I don't understand the wording of the living bomb spell, but it seems to me that a target of your choice becomes the living bomb making it an amazing helper for multimob tanks? Does it get affected by the mage's spellpower or the target's?
ok I'm seeing all these assass/combat specs etc... I could use some advice on sub/assass specs
my char's stats are as follows
9274hp,1788 atk power, 27.5% crit, 27.96% dodge, 8% hit rating and only 222 resil
my spec is 20/0/41 can I get some advice on what to open with or any different stats thanks in advance for any replies
Ok I searched the last 15 pages on this thread and could not find an answer. Best starting weapon for 2h slam spec? Assuming 375 blacksmithing... is t3 bs sword better than the s2 sword? and where does soul cleaver come into play? Looking for preferable weapon progression. ie t3 bs sword -> soulcleaver -> CE
Ok. I have been reading alot about the PvP aspect of resto. I really go into the idea due to the fact that every druid you see arena in my battle group is resto. However, I chose moonkin because all the world of warcraft forums and wiki forums support it as "the best solution" for PvP. Note: I have seen MANY moonkin druids in BG's. So I decided to make a 2v2 team with a lock friend of mine. He is sitting at 340 resilience and SL/SL. I am sitting at 399 resilience not using PvP ring and instead using 2 armor rings. This gives me 68% mitigation from physical attacks. The problem I am seeing though is we roughly go 3 for 3. 3 wins followed by 3 losses. Possibly because of gear and not having the full gear. The basic concept is to burn down one target fast. Mostly me being a buffer while he DPS's and I instacast moonfire and insect swarm. Sometimes, if the teams are dumb, they go for him first and give me time to tree and all out DPS the one target. For us, it works well to DPS the off char if there is a healer and just keep the healer cc'd. (ex. fear, cyclone, and felhunter.) The downfall of our group is when I have to shift out to heal I will die instantly almost. So I pretty much have to stay in boomkin once I shift into it unless they go for him. I have just taken the assumption that if I go resto I will just get owned faster. Another question I have is whether there is a good macro for some of the things I have seen. For me, I tried the bearform charge bash and shift heal boomkin DPS shift heal bear charge bash and I absolutly suck at it....... Maybe a mod or a macro or something may help me. I have everything bound to keys on the keyboard because clicking for me is a bit taxing. I would rather use my mouse and the keyboard so I can keep running and healing and switch faces. I have all the moonkin gear besides rings and the staff currently and I have enough arena and honor saved to go either complete that set or start a resto set heavy. I guess I am just looking for some direction on where to go. My goal is to get a 2050 arena 2's team noting more nothing less. Not really looking for threes. I average about 120 games a week and am maintaining a SAD 1530 rating currently. Highest we have gotten was 1547 with the current games. Advise please Kthx!
So Ive just got my t6 chest and weve been killing illidan for a while, I have most of my sockets to avoidance but I'm wondering if thats a smart choice - We are going to work on sunwell soon. Can anyone armory me and give me advice? WOndering if itd be smart to just go 15 stm on all the sockets on chests or keep it as it is (2x10dodge/1x10def).
I'm sorry if i missed it somewhere, but does anyone have a talent tree spec that would be best for soloing/questing? I'm about to start the beta and from everything I read, holy seems to be the best way to go.
I just respecced from BM to Survival because the regular survival hunter quit the game. I've tried reading most of this thread to see if my question has already been answered once, but I couldn't find it. The question being if I should go for 7/20/34 with the Felspine and Bindings of Lightning reflexes (and consequently, which rotation to use with that) or stay with my current spec and don't go for haste. My guild is expecting to start tries on Brut soon and as such I have picked up LW together with a few other people. I'm pretty sure I'm always in a drummer group. You'll notice I don't have 4 T6 pieces yet but that will be sorted before having a go at him. So, any quick tips ?

Of the two roles suggested by Blizzard: "best tank when the boss can't crushing blow" and "best tank that can also dps," neither will apply in WotlK. The first (assuming that bosses will remain lvl 83) because crushing blows will only come from 4+ level opponents. The second, because it should have been stated as "best tank that can also (single target dps)". The Prot Pally tanking adds during Felmyst Phase II does alot more damage than any WWS I've seen for a feral attempting the same job, or doing boss dps and helping on the adds.
While I appreciate Greven's suggestion (as impractical as it was), I don't think thats the right direction. Who wants to be the "niche" tank for "gimmick" fights, whether based on being able to shift out of forms or some other unique druid ability?
According to Blizzard, Warriors are the physical mitigation tanks, Paladins are the AoE tanks, Death Knights look set to be the "magic damage" tanks. I honestly don't have a good solution for Blizzard. The "Threat" tank for "Frenzy" Bosses suggestion sounds workable, in that we will already have good mitigation and do more single target dmg, but that still plays into what seems like a fairly limited and "gimmicky" dependent role.
At the end of the day, it looks like we are left as the "Second best" tank that has good physical mitigation and "Second best" AoE threat (depending on how DKs work out). Not sure being "second best" is what any of us are interested in, and it certainly doesn't sound like a description that anyone would want for their Main Tank, if indeed Blizzard intends any of the four classes to be a raid MT.
Death Knights will definitely be better AoE tanks than Feral Druids, and Warriors probably will be as well.
Well... Although that would make Molten Core more useful, it would diminish the effect of Emberstorm. In the end it would be a DPS decrease.
As to Bimbly's desire to have a more "reactive" nature to Destro, I can only suggest the following:
Give Chaos Bolt an innate +50% crit damage modifier.
This solves 2 problems. A) it makes Chaos Bolt more PvE viable. And B) Makes it desirable as a "reactive" spell to maximize DPS when combined with an Empowered Imp build.
I'm curious as to why you took 4/5 deflection as opposed to monster slaying. its pretty obviously a PvE build, outside of those parry talents. btw nice dmg on brut, and i'd kill for a sliver or dst to drop for us, sigh.
Here's what we did last night on brut, kinda curious as where SV tops out at on dps.
my guild is currently 5/6 in sunwell and we are working on KJ atm. our best attempt so far stranded at 49% (our first go in meteor phase).
i have been cookiecutter BM spec since TBC hit and didnt really care to read up on other specs
my guilds raidleader last night asked me to look into speccing survival in order to boost raid dps. we used 3 hunters, 3 rogues, 2 dps warriors (or 1 dps and 1 prot), 1 enhancement shaman and a feral druid.
since speccing survival means i lose serpents swiftness i have no idea what would be the best macro / rotation for me to use. i can look forward to a group consisting of 3 hunters a feral druid and a shaman where 3 or 4 people are leatherworkers.
i use a 3.0 speed (golden bow of quel'thalas) and the only other ranged weapons i have black bow of the betrayer (also 3.0) and sunfury bow.
is it even viable for me to try out survival and if so what would be best macro/rotation for me to use.
sorry for probably asking the same question that has probably been answered numerous times before but im at work and dont have time to read through the entire topic.
It also makes no sense that we have no expertise/hit buffs in prot - when all the other tanks have.
This is what I don't get. Warriors are supposed to be the unequivocal masters of all weapons period end of discussion. And our expertise is being taken away?!?!?! No sense!
