You still pick up Mana Tide Totem, you just take 40% on Blessing of the Eternals instead, it will still hit more often than not on low health targets, and as stated earlier its one of the weaker healing talents in the tree. I agree that mana tide totem will always be a good pick up as long as some people in the raid benefit from it. It cannot be doubted that other people will benefit from it. (At the very least another healer in your raid).
That said I'm still skeptical about the build, I'd miss ancestral swiftness, and the full 15% bonus to Water/Earth Shield, not to mention the certainty of earthliving being on low health targets. That said, this could be an interesting play style.
I read somewhere in posts that the requirements for our meta gem was going to be returned to needing only the two blue gems, and I'm curious if that is etched in stone, and will positively be the case. Cause if not, then the profession blacksmithing may fall behind as a dps gain due to one of them needing to be a blue gem.
In one of the posts here I had read blizzard was going to return the requirement for our meta gem back to needing only the two blue gems. I am curious as to if that is etched in stone, and will definitely be the case. If not, I'm thinking the blacksmith's bonus gem slots become less of a dps gain due to one of the slots needing to be filled with a blue gem, in effect cutting the bonus strength we get in half.
I have begun to work on the hunter module yesterday, my target is a 100% tooltip hunter in 1-2 weeks.
But we are really looking for someone ( or more ) who plays a hunter actively and can take over. There is as always a great need for empirical testing and finetuning.
Instead of just posting code in this thread, I'd encourage you to contact dedmonwakeen here on EJ via PM, so that you can work directly in the team. The coding became really easy with the new database, and there are always people around to help if you have questions.
With the profiles: They are appreciated, but at the moment it is too early to already do much finetuning on them. New priority lists would be great, so that we have a basic to work with.
To be honest, I'm not much of an experienced coder but I'd love to help anyway I could.
I shall go ahead and send dedmonwakeen a PM about the BiS profiles that I've been working on.
Okay so ive only been playing WoW for about two months and i learn something new everyday. I used the DW frost build from you guys that said was the top DPS. I have some questions which are probally really simple but here it goes. Can you please post what all my caps should be hit/exp/mast/haste/etc... and can you please tell me a good rotation and i know i have looked at alot of dif sites and tried alot of rotations but i can get over 6k dps againt bosses and should i be always using specials or should i be waiting a little bit or what cuz this is my single targ rot PS,HB,BS,BS,OB,FS,HOW does that look right or should i use icy touch instead of HB? when i do it seems like my dps suffers and could you tell me how i should gem i have full scourglord and DW pls just give me a rundown of what i should be doin.... thank you any advise helps
i might be a moron for saying this but doesn't the 3% crit meta require more blue gems then red gems? and don't purples count as both red and blue and oranges count as both red and yellow so unless i use some sort of green or blue gem i would not receive the meta bonus?
Hello there i am fresh rogue starting playing 3 weeks ago and i am 57 level.During the level process i mostly was in battleground and avoiding dungeon. In bg i have problem and i am confused how should i start the fight and what is next if the target don't die in 10 sec for example.I have 2 80's level warlock and mage and hunter and i have no problem with them but with rogue i am totally noob or lost,i was amazed watching in youtube from rogues and that's make me to make rogue by myself but it's harder that just to watch,
Any advice for opening rotation,builds,talents?
Also i am confused about these spells What is better from these in pvp Backstab,Eviscerate,Hemorrhage,Rupture for these last 2 spells Hemorrhage and Rupture come together right? if i want to use Hemo i need to use Rupture as well?
I don't really know what to use for best dmg and fast kill
If I have 10 level 80s, what are the best professions for the ones that I don't play right away? For example, before cata, I've been using them to hop on once a day and do a transmute/JC quest daily (10 mins each). Would alch/JC still be the best money maker come cata for those alts that only get logged once a day for 10 min money making?
From what I can gather, most Mages will be using Glyph of Fireball and Pyroblast until they are reasonably decked in full Epics and Heroic Epics. Once their crit is above 34%, they will most likely lose the Glyphs of Fireball and Pyroblast, and pick up Glyphs of Living Bomb and Frostfire Bolt to make better use of the Mastery stat.
Fireball will always be used in a Fire Mage's DPS rotation regardless of the amount of Mastery you have. The DoT effect from Glyph of Frostfire Bolt only stacks up to 3 times, and even with the +15% damage increase, it's damage still isn't comparable to that of Fireball's, and as such, it should only be cast 3 times initially to stack the debuff, and once again every 10 seconds to keep the stack alive, using Fireball as the primary nuke.
I believe Mana conservation will be a factor we will need to be more aware of early on in the expansion, as with the reduced combat ratings, will come less mana return from Crit's that don't happen often enough to make Master of Elements a viable Mana Regen stat. With the most recent change to Arcane Concentration, whereby the Clearcasting proc is no longer consumed by Hot Streak or Scorch, I believe this will be an extremely good Talent to pick up.
I don't believe Pyromaniac will be of as much use as everyone seems to believe it will be. While it will be much, much easier to have 3 or more targets taking damage from your Fire DoT's with the use of the instant Flamestrike, ranged Blast Wave and Impacted Fire Blast's, I believe many of you are forgetting the strong emphasis Blizzard has placed on the need for Crowd Control in Cataclysm. I personally have not seen Cataclysm raids, so I may be speaking out of line here, but I don't believe there will be enough of an opportunity for this Talent to be viable, except for possibly a few Trash pulls that aren't CC'd correctly.
Having said that - the Improved Fire Blast and Impact Talents aren't something to avoid for single target boss fights due to the range increase. The +8% chance to critically hit is a nice addition to the talent and one I often find using in my primary rotation to further stack an Ignite, or provide me with that 2nd almost guaranteed crit for my Improved Hot Streak proc.
Cauterize will be extremely useful very early on, as it will allow you to make mistakes often and get away with it relatively unscathed, and avoid insta-gib abilities that appear to be present on a number of the bosses in Cata, however given decent enough raid awareness and knowledge of the mechanics behind such abilities, I don't believe this to be enough of a reason to make it a raid viable Talent.
I believe this will be the spec and glyph build Fire Mages will be running with in mid-end game 1st Tier raid progression. Fire Mage - 7/31/3
it should only be cast 3 times initially to stack the debuff, and once again every 10 seconds to keep the stack alive, using Fireball as the primary nuke.
Forgive me if I missed something, but i've seen no indication Fire Mages (Using Fireball as primary nuke) should cast Frostfire Bolt at all, ever, not even once every 10 seconds to maintain the DOT stack. Simulcraft doesn't have any damage come from FFB either.
