Does anyone have approximate rule of thumb IEP (or whatever baseline you want to use) values for the various stats? I know modeling is best, but for approximate gearing from heroics it would be nice to know, for example, whether said mastery/crit item is better than a lower level mastery/haste item
I pull using IT or dnd/IT when dnd isnt needed for adds. I'm just more comfortable with pulling boss's the same way i pull trash and many times puling with outbreak is the only time i'll have both diseases on the boss.
After running my first Heroic in item level 333 gear, I'm not sure if Arcane is viable and I would appreciate some discussion on the topic.
Here are a couple of problems that I encountered:
I could not effectively execute a burn phase because I ran out of mana less than 8 seconds into AP, forcing me to evocate. I found that I could only cast two (sometimes 3) AB then AM to clear otherwise my mana pool dropped below 85%. I could not maximize Time Warp potential without having to evocate halfway through. In short, I could not harness all of Arcane's abilities and maximize the full damage potential without running out of mana.
One trick I did find that helped with mana was to cast flame orb. Flame Orb procs AM constantly allowing AM to be cast repeatedly which can bring the mana pool back up.
The only mechanic that I found that worked is a simple rotation of (2or3)AB then clear with AM. Pop AP, MG and MI when available but continue the same rotation. Use Flame Orb if mana drops below 85%. I used this mechanic on a couple of bosses and while it worked, I found myself last on the damage meter by a fair margin.
Prior to Cata, we could execute a 40 second burn phase and still have 35% mana. Does anyone know if we will be able to execute a full burn phase with T11 gear?
I feel that I am running into the same issues. I hope someone can shed some more light on this situation.
I have a question...My mage is duel speced arcane and frost but I have been noticing that my dps has gone down since cata. My ex husbands gf was telling me that she runs arcane and fire and has no problems anywhere. So what truly is better frost or fire?
This post really should be placed in the affliction thread, but it was closed so I thought I would just ask the question here.
As I was reading through the affliction thread I came across some testing that indicated that if one refreshed corruption manually during a haste buff, then refreshing it via haunt thereafter, the haste buff would be maintained throughout the entire fight for corruption (even after the buff has worn off). My question is could that same principal be used for unstable affliction? You manually cast unstable affliction during a haste buff, then refresh it using fel flame. Could that strategy be used to keep the hasted buff on both corruption and UA?
One: In the affliction thread, the unstable affliction glyph is not listed among the primes. He recommended the sucubus's lash of pain which is obviously old information, so that leaves me with the question. glyph of corruption or glyph of unstable affliction?
Two: As i understand it the best burn i can manage is a rotation starting as such.
Anything i may be missing?
Three: CoD, on bosses obviously, As good as BoA? Worse? Even with the summoned minions?
Is there any consensus about the value of other stats besides agility and mastery? Ive been assuming agil>mastery>hit/expertise>crit>haste, but I was wondering if anyone has any numbers to back up either this or some other order
So from reading point of views of current raid active S.Priests, it seems the highest Haste you can achieve is somewhere around 17% ish.. I haven't looked into it and found "The Best Haste Combination" gear but my main question is; Is being Hit Capped for Raids necessary? I have an abundance of spirit which I currently reforge because of the Hit requirement from heroics however I can achieve Raid Hit Cap but do I need to? or simply work on haste stacking
