Please read the pve 3.1 compendium post. The only thing missing is a specification for the range. Being between 28-30 yards works for me. Being right next to the boss will not yield a 1:1 rotation unless you sacrifice dps time waiting for the incinerate to land and the buff to register (client-side presumably)

Something extremely strange happened to me. By the time patch came live and till at least yesterday midday I was doing ~7k dps on heroic dummy. DS was ticking for 18-21k and SBs were critting for 14k. I was sure something was completely wrong since on PTR i could pull maximum 5k dps on heroic dummy. As I tried to go to dummy again today and see if 7k is still the case, I found out that I could hardly go past 4.5k dps and DS was now ticking for maximum 11k while SBs were critting for maximum 9k. I assume something was wrong either on the warlocks side or the dummy side and it was hotifixed with one of those realm restarts and shutdowns. Pitty tho because I was feeling so OP for a moment ^_^

edit: Forgot to mention that I was running a 55/0/16 deep affli build.

Meh. I view dual-spec primarily as an opportunity to perform two very different roles. For example, my druid has cat/bear specs and my priest has shadow/holy specs. Having two dps specs might be attractive to a total min/max-er, but you'd really need two different gear sets to make it truly worthwhile. So, if I ever *do* go dual-spec on my hunter, I'll probably have the off-spec be a pvp spec, since I'm already accumulating a pvp gear set.

A blue post by Ghostcrawler explaining the exact formulas for the calculation of Armor Penetration Rating.

Okay, here is a fairly technical explanation we put together for how armor pen works.

We didn’t want Armor Penetration Rating to be too powerful against low armor targets, like it had been in BC. We also didn’t want Armor Penetration Rating to be too powerful against high armor targets.

So, we decided on a system where there is a cap on how much armor the Armor Penetration Rating can be applied to. So, the first X armor on the target is reduced by the percentage listed in the Armor Penetration Rating tooltip, and all armor past that X is unaffected. Another way of understanding that is we multiply the percentage in the tooltip times the minimum of the two values: the cap, and the amount of armor on the target after all other modifiers.

Computing the cap is a little tricky unless you are already familiar with how World of Warcraft armor works. There is an armor constant we’ll call C. C is derived as follows (in some pseudocode):

If (level<60)
C=400+85*targetlevel
Else
C=400+85*targetlevel+4.5*85*(targetlevel-59);

For a level 80 target, C=15232.5. For a level 83, C=16635.

The cap for Armor Penetration then is: (armor + C)/3.

A level 80 warrior creature has 9729 armor. C=15232.5. So, the cap is (9729+15232.5)/3=8320.5. Let’s say a player has 30% armor penetration from armor penetration rating and no other modifiers that complicate the calculation (talents, Battle Stance, Sunder Armor, etc.). The game chooses the minimum of 8320.5 and 9729, so 8320.5. That is multiplied by 30% = 2496.15, and so that much armor is ignored. The effective armor on the target is 7232.85 (9729-2496.15). From a player point of view, the armor penetration rating didn’t ignore the full 30%, but instead ignored 25.66%. (85.5% as effective as expected).

These equations should help you be able to test and verify that Armor Penetration Rating is working correctly and as we designed. The tooltip is not actually inaccurate, as it states: “Enemy armor reduced by up to 30.00%.” That "up to" is key.

Please be sure to test without any other effects which modify the armor calculation (Battle Stance, Sunder Armor, Mace Specialization, etc.) as they may involve other systems that add additional complexity to the calculation.

I got Golem-Shard Sticker a couple days ago.

I assumed it would replace my web death seeing as the stats are so much higher but im still seeing people post that web death is best OH.

Opinion?

Should be common knowledge that you cannot make a one button macro to fire off all your shots as they are ready. The best you could do is add modifiers to control which one is fired, such as Shift, and Control. You can add /cast Kill Command to any macro though since it is not on the GCD. Please research some.

If YOU had researched, you would know that Silencing is not on the GCD Kill Shot is now, aye but wasn't pre patch

What is better? A Gnome Death Knight or Human Death Knight?

I can't decide, both racials seem close. Gnomes have 2 snarebreaks, Humans have 1, but humans also have diplomacy and perception. They also have a 3% spirit boost with the weapons expertise.

Gnomes on the other hand have the intellect boost, but isn't that a waste on DKs since they don't use mana?

Also IMO Gnomes look cooler and make the gear look bigger than Hu.

I can't decide. I want to do both pve and pvp for my dk.

first time poster (long time reader) was wondering for combat spec with the change to poisons on ppm would sinisters revenge be better than webbed death even with snd my weapon speed goes under 1.0 on webbed death wouldnt that be a nerf on poison dmg i understand combat potency hits more often was wondering if sr which has higher dps alrdy be better thx for the help.
is there a point in speed where the poison dmg loss outway the combat potency procs?

From Flare of the Heavens, the data has been changed, WoWhead isn't updated yet, new data:
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 120
Equip: Your harmful spells have a chance to increase your spell power by 850 for 10 sec

So anyway, I'm not sure which 2 items to get then... was thinking of Eye of the Broodmother for sure, but I'm unsure about the second one then...
Can anyone help me out?
