FFB+FB burn rotation
Hello.
I just imagined one interesting thing about burn dps rotation and glyphs.
You can use FFB glyph for stackin DOT and recast it for 100% uptime, plus use fireball as usual spell.
you just get one more button in rotation, no mana cost increases, but one more tickin dot gives you additional damage via mastery and (!) combustion.
If somebody have some free time for test- try it.
Thanks.

I picked up [Unheeded Warning] last night and was wondering if/where any numbers had been run on this for viability.

Actually pyroblast! is slightly more damage ~4%.

I'm not sure whether it's a bug or a feature, but at the moment soulfire landing while the soulfire buff is still active does not refresh its timer. My guess is that is the reason.

Hey guys, I sat out all of WOTLK and just impulsively bought Cataclysm. I've done a lot of reading but did not have time to go through every Profession tree for the changes.
Do you know the consensus best professions for PvE DPS and PvP? I read that LW gives a strong primary stat boost that is very imbalanced at the moment. But my Warrior is a 450 Engineer/190 JC and I'm probably going to stick with Engineering for battlegrounds and such. I have no issues with dropping JC if there is a better theorycrafted profession.

His point was why start casting Soul Fire with 3.2 seconds left on the buff instead of waiting till the last possible moment while still hasted to begin Soul Fire. But this seems obvious, if you cast as soon as possible and finish your Soul Fire before the buff runs out, your next spell will also be hasted, and ISF can expire as the missile travels. If the next cast in your rotation takes longer than travel time, you cast nothing unhasted.

I'm really confused for days trying to find an answer, this may be because I haven't slept much, but here's my issue.
What are the stats to go for for every spec? When I look at the Cata spreadsheet thread, taking for example destro's stats, it'd seem crit is better than haste (why?). However, checking out the BiS gear and reforges used in the simcraft, it's all about haste, even crit being reforged to haste. Why is crit supposed to be better and why is this not reflected in the choice of gear for the simcraft?
My dps is not bad despite my lacking gear and I've been going for crit, but still, I've compiled several wishlists for myself but keep bumping on the question: what stat is truly best for every spec, and especially destruction?
Thanks for the answer and my apologies if I missed something. I've been looking for this answer for days and revived my EJ account for it (though I don't think I ever posted with it).

Doesn't the heart grant close to the same amount of Haste that Time Warp/Lust/Hero grants? On a 2 minute cooldown?
I'm also very curious to see at what point it becomes favorable to use a pure scorch rotation. Having seen a fair share of the current raid encounters I would say the only fight where it even becomes a question is Atramedes, other than our friendly blind dragon I would go so far as to say that of the fights I have seen, there is not one fight where it becomes a viable way to DPS. After extensive target dummy testing in my gear (obviously not BiS but, seriously, no one will see that for a good while now and we might as well use threads like this to discuss current situations where the information would be immediately useful, no?) it seems that Pure Scorch segments will equal close to 3k in lost dps. That's a massive number over the course of a fight, and sometimes the difference between a kill and not with some of the current boss fights (Chimearon and Twilight Ascendant Council come to mind).
Honestly I think we need to look at scorch as our way to maintain DPS only when forced to move. FORCED to move. It's Blizzards boon to mages for creating a number of mechanics in the current tier of bosses that REQUIRE movement from nearly every raid member at some point in the fight. I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into the section advocating a pure scorch rotation. I've always come to these forums to improve my DPS, this suggestion of a pure scorch rotation is foolish to be frank, and such a rotation should be avoided at all costs.
I would love to see more discussion about actual situations that require some theory crafting. What fights is it a dps gain to use Mage Armor over Molten? Are there even any such instances? What does our AoE rotation look like currently? It cannot possibly be Blast Wave, Flamestrike to OOM, it's far too short of a duration AoE rotation and in fights like Omnitron or Magmaw, where there are adds that have to die asap, what is the highest DPS sustainable rotation?
Maybe that's not what this thread is for? Is this only an enclave for spreadsheets and theory?
Long time reader, first time poster.

Can we have this thread moderated? I dont think I've seen this much litter in an EJ thread for a long time.
People discussing 5-mans or the odd random raid encounter they've seen anecdotally.

Hey there fellow Warriors.
I'm currently SMF trying it out and I heard some chatter about once you hit 8% don't worry about trying to gem for it anymore and just go for Crit/STR/Haste. Is this true? Is it worth it?
After talking with some other Warriors it seems like Heroic Strike is their main attack priority and after that it's BT, RB and Slam. I've tried this out with pretty good success. Just wondering what everyone else is seeing.

First off i would like to say hello to the e/j paladin community. have been reading these forums ever since i started my paladin but never really posted here. Know on to my question. I was wondering if i should drop blacksmithing and take leatherworking. i currently have blacksmithing and jewelcrafting, the leatherworking bonus seems to far outwiegh the two gemslots u you get from blacksmithig. should i drop blacksmithing and take leatherworking?

Hello,
first of all, excuse my bad english please ^^
The new PvP had season startet and you can buy the new PvP equipment.
My question ist, is it worthwile, to geht the new PvP daggers, because they make more DpS than the daggers you can get in the Heroics.
i know, resilence isn´t a great PvE stat, but they make more DpS ^^
So i asked you, what you would do.
Thanks!
