Hello i read the majority of posts and checked guides but couldn't find this out: what weapon speed do you want in your offhand for combat? 1,8 or 1.4? (i read in a guide dagger was best for combat) also how about for Assassination what weapon speed do you want...? thank you!

That gives me 2 spell chances before going back to AB again.

I believe using this will work out better than mixing in Flame Orb.
Fire Blast also costs 3.8k mana, and doesn't benefit from arcane specialization. Consider that casting 2 Arcane Blasts is still cheaper than a single Fire Blast.

Hello all good people.
On the bigining I sorry for my english, I know it`s realy bed.

I dont know it expertise cap is required.
You write in "EP tab - mine post":
Stat EP
Agility 2.6
Yellow Hit Rating 1.75
Spell Hit Rating 1.4
Mastery Rating 1.3
Haste Rating 1.2
Expertise Rating 1.1
Crit Rating 0.9
White Hit Rating 0.75

A expertise is below haste and mastery. If there is good to reforge to this stats (even when I dont have expertise cap).
In TWOLK expertise wos a highly valued stats. In Cata EP valued for expertise its not so good.
My question:
It expertise cap is nesesery? or the better way is forget about expertise and reforge to better stars (primery is reforge crit to haste or mastery). All expertise it wos on not reforge (40%) eq stats.

Stamina.

This stat seems to have been completly tossed asside as if it was useless. Although for the moment I fully agree that we do not need any as a priority, I doubt that this will stay like this for very long. I predict that in a few patches, it will become manditory as it did in Wotlk.

Stamina directly affects survivability. This means that if you have more, you will have more chances to survive any given moment in a fight, because the percent of your health that is taken away is smaller if you have more.

On the other hand, avoidance affects survivabilty indirectly. You have more avoidance, you take less damage. You take less damage, you have less chances to die.

The only problem with avoidance is that it does not work 100% of the time. This means that if you take 3 or 4 hits one after the other and your hp is to low, the healers might not be able to keep you alive in the future when new instances will open. This is what happened in Wotlk when ulduar came out. The effect was even greater when we saw TOC surface.+

The reason that I wrote this is just a little heads up. If you see a piece of gear with high stam, it might be best to keep it and bank it rather then passing it off to an offspec. Although we can't predict what blizzard has in store for us, it is best to be prepared.

I've been working with the two glyphs Exorcism and Crusader Strike, and so far the DPS results I have been getting have been different. I've found using Exorcism after its DOT has passed to be a small DPS improvement sense we have enough time to allow Exorcism DOT to pass and apply a fresh one. As for Crusader Strike, the 5% crit has increased the chance for this to deal out more damage which is nice but we need a lot of Haste for it to matter. I don't know how much Haste we need, but in Wrath I had enough Haste to make my Crusader Strike's CD 3 secs which at its time was devastating.

I share the same concerns regarding the actual status of mage Class.

I am also sure that most of our problems will fix themselves as soon as we get better gear (more crit = more dps mainly).

What i really have problems to accept is our mastery (fire).

Fire mastery increase the dmg of our dots. That is Pyroblast dot, Ignite, Living Bomb and Combustion.

So, if we dont crit our mastery works only for LIving Bomb and the low-dmg Combustion.

Most gear we get has mastery on it, but as said mastery works good only if u crit, so is heavily dependant on crit rating.
Having a stat heavily dependant on another stat doesn't look like the perfect class mechanic, expecially cos other dps classes dont have this problem.

A mastery focused on dots is something a warlock or a shadow priest would want, not mages. But those classes have general dmg increase instead of dots.

I think that a primary fix should be on this. Maybe change mastery with general crit% increase so to fix mage problems and make our talent specs (HS, Ignite) actually work like they are supposed to.

Well i did some testing in a couple of hcs , nothing fancy just using my CH on low hp targets, and what i can say is tha it increases the initial heal of CH, cant say anything about the subsequent .

I see you point but.

You said the amount of mastery this early in the content is too much, and i agree on the fact that...RP wise....you "master" certain skills not right away but after a lot of training.

But that is true only for Fire mage mastery. Every other class benefits from High mastery rating right away since it affects main abilities or overall dmg/healing. only fire mages mastery is crit dependant and so you must have a reasonable amount of crit to use it.

So, while in theory what you said is true, in practice that works only for mage class, so lowering the amount of mastery on non-class-specific items, is a nerf to 9 classes out of 10.
Go to talent calculator and check each class mastery. An high amount is most welcome by everyone, while i have to reforge my item and lower my mastery to add hit or crit.

Any assumptions if a 3sec cooldown on PW:Shield would be worse than taking more efficiency for FH, Heal, BH and GH?
I'm wondering this myself.

My only concern is that there are times when I need to rapidly throw out shields on the group (in a heroic 5-man, for example), and I'm worried that the shield CD will hurt there.

Let us know how it goes!

Not only that, I cringe every time I see someone present the awesome trick of iceblocking through a heavy damage phase.

Yes we already know thank you.

Now telling us it's a bad idea to iceblock through damage phase X on encounter Y because you still blow up the raid or the boss then goes and oneshot player Z instead would be a neat tip but please spare us for the obvious.

ok how do you Pop unleash life? as it is a proc placed on the weapon doe it go off every time? Trying to heal in new Heroics is a pain in the butt and when you get tanks that dont want to CC things or just break all the CC i am like OOM after almost every fight with just over 74K mana

As long as you have the Earthliving weapon buff applied, using our new spell Unleash Weapons will 'pop' Unleash Life.
