Posted two days ago, guess I need to elaborate more on my question. I understand the stat hierarchy for preraid arcane mages (Hit > Intel > SP > Haste > Mastery > Crit), but I was curious as to which gem is better: [Quick Amberjewel] or [Artful Ember Topaz]? I understand that intellect is bar far the best stat, so essentially my question is this: which is better +20 initellect or +40 haste?

Also, another quick question: at which point would it be more beneficial to switch to fire spec? Once I reach hit cap?

My Steady / Cobra go down to 1.41 with both FF and ISS up probably cos my gear gives me 978 haste (7.64%), as i said i dont have good gear atm its kinda a hodgepodge of pre-raid / questing stuff ATM so yeah a full rotation takes 1.41X3 (steadys and cobra what i dont know if it says that or the GCD takes to 1.5 but i will use this as a yes.) 1s for arcane shot and 1.5s for KC (i think) So total rotation time is 7 seconds. While the one you put up would be 1.5seconds less cos of the 1 less steady and replacing the other with a cobra so you have a downtime of 0.5 in attacks so full rotation is 5.5s or if you add in the extra arcane shot instead of the 2nd cobra then you are hitting the 6 seconds exactly. but that is still with the focus regeneration for me atleast having 0.5 seconds downtime in 2 of every 3 rotations i believe. to keep the focus up. Though i do freely admit that as my gear isnt great it might be that my crit is to low at 883 (12.43% chance) so my pet isnt getting enough crits to get invigoration up. Oh and im using a Devilsaur for pet if that makes a dif as its 5% crit bonus, and as i said this is outside of raid so not fully buffed up.

Anyway in answer to your other question, for the other spec you said i was Hunters Marking and serp string first of course, FF when it was at a 5 stack as with my spec then prioritising kill command over everything, then arcane shot if i had the focus to use it and still have enough ready for kill command when it came off CD and outside of that i tried both cobra/cobra or when i had the excess energy arcane/cobra
So either rotation went KC/Arcane/Cobra/Cobra or KC/Arcane/Arcane/Cobra depending on focus.

Edited post script : Went back to OPs spec and tried it again and on target dumby i am about 8000 - 8300 using that spec, 8200 - 8400 using my one both not using any Beastial wraths for about 10mins each. As i said though its probably an anomily caused by my gear or something. Im actually more comfortable using the OPs spec though it seems less rooted to the ground though the annoyance as i said before is im spending almost all my time on 20-60 focus while mine as staited above kept me nearer to the 90-100 marker almost all the time.

I'm just curious if its been completely figured out what race would be best for Enhance PvE. Please don't say play what you like (I already do it's a Shaman). I'm looking strictly min/max for PvE.

Hello, guys. Recently I've tried to figure out one thing and couldn't count to conlcusion whether
Theralion's Mirror or Bell of Enraging Resonance is better for fire specced mages.
Your formulas confirm that the mirror is better(intellect ftw) but for some reason, since mastery is a very low stat for mages(ignite

) plus the bell's proc gives raw dmg (spellpower) and gives crit, bell seems better using common sense. Can anyone clarify this plz? Thanks in advance.

With Darkmoon Fair on the way, was just looking for confirmation that Volcano is working properly on Magegraf, I know on Rawr it is stated that trinket procs are not working as intended, in it's current build. When I pump in Sorrowsong heroic vs the Volcano card, I find that Sorrowsong heroic is far ahead. Just wanted some confirmation that what I was looking at was considered defined and confirmed as 100% accurate.

You know I have heard that but I made sure rune strike was still being used. Maybe because I mash my strikes even when they are on cd though. Thats just something I picked up from one of the dps threads I believe. I would be interested in a better solution than having to put rune strike on my bars definitely.

I just spent 30k gold for this garbage trinket. It only procs 1-2 times per minute, do not waste your gold.

I have yet to figure out the stat priority...atm im going hit cap>agi>crit>haste>mastery but I see most of the top hunters in top guilds doing something completly different from each other...it would be appreciated if someone could say the correct stat priorities to make reforging and gemming easier to understand not just blindlessly switching out stats

SO I noticed that on the character sheet under general stats and the melee hit I am only at 7%. Is heroic presence taken into this hit calculation on your character sheet? Or am I good as a DW frost DK with only 7.15%?

Been playing around with a best in slot setup for normal and hardmodes this is what I came up with.
Normal: chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta
Heroic: chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta
Both uses Blacksmithing & Jewelcrafting
What's your opinion on it?

Ok, so I wasn't able to find this in the thread.
In my raid group we have a warlock who always gives me Dark Intent, now my question is that since this gives me 9% extra periodic damage in addition to the 3% haste. Does this make frostfire bolt>fireball. I say this for two reasons, one the glyph ffb gives an addition dot, that dot helps keep the 3 stacks of DI up, and two that same ffb dot would also be doing 9% more dmg.
I was just wondering if using ffb as my main nuke is better dps at that point, on first glance it seems so, but I figured I'd leave it up to you theorycrafters to figure it out.

If it is true that Rs is not on the same CD as the other abilities, what would be a normal macro setup for Death Strike / Heart Strike / Blood Boil? (main 3 attacks I use, besides RS)

Elementium Ore is the best by my calculations (Obsidium/Elementium are similar in price on my server and Pyrite is about 2.5-3x more expensive). Ore is kind of in a state of flux though because uncommon gem prices are plummeting and rare gems are increasing (for my server at least).
