Sure. My point is that 6% isn't a large damage reduction, particularly on top of a feint. Assuming, say, a 50k AoE, you reduce it to 25k via feint and 2/2 Improved Recuperate thus gives you an extra 1500 damage reduction. If we further posit that you have about 120k HP raid buffed, the two ticks of Recuperate will also heal you for about 7200 HP, giving a total benefit of a bit under 9k healing/damage reduction.
Of course, two ticks of a Dense Embersilk Bandage will heal 80% as much, faster, for similar personal DPS loss, meaning that its a 2 point talent that makes Recuperate about as good as bandaging. You'll pardon me if I refrain from characterizing that as a good talent.
Improved Recuperate is 4%, not 3. Also calling it a small heal is not exactly accurate.
Since Unleash Elements is looking so awesome now, has anybody tried to include Lava Burst in the rotation?
Logically, it should not really be a DPS increase because we're basically pausing our Melee Attacks for 1-2 seconds to cast a Lava Burst. However, since we are keeping Flame Shock up on the target nearly all the time, Lava Burst is going to Crit 100%.
Also, it will only be worth using right after Unleash Elements, to make actual good use of the 30% Buff. So it won't be always used, plus we don't really like to stop casting every few seconds just so we can cast Lava Burst, even though it's going to be a guaranteed Crit.
I haven't tried this myself yet, just some ideas popping out. Going to try it out once I get some free time.
I'm curious if anyone with an elemental offspec has purchased a Darkmoon Card: Volcano and tried the caster mh FT/FT combination. At a quick glance it seems that this card would be really close to BiS under FT/FT.
Hey guys unholy 2 hander DK here and this is my first reply, so I will try to be brief. After becoming hit cap do I go for expertise cap and then haste ? or go haste after hit cap ? and how much haste is enough ?. I know the stat order but hit/exp are the only ones with a hit cap number.
After looking over the theorycraft to this point my feeling is that Alchemy/JC would be ideal for the Mastery trinket + 67 Mastery gems. Also the JC trinket isn't bad to carry you into heroics/raiding.
Additionally you'd get the Mixology bonus on your elixirs (yet more mastery) which can only be good.
But I don't think there's really a bad choice per se. Other then gathering, which will always be the weakest options.
Having just pretended I know what I'm talking about...I have a tremendously noob-ish question. How do you kite tank effectively?
I offtanked an ICC 10man group on my warrior, and on Rotface I ended up on the boss because Paladins and DKs are so much stronger at kiting oozes/adds. However I've noticed that most warrior tanks have a "kite spec" with Piercing Howl, so I assume I'll be expected to kite adds on some fights as a warrior, but I'm not sure how to do it effectively.
My feeling is to Charge - Shockwave - Rend - Thunderclap - Intervene away. Then use keep them grouped and on me with Shockwave - Thunderclap (for Rend) and then Piercing Howl (for the slow) and run away some more.
