I have question regarding whether it is viable to use PvP gear strickly for the set bonuses over our current T11 raid gear. You can check out my current gearing choices
here but I'm attempting to wear PvP Hat, Shoulders, Pants, Gloves currently. I don't have my hit trinket on but it's
[Stump of Time]. That and a hit ring i'm at 0.38% miss chance. DPS wise I can say I'm usually near the top of the meters I'll have to ask my guild what log sit they are using I'm not sure...so this at least
seems to work out ok.
Currently PvP gear set bonuses award the following:
(2) +400 Resilience rating (worthless)
(2) +70 Intellect
(4) +5% increase to damage done by Arcane Blast, Fireball, Frostbolt, Scorch, and Frostfire Bolt spells.
(4) +180 Intellect
So ignoring the resilience there we still have an extra 250 intellect +5% damage increase to Fireball and Scorch.
Now is this alone worth wearing the PvP gear over PvE gear? There is still 1228 Resilience Rating on just those 4 piece of gear that is completely worthless in a raid setting. In my lowly opinion I think the bonuses make up for the 2% less crit and 3% lower haste. I'm curious how the mage community feels using PvP gear for set bonuses over our awful T11 set bonuses.
