Since you guys mentioned it, if Ret's new Mastery and talent changes go through we're getting at least a 10% buff, going up to 20% base perhaps. Last I saw though, our former best was in the neighborhood of 15-17k on a tank n spank, so it'll be 16.5-20.5k or so which is a bit behind you guys. Thanks to a redesigned talent we're subject to hefty RNG and could probably get 24k+ if the stars align.

I guess the good news for you guys is we'll favor Mastery gear, so a bit less competition for rolling.

Hey everyone i got a question about simulationcraft. You say we should use it to determine our stat weights and i have downloaded it but cant figure out what options i should use. Should i just leave everything on default or should i change something?

However they also balance the game around PvP, and HB is pre-4.0.6 an awesome tool against packs of enemy players.

Saying Howling Blast is strong for just Magmaw is incredibly short sighted. What about Maloriak and Cho'gall? Or to a lesser extent Halfus (whelp cage) and Conclave of Wind (Anshal adds)? Not to mention any future fights which would feature AoE requirements.

Howling Blast was simply hitting too hard per target considering it's range and cooldown/resource. I'm surprised it stuck around for this long, to be honest.

Sorry if this was already answered but why is Heart of Rage (exp trinket) preferred for one of the two trinket slots over Crushing weight (strength trinket)?

Well I'm a bear tank myself. With ilvl 351 and 175k HP raid buffed and my guildies say the same. I've optimized my gear, gems and enchants through RAWR and EJ, I'm almost hit capped and expertise capped (like 1 point off without food) and I still get the same response as you do. With the recent nerf to bears - yet again - I kinda can't blame them. Bears do (in my experience) less single target dmg than the other tanking classes or at least they aren't beating them. Now we lost the Fear break from Berserk - though other tanking classes can break free of theirs.

My healers all say the same, "you are soft compared to the other tanking classes". This even though I've gemmed for half mitigation and half stam. My stats are close to the same as our pally and warrior tanks if not a bit better, so don't know what else to say.

Seems to me like bears are being hit hard with the nerfbat - to a point where, if ppl can choose, they will pick any other tanking class over a bear. I'm the only "serious" bear tank I've seen on my server since Cata and not even once during both normal and heroic dungeons (if I have been dps), have I met a bear tank......

With the new change to the 2 hander aspect of frost:
(Might of the Frozen Wastes now also increases all melee damage by 4/8/12% while wielding a two-handed weapon.)

Will this put 2hander frost equal or ahead of frost duel wield?

My question might not be so simple, but how can I weigh the value of [Sorrowsong] against other dps trinkets? I'm assuming that [Gale of Shadows] is a better trinket, but I wanted to make sure.
