yeah the patch was a lil mean to us, but its 17% dmg lost for hs, not 20%, and the 17% less dmg nerf was also applied to execute and bloodthirst as well

Death Wish increases physical damage by 20% without any mastery, 32% with old mastery(4.7%) and 35% with new mastery(5.6%). - again, with my character as example

.. no way we will gain the DPS we lost on Raging Blow.

Resuming:

-49% Weapon Damage on Raging Blow
+3% Physical damage increase on Death Wish
-20% Heroic Strike damage

= SHIT

Correct me if I am wrong, didn't have time for more calcs.. spent 5 minutes with it.
forgot to add this to my previous reply, and i agree with ur mathematical equation of:

-49% Weapon Damage on Raging Blow
+3% Physical damage increase on Death Wish
-17% Heroic Strike damage

= SHIT

Tier 11 4 Set Bonus

I was just wondering if it is worth skipping the tier 11 4 set bonus as fire and instead going for three off set pieces? as I can't imagine a 10% haste increase on Fireball being a bigger bonus than off set pieces with lots of crit (for example, Flame Pillar Leggings from Magmaw).

I haven't done any math on this so if someone could clear it up I would appreciate it

It's a sad day when Shaman are forced to use a book, rather than a shield, for their BiS off-hand.

Also, is Nitro Boosts really worth using on the belt over 40 Int from an Ebonsteel Belt Buckle (67 if your other profession is JC)?

LOW DPS

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've tried tons of different rotations and spec changes. Nothing seems to be helping. I have a 342 item lvl and have tried to max hit, expertise and also bump haste in different combo's. I seem to always be rage starved during the fight for 2-3 secs at a time. My average DPS on bosses is @ 9-10K in ten mans. I'm thinking I should be closer to 15-16K. Awsomebeast @ Stormreaver - Game - World of Warcraft IDK but it seems to be something out there I'm missing?

I have always used what I believe to be a somewhat common stat prioritization guide listed here ( Get 8% Hit (including Precision), 26 Expertise. After that, Strength > Hit (up to 27%) > Crit > Haste == Mastery. ) and have found it to work well.

However I have been reading as of late that there may be more beneficial raid damage output by placing Crit over certain stats. I find it hard to accurately determine the optimum arrangement of stats, I am simply unaware of any way of measuring it other than simple recount data. My dps according to a target dummy, after about 3 mins is only 11k using trinket/cds, which I feel is a bit low. At the end of heroics I would say I average 12k dps. I have spiked for over 20k though many times but I need to use recklessness, berserker rage, blood fury and heroic magnetite mirror in order to do so and due to their non uniform CD time, I can't maintain this output unfortunately.

I am getting a bit confused over it and would like some more advice and input regarding it. Any help is always appreciated.

Regarding glyphs, unlike with demo and destro, affliction seems to have 3 major glyphs that provide minor dps increases. This leaves it in a bit of a sticky spot regarding glyph of fear, without which fear loses a great deal of usability in raids and heroics, something that in the current environement is rather valuable.

The question is, which glyph is best to drop for it?
-Shadowbolt is a mana efficiency glyph, good in single target, long fight situations, reduces how often you need to tap, meaning more dps.
-Life tap is a time efficiency glyph, reduces the time taken per tap, again, only really noticable in long fights where you tap a reasonably large number of times (3-4 taps gets you a shadowbolt at reasonable haste levels)
-Soul swap is another time efficiency glyph, brings what would take 3 gcd's and brings it down to two. It saves 1-1.5 seconds when dotting multiple mobs,
At first glance, in my mind at least, soul swap is the clear loser, between the cooldown (currently at 10 seconds maybe going to 15) and the minimal gain (1.5 seconds every ~18-20) that you only really get on dual mob fights it just dosn't bring enough to the table to justify its spot when you compare it to the glyphs of life tap or shadowbolt for fights longer than ~3 minutes.

Bearing in mind that most of this is based on napkin math that I just did and that I'm only semi confident in, and that the dps gains/losses in question are both minimal and situational, anyone else have any thoughts?

I've been running fury in arena lately and I really like the burst damage. But one question I had was, is there a different percent of hit I should be going for as fury in arena? Rather than just the 8%? and the 26 exp?

Whilst setting up WeakAura's for my druid i thought about posting about it on their forums as i did on the hunter forums after setting it up for him. I then thought why not just post it here and save me re-posting it everytime i set it up for one of my alts.

I have a question about gear and the relative value for intelligence.

Since I play a gnome mage the relative value for intelligence has to be higher because of "Expansive Mind" and "Wizardry", hasn't it? I am not familiar with your formula to calculate it on my own, but can anybody mention the value for int including the passive gnome abilities?

Could anyone tell whats better, refreshing UA, BoA before last tick, or letting it fall off for short time? especially BoA since first ticks are very low.

Second question is about DS casting. How do we know when to stop drain to avoid breaking 0.01sec before tick without having 1sec wasted drain on the opposite?

As for my 2cents to counting UA casts in fight, revulva forgot that we dont cast UA during execute, so its not precise.
