Q: What are my stat priorities?
A: Get 8% Hit (including Precision), 26 Expertise. After that, Strength > Hit (up to 27%) > Crit > Haste == Mastery.
Should that be strength > hit up to 27%? That sentance just looks a bit wierd to me. Focus strength untill i have 27% hit. Bit hard to aim for strength with no goal to aim for
Or should it be Strength < Hit up to 27% ?
The Nefarian encounter is really the only fight where you might have trouble surviving through burst damage if you have low health due to lack of gear, and that's during breath + crackle in case you don't have a CD for it. Otherwise I'd say go nuts with avoidance since healer mana is really tight on a great deal of fights. You'll really only die due to healers running oom, they "forget" to heal you or you didn't play as the encounter was intended.
So out of curiosity, thanks mainly in part to this forums information, I have tried and switched over to single-minded fury to test out the dps. And while my weapon's are not as good as my TG spec, I tend to do about the same amount of damage. The one thing i was wondering was, since my weapon's hit so much faster than TG spec's but my weapon's overall damage is a lot lower, would it make more sense to do 2/3 Deep wounds and go 3/3 Incite?
I can't imagine a that the small amount of bleed damage that comes from about only 1 ticks worth of Deep wounds, would be better than the 100% chance and another 5% crit on HS, but I'll do some tests.
EDIT: Did some testing on a dummy, and it appears that I do around 350 more DPS w/ 3/3 Incite than 3/3 Deep wounds.
Anybody else get something different or think this is right let me know.
I havent been able to read about any definitive answer about the highest DPS spec currently in the game, but I've have seen some incredibly high DPS coming out of frost mages and all the top mages on my server are currently frost. However when I use rawr it always list fire as top DPS spec as it was prior to cataclysm. I've tried both spec and it seems pretty even to me, tho I think this is attributed to me being more familiar with the fire spec rotation and relatively new to frost. Could anyone give me a definitive answer as the overall top DPS spec for PVE currently. Thanks in advance for the help.
I have been going back through this post, and with all of the new school Cata line of thought regarding Mastery>Parry(HtL)>Dodge all within the context of Stam Stacking in order to smooth out incoming damage, I wanted to ask all of you if there is a 'Tipping Point' at which I should start to forgo extra Stamina in order to swap out for Mastery?
In other words, is there what would be considered a minimum amount of Health that I should be shooting for?
I know of course that 'there is no minimum amount of stamina' that I would want, of course more is better, but is it better for me in Cata to entirely forgo stamina whenever a chance to swap in Mastery is possible?
As well as the meta gem question earlier, and forgoing all +60 stamina gems where possible? Please keep in mind that my math skills essentially consist of 2+2 = Jell-o, so if you have higher nerding capabilities than me, please do fill me in as I would be very interested in hearing the community's overall opinion on this.
I know of course that when speaking of a specific encounter, much of it will depend upon the accompanying strategy, but as a whole, should I be rolling with Mastery maxx'd come hell or high water?
I would say being some where around 140-150k unbuffed when you start stacking aviodance is a good goal to shoot for but not crucial. Looking over you gear everything pretty much seems good the only thing id drop is the earthquake trinket. I find to to be pretty crappy and would take Leaden's Despair from Heroic stonecore over that or if you get exhalted with Hellscream's Reach you csn get Mirror of Broken Images which is amazing.
Hi all, so I've been reading a lot on disc priests both here and on some other forums and I have a few questions. Keep in mind, I'm asking questions for this stuff with the upcoming changes assumed to pass so not how stuff is on live now).
1) How mandatory are 3/3 points in Mental Agility? As disc, our only instants are shield (and not often at that, so 3/3 points seems a waste) and PoM, which again, is for AoE and isn't very spammable. Barrier as well, but, even if cast once every two minutes I don't know if the mana saving on that is significant enough to toss it in the discussion. It possibly is... I dunno.
2) I was wondering if someone could comment on this particular spec and whether or not it would be viable... mainly as a tank healer but sometimes as a raid healer as well. The spec: WoW Talent Calculator - Sigrie I'm curious as to whether the 2 points in SoL will be worth it... will SoL proc often enough to justify 2 points - because 1 point in that talent would be a waste imo. Also, again, how often does Inspiration proc and is it a good thing to take? THe idea is that those last 4 points in the holy tree could be redistributed to fill out 2/3 or 3/3 Mental Agility and/or 2/3 or 3/3 Darkness.
Granted that AA/Arch spec may not be the best but I really enjoy the playstyle which is why I'm deciding to keep those in the spec. I am gearing for Crit, Mastery and then Haste so I can keep up the tank easily with big GHeals and DA's.
Any comments, with underlying reasons explain, would be greatly appreciated.
OK I figured it would be helpful to post here because I have achieved 2639 haste rating with no 372 loot and still a few blue pieces. My avg iLvL is 358 and my guild is 12/12. Just giving this info as a reference for what progression you might have to get for it to be obtainable, also I am an engineer which I think is pretty important because of the bad choice of helms for warlocks, I use the +208 hit/haste combination for my cogs. Id also like to mention I have top parses for * 10 man * Bastion, BWD and Four winds as both UA and Demonology(top 10 world wide OR top 10 for my class at the time of kill, and pushing to make top 10 world for all fights.)
The reason I post here instead of the UA/Demo thread is because while those are the two specs I've played I want to play Destro also and I see that many of the warlocks in top guilds(which I treat more valuable than someone with top parses for obvious reason) have a lot of crit and even reforged haste -> crit which obviously means they arent attempting to hit 2639. Im torn because to me it seems like Destro would benefit the most from getting 2639 because of the way conflag works with immolate but yet crit is still taken, in raids I am around 20% crit which seems like more than enough to get 3 crits out of Demon Soul.
I find it interesting that the uptime on Hurricane seemed so much higher than Landslide with just one enchant. However, with the other enchant being Avalanche, it makes me wonder if an Avalanche proc can in turn proc the spell portion of Hurricane. I know for a fact that Recuperate ticks can proc it, and Avalanche procs are indeed nature (spell) damage. Hmm...
I have had Hurricane proc on Bandaging myself as well. Unfortunately, don't have a log to prove it. But it has happened on more than one occasion with no other ticks going (was after a wipe in a Heroic. Zoned in and started bandaging, and Hurricane procced).
I am a dw frost dk 353 ilvl how many ppl are actually using the darkmoon hurricane card? I haven't seen many ppl with it and do not want to equip it if it is worthless. I am currently using the hellscream trinket and the heroic version of right eye of rajh. I heroics i can pull 17-19k on single target bosses but in raid environments i avg 12-14k. I see the amount of proccing the darkmoon card does but is it enough oomph to boost dps in a raid?
