I have 2 rings that both have crit on them, same with my cloak. Is it even worth getting the Valor ring and cloak? because those have mastery on them, And I guess it was concluded that mastery really kinda sucks? but i'm not sure if this is a big deal for the amount of stam/int/spirit/haste(from regforging) boost from 346 to 359. Or I might just save my valor to see what I get from BWD and BoT the next couple weeks?
One of the major flaws in this thread is a) how Revealing Strike is recomended, and b) glyph choices due to this.
RvS should only be used when you have 4 combo points and are about to do a Rupture or Evis (it has no effect on SnD). Currently, it is estimated that you will only suffer a 100 DPS lose for not using RvS at all.
This is horribly untrue, RvS leaves a 15second debuff; meaning, you can get up SnD, then hit RvS for your first(or second, depending on Ruthlessness) then go on to SS until 5combo points, and rupture without it dropping off. Ofcorse it can be used anywhere before 5 combo points (and currently, pre-4.0.6, is not worth using after 5). having RvS active for EVERY finisher, rather than just some, (depending on Glyph of Sinister Strike) i would assume to be more of a dps increase, and a must for one of the 3 primary glyphs. I would like to see some data on glyph choices. Currently i see glyph of sinister strike a absolute must, hands down. Im skeptical about AR, due to it only being 5 extra seconds on a cooldown that i was only able to use 3 times on a 6 minute fight. I personally feel that Glyph of SS, glyph of RvS, and glyph of SnD are much better choices for sustained dps.

Using it any time before 4 gives you a chance of losing a combo point from a SS proc, which is a dps loss compared to an RvS buffed finisher. At 4 combo points, the one point from RvS will put you right at 5 with no chance for a lost proc.
i am in afghanistan and they have wowhead blue coat proxied so i can not see anything linked to wowhead. all i would like is a list of what each dif weapon enchant for a enh shaman is i.e. landslide, berserking etc. and what they actually do because i see blizzard has added a few new ones and idk what they do. thank you for your help and sorry if this is a stupid request.
I was wondering... [Buc-Zakai Choker] is apparently BiS for pally tanks, is this the same for prot warriors as well?
Definitely not. If you want mastery, go with [Rage of Ages]. The hit rating makes this a better choice.
If you want to minimize damage taken, go with [Ironstar Amulet] which has a lot more dodge rating than the other two necklaces have mastery rating.
Before I ask my question I would like to simply state that I have read every thread on the topic and could not discover the information myself.
I recently switched to Affliction and am following the guide to the letter. In terms of the spell priority should we open a fight with the same tactic? I simply ask because i was unsure weither or not Shadow Embrace effects dots on the target or simply dots placed on the target after.
If it is the latter would it be beneficial to open with SB Soul Fire (Current patch not 4.0.6) then cast three Shadow Bolts to the maximum Shadow Embrace and then follow the spell priority or would this result in a DPS loss.
Any assistance or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Many things can increase your AP. The biggest increase alone is using a potion of Tol'vir, which gives an incredible amount of AP for a short time. Then you have for flask 300 agi, good another 90 agi various raid. Hunter's mark is another 1772 ap.
According to FD I should have close to 20k ap.
It is one thing to say "I have 20k ap including hunter's mark, a potion of Tol'vir, and full raid buffs". It is quite another just to state "I have 20k ap". Since raid buffs vary from 10 man to 10 man, I assume that the fairest way to compare AP values is to quote the unbuffed value. Potion of Tol'vir lasts for what, 20 seconds? Why would you include that boost in your AP?
In conclusion, my armor is fully gemmed and enchanted, however, I think it is counter productive to quote a fictitiously large AP without specifying that you are including boosts from Hunter's Mark, Raid Buffs, and for the love of god, a Potion of Tol'vir. We should be more specific in the future to reduce confusion.
