The EP values should still be the same, just the caps you have to reach are obviously much lower. So yes reforge the excess hit into better stats.

With reforging being implemented I find myself confused in terms of how to prioritize stats.

I am playing as SV and from what I understand, there needs to be some balance between all the stats, but I cant seem to find the proper numbers. Obviously you need to be hit capped before anything else, but what comes next? Do I reforging for Crit first? If so, how much before going to other stats?

From what I been reading "Crit is favored over Mastery with current gear, while Haste is somewhat less clear but is likely better than Mastery." Is that still correct?

Thank you

When i played with reforgings i found somethinng interesting - at one point reforging 55 haste rating to 55 crit rating gave me 72 dps. Is that some kind of a mistake?

Crit (31.01% - showed), (36.93% on target)
Haste rating from items - 729
Showed speed bonus - 5.69%
Effective speed bonus - 24.58%

55 haste rating ---> 55 crit rating

Crit (31.32% - showed), (37.24% on target)
Haste rating from items - 674
Showed speed bonus - 5.29%
Effective speed bonus - 24.07%

+72 dps?????

All real world tests I've done seem in line with the theorycrafted optimal setup of gemming int, reforging haste, gearing haste > crit > mastery. This being for 25mans. For 10mans, I'm not sure, there's a good case for getting 2k haste and rolling riptides, but heavy crit also has some benefit to it. In the end, however, you're still a liability going into 10man heroic fights, and another priest/paladin would do the job better. Sometimes also a druid (conclave).

Post 4.0.6, unless there's a slew of changes on the PTR, there really is no reason to bring a shaman for 10man heroics, much less than there even is right now. For 25man, one might be advisable, however such a person should be fully spirit stacked, as assuming 7 healers, every point of spirit is multiplied about 2,5x when considering raid benefit, meaning the Shaman gears partly for regen so the real healers don't have to.

Aldrianna said, in this thread or elsewhere, that 4.0.6 will theoretically bring Combat ~4-5% over Assassination. But, actually, rotation and fights disparities being taken into account, Combat should still be behind by ~6-11%.

DPS per talent point has been calculated, again by Aldrianna and someone else, a few pages back. As long as I recall, the cookie-cutter builds haven’t changed at all, so it’s safe to think that Ruthlessness > Quickening for Combat

[e]: Been looking around in order to assess my claims, but I can’t find DPS per talent point for 4.0.6 Combat. But, again, as cookie-cutter builds haven’t changed, it seems that Ruthlessness > Quickening, whatever it may change to your enchants.

[e2]: Corrected figures. Thanks, Doksav.

(I can’t recall the exact figures, but I’m pretty confident they were of that order.)
Your numbers actually aren't very close to Aldriana's at all: http://elitistjerks.com/f78/t111329-...8/#post1849250

As for raid healing, the glyph of PoH is an additional HoT placed on the targets of PoH and is neither affected by mastery nor affects mastery in any way. The mastery hot is calculated based on the heal amount of the prayer. Unlike the PoH glyph hot if you cast 2 poh's in succession the glyphed hot is not recalculated and only reapplied. So you do lose the initial glyphed hot but not the initial mastery hot.

Mastery is good also for raid healing as it once again directly increases your HPM and HPS without any affect on mana cost.
therin lies a problem. and I agree arrelliana, some logs you see druids and shammys, even, quite effective.

what happens is too much overheal spam. If ... priests (I am one btw, holy and disc) look to realize that ok, target (s) are at 10-20k needed healing, and have rejuv wg glyph and mastery already stacked on them ticking away.. the target probably doesn't need healing. Go hit a tank up instead.

The problem right now is that POH by itself, without regard to a properly (gasp) placed renew, and a bit of mastery and the glyph destroys healing from the latter.

Right now thats a problem, and its sorely manifested in bad set up healing groups, toss in three or four healing priests...doing the same thing. Yeah, guess what happens.

a far cry from an effective 13percent overheal via mastery, hots and glyphs and direct heals.

what we see now is a haste spam fest =( didn't think i'd say it, but nerf poh is good.

Could someone here calculate Earthern Vitality/Lavawalker vs. Haste on boots for me. I'm using EV on boots, but I honestly have little idea about which one is better and when.

You would have to align that Int proc to DP to make it effective, and you can't tell when exactly that's going to happen. I'd say not even close to being useful.

Yes the Mandala will have a Int-Proc, so it's nearly the same as the PT-Enchant so you should read the according discussion (starting here)

As others have mentioned, with the reduced mana cost of Fireball we may no longer need to scorch weave. I'm thinking that maybe we could use one or both points in improved scorch somewhere else. I see a lot of mages not taking cauterize, so maybe this is an opportunity to pick up it back up?

Trinkets Question

I am combat spec, expertise capped, spell hit capped and currently sitting at 2018 haste.

I have the fluid death trinket already.

Would I be better off using the [Darkmoon Card: Hurricane] or is [Prestor's Talisman of Machination] still better?

I am concerned with the possible energy capping issues when the Prestor procs and my haste jumps up to 3944.

I'm Russian, sorry for my bad English

I've read some pages, but still didn't found an accurate answer:
How much cp to use Rupture? Considering energy proc and VW.
For example: 5cp - 100%, 4cp - 100,3%, 3cp - 101%, 2cp - 102%, 1cp - 103%.
<35% hp, is that worst to use BS 'till 5cp or just rupture/env with 4cp (~1sec Env buff left)

Okay, I used env, then mut and gain 3cp, my energy about 10-15, my env buff about to fall, should I use mut then env, or just Env? I know, 4cp+, but still. It feels (just a feeling) like most of the times 3cp better that 4cp.

Off topic. Armory, does it make sense to use these [Bloodthirsty Gladiator's Leather Spaulders] instead of these [Embrace of the Night] (2 piece bonus)

P.S. Thank you.
