This has been answered on numerous occasions, including in this very thread.

In other words: No, you cannot roll/refresh Immolate indefinitely using Fel Flame to maintain any kind of temporary player buffs.

Maybe I am just really bad...but I cannot ever achieve simcraft or rawrs dps, not even close

simcraft/rawr gives me around 15-16k dps....but I can barely achieve 11k on a dummy.

is this the same for everyone?

Imo you shouldnt need a macro to stop casting. Just kick the spell and use wind shear right after you kick and go back to dpsing. Seems a lot easier in my mind and thats what ive been doing as I am the designated interrupter on a lot of fights as well.

Do you have all of the raid buffs checked off in rawr/simcraft? If your solo'ing a dummy it won't have all the debuffs you'd find in a full raid (and you won't have all the buffs).

I believe it was found that it would be a DPS increase, especially once 4.0.6 comes as Soulburn Soul Fire isn't required anymore to keep up the 15% haste.

I'm a little confused now...

So I'm getting confused as heck here, and I'll explain why. My paladin's a MT for my guild and I'm at ilevel 356 - basically access to Heroic & craftable & rep epics.

Reading the Cata 4.x field manual, (and as before) it's clear we seek to reach 102.4% avoidance. To reach this value, it's evident that the fastest way to reach that is to stack mastery which will up our block (which has no apparant block cap atm). This will account for the most direct and largest factor in the 102.4% range of dodge+parry+block. The field manual suggest some guidelines/rules such as: #1 Get 26 expertise, reforge if necessary. #2, Get hit capped (8%), reforge if necessary. #3 once #1 & #2 have been satisfied, reforge into mastery up to 102.4%.

My stats are as follows and I'm not sure where to go because of my confusion.
Defensive stats: 9.98% dodge, 13.02% parry (this can go up to 18.02% with impetuous query trinket 1PPM on USE) and 46.76% block.
Offensive stats: 4.04% hit, 25 exp, 18.36 mastery, 2.14% crit, 0 haste. (who cares about crit & haste)

Now I'm getting confused because as I'm reading through the posts - being in a MT position - I shouldn't be worried about threat because of vengence. If that's the case now I'm wondering about tossing my hit out the window in order to reforge to mastery to up my block and better mitigate incomming damage. But.. if I miss a SotR, then I wont be generating much threat. To confuse me even more (which is probably due to me not knowing the mechanics behind the software) I like to use RAWR to see my potential gear upgrades and what it suggests I change. RAWR seems to be trying to tell me to +expertise, and +hit via reforging or even using DPS/PVP gear. Is rawr right ? Should I be following the rules and get 26 experitise, 8% hit, THEN focus on upping my mastery for block ? Or should I be thinking about putting up my mastery ASAP in order to get closer to the 102.4%

With all the different thoughts, comments, RawR suggestions - I'm starting to get lost. I dont have access to all the high end gear as we're stuck starting to raid and are barely 2/12 atm. I'm just trying to understand how I should better myself with what I have access to.

Thanks for any illumination

Well assuming I did this correctly - even adjusting the base mana cost down by 50% in WrathCalcs, the DPE/DPM on typoon is still waaaaay behind our other nukes/dots. (eg 3042/1.74 vs 8867/8.59 for wrath). So no.

With the impending patch, is 1.66 cast time for cobra shot still the goal? If so, it looks like we'll need less haste with 4pT11 but everything else will remain the same as far as prioritizing our stats?

So zooming out and seeing where Redcape's 20444 dps number fits with respect to all the other dps classes, and comparing that number to say State of DPS, and ignoring buff/nerf to all other classes, the patch changes look like a significant jump relative to today's top 200 adjusted average parse. I haven't spent sufficient time on the PTR evaluating this myself due to time constraints and hearing the PTR build is lacking the complete change. Hoping everybody is still feeling pretty good about the change dps-wise (aside from the perceived slower HP generation and associated boredom). Thoughts?

Tired of seeing DK's and Survival hunters laugh their way to the top. Hoping others are at least still slightly optimistic about 4.0.6 =)

Well, first time posting. Here it goes:

On the DOT section of the guide, it is recommended that we always cast IS then MF when entering either eclipse, so that moonfire gets the NG haste buff.

Considering that the first cast of MF procs lunar shower, I'm thinking that reapplying MF/SF is a dps increase, overall, while wasting only one more gcd:

if you do IS -> MF/SF, you get:

no-NG IS + MF/SF direct damage and buffed ticks on MF/SF

if you do MF/SF -> MF/SF -> IS, you get:

MF/SF direct damage + lunar shower buffed MS/SF direct damage + nature's grace buffed ticks on both dots.

Any thoughts on this?
