Hello all..
This is my first post and maybe noobish, but i've looked and read a lot on here and appreciate all the hard work everyone has put in to the site..
I just started playing Wow in October... right now playing combat, and wanted to know wouldnt it be beneficial to talent deadly momentum to keep slice n dice up when going against big mobs in heroic dungeons? right now my Item level is 339 and maybe i just need more practice, but i always find myself trying to keep up snd. Also when you use rupture isnt it supposed to put the icon up top by your mini map? I would like to keep it going while facing bosses, i have no way of telling when it's out..
Last noob question I have is when enchanting weapons, does it make it where you cant put poison on them?
I haven't done any raids yet and still learning my rogue so doing heroic dungeons for now...
Thanks
Ryan

With Assassination, you're following your standard rotation, and you really shouldn't be capping whilst throwing out Envenoms over and over (even if you're clipping, it's not a big deal).
As with Combat, you can't do anything about it, bad luck (tl;dr).

I think I've expressed myself bad, now i can see it. So clipping envenom is better than throw a mutilate and waste cp, that was the answer i was looking for thx!

Sorry if this has been posted before, I tried searching for it but couldn't find anything.
With the upcoming changes to Fire Mastery (Flashburn (Mastery) benefit per mastery has been increased by 12%.) will mastery start to become something that is sought after or will it remain to be low on priority?

To be honest, I frequently wonder about haste's true value as Frost DW.
Consider (OP) answered the question quite thoroughly. Being of unsound mind, I dislike using quotes, so I'll paraphrase his results.
In Tier 11 gear and the like, You're most likely to be GCD capped, meaning your runes will regen too fast for you to use all of them. Under such a scenario, any haste above what it takes to be GCD capped only does one thing, increase your melee attack speed, which, in turn, increases your KM procs. KM procs are nice, but let's consider that haste diminishes as you get more of it, rather than increasing exponentially. Let's also remember that Crit increases exponentially. as such, the more of it you have, the more valuable it gets (theoretically). Crit also Makes KM procs less useful, as you gain more of a chance to get the same results without any proc at all. This means that the added KM procs would have a lesser effect since Crit is there, making you less reliant on them.
In essence, the more crit you have in your gear, the more valuable it gets.
Inversely, if you aren't GCD locked, you may find haste giving you more of a benefit than crit.
The stat weights on the first page are most likely run through a Sim in full BiS gear. BiS gear has unavoidable amounts of haste, most likely giving you all the haste you need for the GCD lock.
One could derive that it's generally a good idea to experiment with slight amounts of haste while wearing lower ilevel gear if one is not GCD locked. However, it is by no means worth reitemizing and reforging ALL of your gear for.

The first ExT to trigger will override any later ones. If adds are moving over a fairly large area the hunters will have to spread out their traps if they choose to keep using them.

And for your own safety, after getting mark wait 3-4 seconds, use FD, wait for 1-2 seconds then cast Deterrence and check whether meteorite hits you or not.

Acquiring Target can be dropped with Feign, but it bugs the boss and boss targets someone else sometimes and fire after FD.
Magmaw Heroic - Hunter Kiter Notes
- Distracting Shot is not working on big add but they are tauntable. Therefore, don't waste your GCD, hit with damage spells only.
- Do not use Aspect of the Cheetah before reaching downstair ladders on the kite way, otherwise sometimes Lava Spit dazes you and add graps you. Always close AotC every time you hit on the Platform where raid is.
- Magmaw's stun event range is larger than its animation. Therefore, even you are staying away from the animation do not stand on the way of it or you will be stunned and add will grap you.
Twilight Ascendant Council / Elementium Monstrosity
- Do not use disengage at all, it removes the debuff requiring for Storm.
|
Will have to test again, only tried it on what turned out to be our first kill. Thinking back many other factors could have made it fail or look to have failed.
Disengage tip could be useful in some extreme circumstances, involving noobing up and getting lightning rod ahem.

Yes. As only one ET debuff can be on the target, it will pick the most powerfull one (AKA the hunter with most AP, which also generally means the best gear). That is how I understood the mechanic, atleast - it might be the first one to trigger, we haven't tested it alot, but usually my trap was always the one to go off on Halfus HC, and now that my gear is a bit behind our other hunters, his is the dominant one.
Alternatively on cho'gall, though, if you find the adds surviving for a long time and coming close to the raid, they can shoot their traps at two different locations, one right where they spawn and one closer to the raid, so they both benefit without overlapping each other.

So looking at the data you guys have been posting my optimal rotation should be:
SW:P
DP
VT
MF till orbs and evangelism
MB
Refresh
Is this correct? I realize that you should use shadow fiend and SW at times as well.
I am kind of new to dungeon and raiding as DPS I have been a healer mostly ( hence the name) so any help would be appreciated.
I also see that Mind Spike is not considered very good to use but I have been using a rotation like this:
MS
MS
MB (basically becomes instant cast)
SW:P
DP
VT
MF until orbs and evangelism
MB
MF or refresh DOTs
I have been using this on trash a lot for the burst damage especially when they are dying before my DOTs have a chance to to start stacking.
Also, reading the scaling data in the forums about haste versus hit and mastery, I can't tell if you are saying that I should still look to increse haste as my second most important stat or not, can someone clarify for me?
Sorry about the noob questions I hope I am asking in the proper forum section.

I cannot say for certain, but a check should be pretty easy. Bring 25 % crit chance, an ele shaman and a fire mage. This should bring you to either 95 % or 105 % against a level 80 (not 83 though). Your first non crit confirms that the 5 % crit on target isn't trippled, if you are unable to get a hit (in many tries) it is trippled.
