3.0.1 Rogue Changes
So according to "http://www.wowhead.com/?blog=73335#rogue" these are the supposed rogue changes which result in a very nice DPS increase to Mutilate as well as Combat.
What's everyone think about this?
"Hunger For Blood – instead of a self-buff, this ability can only be used when there is a bleed effect on the target. However, it has no stacks and grants a 15% damage bonus.
Adrenaline Rush – the cooldown on this ability has been lowered.
Lightning Reflexes – reduced to 3 ranks. In addition to 2/4/6% dodge, this talent now also grants 4/7/10% passive melee haste.
Killing Spree – while this ability is active, the rogue does 20% additional damage.
Savage Combat – now causes 2/4% physical damage done.
Mace Specialization – this talent now grants haste in addition to armor penetration."

I have a problem with my character. I've played a protection warrior since Zul'Gurub back in September 2006. I have never got bored of playing it. I was really happy when I read that they want to make all tanking classes equally capable of tanking all encounters. My guild cleared all Wrath content within 2-3 weeks of release, and the only thing left to do were achievements. So we went to do Sartharion +3.
This is where I realised that "all tanks are equal" was a catchy tune Blizzard played to mislead us. No raid leader in their right mind will have a warrior tank Sartharion if they can have a druid do it. Larger health pool, more armor. Or a death knight - better and shorter "oh crap" cooldowns make it easier to survive massive breaths. So where does that put me? I tank all blue drakes, so I have a spot in the raid. Now take a 10-man version of the fight. Our successful kill was done with a druid tanking Sartharion and a paladin tanking everything else. Last week (no pala tank online) we tried doing it with me tanking adds and drakes. It was hard. There was almost always an add going for someone, making me move to reach it with either Thunder Clap, or Taunt, or Heroic Throw, or Shockwave. I can't leave a consecration. move somewhere else and watch mobs go for me. Conclusion - a paladin is better for that job.
Why this rant? I think warriors are the worst tanks now. And 3.1 changes don't change my point of view.
Why don't I have the armor and health of a druid? Why don't I have cooldowns of a death knight? Why don't I have AoE abilities of a paladin?
I have 41k health, about 7k less than a druid in the raid. My Shockwave has 10 yard range, while Bloodboil has 30 yards. I do less damage while tanking than a druid. My abilities (Demo Shout, Battle Shout, Commanding Shout) can be replaced with other abilites (Demo Roar, Blessing of Might, Blood Pact). More Paladins in raid mean more blessings. More warriors in raid mean nothing. A feral druid in raid means +5% crit chance and a combat res. Why aren't these abilities reaplaceable with other abilities from other classes? I had Thunderclap, but now a druid has Thunderclap built in! So even my debuffs are meaningless now.
Thanks Blizzard for making us useless.

I think for productivity's sake we should probably try to keep this thread a bit more cut and dry, more questions and (attempts at)answers, less speculation and venting.

I was just thinking about the upcoming dual-spec abilities. IMHO, we're goint to be told "2nd skill tree --> resto".
I just thought about becoming a feral-DD (farming, PVP, some bosses still to come).
OK, I will need to collect 2 complete gears, but why not?
Or maybe it will be more helpful to have some kind of "max-DPS" setup, and a less mana-intense setup; both moonkin?
What are your ideas about dual-speccing?

What is a better pet to have for dps? A cat or raptor? I have been using a cat since level 11, But, I also hear that raptors are better in dps?

Hello,
First off: thx Manly and others who contributed to this thread!
Second: simple question: is it better to stack haste or crit with an (57/3/11) Arcane build? I'm leaning towards haste, but I'd like to know if I missed something.
Thanks

DPS build
Hi guyz, my best exp doin raid dps after havin tried out 51/13/7 with 2hander was DW with 0/31/40. Yes, not 0/32/39.
With same equip and neither mastery (20/26) nor hit capped (346 hit) any more, i roughly do 400-500 more dps.
So i am workin on gettin better gear (naxx 25) and maxin out mastery and hit again. Should give a nice dps boost.
Greetings

its just sad to see yellow damage nerf and white damage buff. BORING. all we rogues are gonna end up being is sustained white damage with poison procs and so so yellow damage. what about the big crits!!! gonna miss those days. maybe they tryin to entice pvp rogues goin back to ambush spec and all the cooldowns that come with it.
i do hope mutilate spec still be the choice of dps, i mean.. its the only spec i dont fall asleep with while raiding. plus its fun and can be skillfull keeping up Rupture/HoB and Cut to the Chase, especiallly on certain encounters. Maximizing DPS is the name of the game.
At least it better be on par with the new Combat so not every rogue is strugging to get the same weapons....

These answers for the warlock threat problems of "UR t^Nk sUxxorZ" are ridiculously funny.
I could stand back away from Thaddius and not get any buffs, and still take threat from MOST tanks (buffed).
SS is complete crap compared to other classes aggro dumps, and its CD is completely insane, virtually ensuring that it cannot be done twice in an encounter.
It looks as though afflocks end up with about 1.25 - 1.3 / 1 dps threat, so on any fight where we do significantly more damage than the tank, threat will be a problem.
