Firs time here, so if my math is way off, chop my head off gently please.
Patch 4.0.6 brings about a lot of changes, and some serious frost nerfs. I will try to do a breakdown of the glyphs based on how Frost PvE damage was (and will be) spread, but i have a thin number of logs to lean on.
Boss dummies are no longer frozen by deep freeze, allowing for easier ingame testing, so some more accurate damage spreads should be available soon.
Based on the few old combat logs i could dig up, my damage was spread possibly somewhat like this:
Note: Tried to combine FoF with FFB, causing over 80% critrate with FFB. This playstyle may no longer be optimal.
Glyphs:Molten Armor, Deep Freeze, Frostfirebolt, normalized, pre 4.06:
FB: 33%
DF: 25%
IL: 22%
FFB: 16% (ignite included)
FFO: 4% (ignite included)
TOTAL: 100%
Unglyphed, non-normalized, pre 4.0.6:
FB: 33%
DF: 20,8%
IL: 22%
FFB: 13,9%
FFO: 4%
TOTAL: 93,75%
Unglyphed, normalized, pre 4.0.6:
FB: 35,2%
DF: 22,2%
IL: 23,5%
FFB: 14,8%
FFO: 4,3%
TOTAL: 100%
Unglyphed, non-normalized, 4.0.6:
FB: 38%
DF: 15,1%
IL: 22%
FFB: 12,1%
FFO: 4%
TOTAL: 91,14%
Note: This is calculated from "Unglyphed, non-normalized, pre 4.0.6", and suggest an overall damage nerf of about 2,8% with patch 4.0.6.
Unglyphed, normalized, 4.0.6:
FB: 41,6%
DF: 16,6%
IL: 24,1%
FFB: 13,3%
FFO: 4,4%
TOTAL: 100%
*Glyph of Deep Freeze*
As expected, Deep Freeze got hit massively by the nerf bat. Predicting DF to be now 16,6 % of my damage (unglyphed).
The Glyph still adds over 3 percent damage, making it a rather strong Prime Glyph.
*Glyph of Frostfirebolt*
FFB is expected to make out 13,3% of my damage after 4.0.6. This is assuming one still attempts to FoF FFB when possible. Gut tells me I shouldn't. If I don't, i predict FFB damage to go down by 40% or so, and same with the Glyph.
The Glyph now adds a little under 2 percent damage, assuming it's still viable to FoF the FFB. If one plays to avoid stacking FFB with FoF, the Glyph is worth around 1,2 percent damage. Somewhat weak.
Note: FFB dot not taken into consideration
*Glyph of Icelance*
IL is expected to make out 24,1% of my damage after 4.0.6. It hasn't gotten much stronger, but other spells have gotten weaker.
The Glyph still seems somewhat weak on paper. 1,2 percent damage. I just hope my math is right.
*Glyph of Molten Armor*
Assuming you're able to keep spamming Frostbolt with Molten Armor on, this glyph is quite awesome. Once you reach the SoftCritCap, this glyph will be less valuable. If you reforge crit to mastery, this Glyph still allows you to gain 2 mastery levels, increasing all damage vs frozen targets with 5%.
As long as DF and IL makes out more than 40% of your damage, this glyph is worth at least 2% damage increase, more if you're not yet at the SoftCritCap.
*Glyph of Frostbolt*
This looks nice. Assuming CritSoftCap, FB crit %: 34 -> 39, 134% -> 139%. 1% = 1,34. 139% / 1,34 = 103,73%.
3,73% more damage done with Frostbolt.
The Glyph adds somewhere close to 1,6 percent damage, making it interesting.
Conclusion: Glyph of Deep Freeze is still a must. Molten Armor is probably the 2nd strongest Glyph, if you have the mana pool for it. After that it's a close race between the other three. Glyph of Frostbolt is possibly the strongest at the moment. Once gear ilvl goes up, Glyph of Frostfire bolt is likely to overtake it.
