What I don't understand is how the figurine should out perform something like a heroic witching hour glass.
Generally ICD on proc trinkets are 3x their duration, so the hourglass should be at a 45s ICD. The proc on hourglass gives more spell power and has higher uptime, or am I wrong somewhere in this?
Has any math been done in reguards to the Might of the Frozen Wastes change? I would like to know if 2h frost has gotten any closer to dw frost damage. I have searched the entire death knight forum as well as as the frost dps thread to no avail.
While I agree that trying to stick to a 1.66s cast time with the 4 piece bonus is silly and that focus capping is worse now than before the patch you are dramatically overestimating how close Arcane Shot is to Explosive Shot damage now by comparing an AS crit to 3 non-crit ES ticks.
I agree here. It seems that with the T11 4 set, the new rotations are all 3xCrS + 1 AS/BA, and all haste thereafter is only beneficial for reducing the amount of time that your explosive is delayed. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I guess the question is then, if you cannot support the focus cost of 3xCrS + 1 Arcane every single time, is a 4th cobra worth delaying explosive?
I understand that with the patch haste's value has increased while crit's value decreased. However I am checking the guide and it is reforging for crit from haste. Also it is gemming for int/crit instead of int/haste.
I do have a question as well. Considering the fact that I am below hit rating which of these 3 trinkets would be the one to use (first trinket is [Darkmoon Card: Volcano] I don't think it will be removed especially considering it is reforged for hit).
was just curious if the main post was completely up to date? I have been following this thread for awihle, and the FCFS posted on the 1st post conflicts with what I had seen Redcape post a few pages back.
At the moment, I'm healing the MT, but he is typically taking little enough damage that I also help out with raid heals via WG and rejuvs in fights with any AoE going on. There is of course always the chance that I would switch myself to raid heals. It all depends on the fight of course. I've got a holy pally and a disc priest in there with me, and we're all willing to swap around as the fight demands.
In response to the discussion about glyphs.... I personally think Glyph of Stoneclaw is by far the superior glyph. As has been mentioned, you can anticipate damage and drop it, or even if you are low for a moment, this glyph can prevent you from dying until you can get topped up again. A perfect example is Nefarian - dropping Stoneclaw for each Electrocute is a big help, especially with so much raid healing required, and dropping it on phase transition to phase 2 can also help mitigate potentially lethal damage.
I had a few questions that I have researched and have been unable to find answers to.
First, has anyone been able to come up with some rough DEP values for our stats post 4.0.6? I am eager to know whether mastery is in fact the same or better than haste now, as I have reforged some mastery to haste. I know there is a list on TotemSpot, but this seems to now be out of date. Granted, the DEP values would change depending on how much of each stat you had at a given time, but all things being equal, I would be interested to know what the math shows. I unfortunately do not have the expertise to be able to draw out this information from a simulator.
My next questions are regarding Flame Shock and Fire Elemental Totem. A lot of the information I found (especially regarding the latter) is current as of many patches ago, and I wanted to know where they stand right now. In particular, when flame shock is cast, does it tick based on the spellpower at the time it was cast (i.e. do temporary buffs improve it's damage) or does it dynamically change based on your spellpower at any given moment? I read in some places that it keeps the spellpower value you had when you cast it; if so, does recasting it before it expires renew the original cast, or does a new DoT replace it with updated spell power values at the time it was cast a second time? In addition, how does haste affect it? I know that some DoTs for classes scale with haste, and that was a feature that was added to flame shock late in WoTLK, but does it roll with the same amount of haste as when it was cast, or does it dynamically change with your haste?
My questions regarding the Fire Elemental totem were along the same lines. Does it dynamically update with your spellpower and haste, or just when cast? This would have implications on when I drop the totem, and what procs/potions/trinkets I would try and coordinate with it, and whether I needed to be watching both spellpower AND haste to optimize the DPS of the totem. I would very much appreciate information regarding this.
My guild killed herioc magmaw last night and It was my first real test of my new dps. Since the fight changed dramatically I stayed static on magmaw instead of kiting. I am in some herioc gear and my trinkets are DMC: Hurricane and Herioc Heart of Rage. On the pull with pre pot and blowing all of my cd's I was destroying the dps meter and spiked up to 32k dps but the downside was I had to salv myself extremely fast and have another paladin salv me. Threat is certainly an issue for me. I believe the first tank was a DK who is well geared. He received tricks/misdirect also but it was just me and the warrior riding him on threat. We also did Baradin hold and it was the same issue.
