With this hot-fix now applied I wonder if Frost is equal yet or not, I'm not the type to run numbers so I can't be sure but it seems three UH abilities were hit and none of ours so it might be enough.

Death Knight (Forums / Cataclysm Talent Calculator / Skills/Talents)
The root that the Frost talent Chilblains gives to Chains of Ice is now properly affected by diminishing returns and shares diminishing returns with other root effects.
Dark Transformation now increases pet damage by 60%, down from 80%.
Death Coil damage has been reduced by 15%.
The pet damage bonus from Shadow Infusion is now 6% per stack, down from 8%.

Im going to ask a noobish question here. if i only have 2/3 in pathing and no 4set, then what should my haste be? Im currently at 781 haste (8.22% with pathing). I am also using the AiS glyph.
In raids with ISS and 10% my SS is at 1.48, outside with ISS 1.61. Should i aim to get SS to 1.5 outside of raids or?
All the calculations and theories have made me utterly confused so please, someone end my suffering :-)!

Hi, first time posting here. Got a question regarding trinkets usage for maximizing DPS.

I used to equip Theralion's Mirror and DMC: Volcano (reforged to Haste) for raids, and begin fights with a FS, then EM + Synapse Springs + LvB (both CD macroed together), then continue the normal elemental rotation. Recently, I've acquired Heart of Ignacious, and have been testing it out a little. The problem I run into now is that upon activating Heart of Ignacious - it puts my Synapse Springs on CD (for ~12s I believe) and vice versa.

My question is which sequence should I be using to maximize DPS (for a normal, minimal movement fight)
1) EM + Synapse Springs at the start, then after the 12s CD, activate Heart of Ignacious
2) EM + Heart of Ignacious at the start, then after the 12s CD, activate Synapse Springs
3) FS > LvB > 3x LB, then EM + Heart of Ignacious > etc etc

I've tried all 3 sequences on a dummy 5 times each, and yielded an average of 16-18k. Result didn't seem concrete as to which is 100% better. The problems I see with sequence #2 is Heart of Ignacious takes a little time to charge 5 stacks of the buff, so I won't have 5 stacks up right at the start, whereas sequence #1 I do by the time Synapse Springs is over.

And sequence #3 I'm not benefiting from the entire duration of Power Torrent proc, since it usually procs early. By the time I stack to 5 charges and popping the CDs, Power Torrent is over (or almost over) and on its 45s ICD already.

To me, sequence #1 seem the most logical rotation to activate my CDs... but again, testing all 3 five times each (for 5 min each time) resulted in scattered results between 16-18k. Maybe blame RNG? : /

Or maybe I should be using a completely different trinket combination instead? I have the following available:
DMC: Volcano (Current)
Heart of Ignacious (Current)
Theralion's Mirror
Bell of Enraging Resonance
Tyrande's Doll
*LB gets pushed to 0.954s cast, with EM + HoI + Bloodlust up. Small interval only, not sure how badly does pushing below GCD affect my overall DPS
*Didn't used Bell of ER before patch, haven't used it after patch. It just seemed like a bad choice out of everything I have

I noticed yesterday that Earthliving crits now proc Ancestral Healing, which I believe they did not do prior to 4.0.6. It was during a raid, so I didn't have a chance to get a clean log. I'll supply that later.

[Bell of Enraging Resonance] Procs SP, as opposed to [Theralion's Mirror] proc of mastery.

So, the sp proc + crit, outweighs the mastery proc + int

In fact they did before. Both Riptide and Earthliving tick crits provided ancestral fortitude even before 4.0.6.

Hey, first time poster here with a quick question:

Since i'm running with the very same 9 people in my raid, i was wondering if switching from MM to SV was worth the loss of the 10% haste, in favor of gaining the 10% AP (though not for all fights since we have a DK offtank)

Also, not really hunter related but maybe someone knows. I was asking our shaman if he could drop WF totem so to cover the loss of Hunting Party, and he said - No, that stacks with the shadowpriest's 5% haste
Is that true ?

Anyone else noticed a bug with Surge of Light when you only have spend one point in it?

I have noticed the same, and I think it's a little too much coincidence that 6% x 3% = 0.18%, I guess their faulty code looks something like this..

With regards to which Trinkets to use, use the simulator. As for the Heart proc order, I would set-it up for after Synapse Springs with the start of EM, as the 20% damage multiplier will benefit from the extra Intel of the Synapse Springs with the 5-stacked +power of Heart.

As for the haste pushing LB to .954, it's not necessarily a DPS loss, but rather an over-allocation of points. Having a .954 second cast versus a 1 second cast doesn't have much of an impact, as the only thing still affected at that point is the FS dot. You could potentially reforge some of your non-CD based haste into Mastery in order to match LB with the 1 second cast if desired, but unless your LvB is at a 1 second cast without stacked haste cds, it's probably not top priority.

I have been playing around with sequencing Zeal, and AW the last few days.

Ability Priority for my testing was

TV
CS
HoW
EXO
Judge
HW
Con

For my testing I was self buffed, no food no flask.

From my DPS logs and and the general feel of the testing. using AW and Zeal at the same time is a overall loss of DPS, on my meters about 600.

I started off with baseline DPS using no CD's just normal with and yellow damage.

On the second test I used AW and Zeal together for two full cycles of CD's My dps was 13.7k I used the same set up to get to using AW /Zeal as what i lay out in the third test.

the third test I used AW, and Zeal separate. Started off with CS / GotAK macro i have. i do this to give the Guardian time to get his stack building. hit Inq with two HP. then start building my HP. once i hit three HP Inq was down so i used Zeal / Inq. Now I start laying in with CS followed but TV and using whatever filler of highest priority was up. After Zeal ended I immediately used AW and started building the HP stack. i usually get to two before the second effect ends. I did this for two full CD cycles. I trying to refresh Inq at three but sometimes if I think I can keep it up and i have five or more seconds left on the CD ill use a TV instead then refresh Inq with one HP and start the cycle over.

overall My dps from using AW and Zeal separate was 650 dps higher.
