I am very interested in the above test. I was thinking about a near identical setup for Atrimedes, since my nourish right now heals for almost exactly 10k and the super faster nourish would work perfectly for this fight.
I got a question, is affliction still viable after the removal of improved soulfire? i noticed i do much less dps after patch, have always been affliction and i love it but if its a loser spec atm i will give it up.
It seems to be the least DPS of the three specs, but not by such a margin that it's unplayable.
There is an interesting read here which sheds some light on some stealth DoT nerfs however. I'm curious of how legitimate it is.
Not having Epidemic in your spec gives you this exact scenario if you have Average or Below Average RNG. I've tested 0/1/2/3 over the past few weeks and honestly, my DPS stays within 1k of itself. It's insanely hard to figure out "what is the best?!" when we're heavily effected by RNG.
Now, to answer your question: When you have 0 points in Epidemic, Rime becomes a much higher priority on your list. You can NOT lose that proc or let FF fall off. At this point it becomes Diseases -> Rime if less than 3s on FF and not RP capped -> OB/KM proc if OB is up and you're not capped on RP -> FS.
It looks similar, yes, but there's more "weaving" required and you'll eat some over capped RP chances are. If FF has less than 4 seconds of up-time left, you have a KM proc and at 70 rp? Use OB/KM proc -> Rime.
What if you're at 90 RP with a KM and Rime proc and ~4 seconds left? Easy enough. FS/KM proc followed by Rime then OB->FS.
Not having Epidemic requires even more attention to procs/disease counter/runes because you're going to be making snap decisions. The goal, though, it is to not over cap RP. You'll have some people say "Always OB on a KM proc!" which I've personally found to lower my DPS because I just ate an additional FS by over-capping. Now, we're talking rather marginal numbers but we're here to min/max as best as possible.
What if you have no Rime proc? You'll have to burn a Frost Rune on HB, reapply PS at the same time so there is no time wait on that pair of runes.
Over-all, it's a more difficult time management spec and you will lower your DPS by having them fall off much sooner on fights like Cho'gal if you go kill the add and similar situations where you have to run off some where else. What do I mean by "lower your dps"? Again, it's marginal. It's around 1 or 2% from all my records on run around fights. Which, equates to about 300-500 dps. Not a killer by any means but I do know people that consider that a substantial decrease.
300~500 was the difference I had after running a few dungeons/hitting the dummy.
Maybe a full 372 character would do better with IBT, considering higher haste and mastery. Casting HB when it does more damage facing Ob, or when the rune regen isn't as slow as mine is seems less sacrificing.
I believe the default gem template for bears uses red, purple and blue gems. Check that the meta-gem requirements are still being met in your current gear if you swap out for a Mask of Vines with a red, purple, or blue gem.
It seems when I do slam when proc'd it drops my dps a bit. I was wondering if in any rotation then mine (RB-BT-slam if proc'd if not do battle shout- HS ( when over 50 rage) then a colassus smash when all on cooldown would work better with keeping slam in only if proc'd because it does high damage.
I fail to understand why you would put CS so low on the priority as it is a direct buff to the abilities used following it. All sims have shown that a "RB>BT>CS>..." rotation is superior to putting a Bloodsurge Slam higher than CS for the sole value of gaining the debuff.
Yours isn't correct either. CS is your highest priority, always. The only exception being an execute stack falling off in less than a GCD. Also, BT has a higher priority than raging blow, even for TG where RB's DPE > BT's DPE. You can fit 2x BT and a RB during CS. You can't if you reverse the priorities.
My action list is a couple pages back. If you found one that does more dps, please post it.
Should i reforge for Hit and exp cap before mastery or dodge? I am not even close to Hit cap but real clost to exp cap. I have asked several on my server and they all say that we dont have to anymore i just would like to know Tks
