This has been my concern since beta. Regardless of any damage buffs, the design of the arcane tree doesn't offer enough flexibility to compete, unless they buff it to the point of being overpowered DPS on a single target. Arcane's mobility could possibly be fixed if they increased the duration of the Arcane Blast debuff, allowed Arcane Missiles to be cast while moving, and removed the cooldown on Arcane Barrage. However, even if damage AND mobility were increased, the multi-target ability of Fire is going to be hard to lose unless Arcane is just
that much better on a single target.
