They're there now. You may have to refresh the item cache.

Haste, Crit or mastery?

What does haste actually give you? Quicker cast times - Run out of mana faster... 1,2 or 3 extra ticks on Riptide/Healing Rain or Earth-living Weapon? Sure, I can see the benefit of more ticks for Healing Rain, but in 10man, the chances are your not going to get 6 people in the AoE, so is this really effective? as for getting that extra tick for Riptide or ELW wasting points in haste? why? for an extra 2k health each? this will probably turn to overheal in most cases?

Crit? Relying on a crit heal to save a tank is never a good option in my opinion, so you could stack crit till 50% and that heal you really need to count....it doesn't?

Mastery? an interesting ability, useless if the "healee" is potentially full health, but life saving if less than 50%, so, why not change healing techniques? only heal some1 if they are less that 50% health...ok the other healer will probably top them up, let them..they will soon learn they can't do that all the time, you will then become an effective healer, Riptides on 3 people, yup, no benefit from mastery what so ever but mana cost is negligible, healing rain if you can, then burst heal with healing surge, I have no use for GHW or HW so slow at casting and Chain heal is... how can i say...your better off letting Riptide continue.

For people that think shamans are the weakest healers, take a look at the calculations i've done on my own gear...I must warn you though, they aren't completely accurate. The red Cells are to be change to your liking and compare what is best, for me Mastery is second to none. https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...thkey=CP2fvI4L

Cheers all happy healing ;-)

According to the hotfix notes, on Feb 9th DT has been further nerfed to +60% bonus, and Shadow Infusion now gives +6% per stack rather than +8%. i don't think that has been pointed out here yet. The OP should be adjusted with this new data.

Thanks Kavan but it appears to have the wrong stat values on them. For example Vibrant alchemist stone has 301 stamina rather than 301 intellect.

It is possible to change the stats yourself on items in rawr, so you could just edit the item and switch the stamina for intellect.

I'm sorry Zenius but I must disagree. Of course, if you look at only healing targets below 50% Shaman will be very strong. However, that just is not a viable way to heal in heroic encounters. You can't just let your target take damage till 50% then heal. And since one spell will not bring your target from 50% to 100%, mastery is only "best" for that first heal you cast. Sure, in certain situations I wished that I had more mastery. But that's what makes it a fickle stat for us. There are more situations that mastery is not as good as crit or haste than there are where mastery is best.

Also, crit is never stacked as a throughput stat. Crit is a regen stat, and is used mostly by Shaman raiding 10 man heroics, since haste is less useful in 10 mans and mana is a MUCH bigger concern. Crit is nice because it gives some throughput in addition to the regen it provides.

How has 2h frost been since patch? I've been trying to test for myself on dummies by swapping between the 2 (reforging and such between switching) and I'm noticing they're pretty close, just can't tell if the gap between them at this point is large enough to favor one over the other.

Hey guys, long time troll first time post. Last week I traded in my fury warrior for a unholy DK and my question is how importnat is expertise? I have 0 with my current gear and I reforge into haste then mastery. This week I was doing an average of 15-16k on Maloriak but I noticed that my glancing on SS and melee was around 36%. Any suggestions on if I should reforge into expertise? Will I have better DPS?

MM on Boss Dummy

Was curious to see the new MM so I went to the local target dummy with some fellow guildies. We all had a dps race on the boss Dummy and by far I destroyed them. Had a dk, boomy, war, and a loc Had 10% haste, 5% crit, and HoW up as buffs that worked for myself. Granted with CA our DPS is boosted significantly but, had a burst up to 33k then it surprisingly dropped only about 1k and min till around 24-25k and platued. I went for about 10 min. I had my doubts about the new MM but besides being extremely spuratic with waiting for procs and trying to keep up SrS it holds it own. The next highest dps was the dk at around 17k. So needless to say I'm not looking forward to the nerf our shots will be getting. That being said I also started stacking stats differently. Agi>Crit> haste> mastery. My theory being that the more SS's you get off the more AI procs you get. Right now, with my new t11 bonus my SS's unbuffed cast time is at 1.56, with ISS up it's 1.36 and with RF, ISS, ( I also have the glyph) I'm at .906 which is wasted but in my current rotation, AI takes priority and with cd's I can get it down to a 1.46 cast which is always nice and very painful being on the receiving end. I need to do some more tests for mastery. Debating loosing some haste for mastery at a certain point to see if the WQ will make up for the loss in haste. I know it was alot and very random at some points. Hope it helps some ppl.

wow this add on could be very useless. especially now that a lot more people are using loot counsel instead of other systems like DKP.

A point I'd like to raise about the new glyph:Glyph of Dark Succor - Item - World of Warcraft particularly with regards to shield stacking and offtanking and how 'stance dancing' may be optimal when not taking hits given the lack of compulsory Major Glyphs.

Tested this glyph on a dummy with two consecutive death strikes - in blood presence a shield amounted to around 15k absorb, in unholy presence it amounted to 30k. Given the increased rune regen rate of unholy it would be viable to stack shields in unholy presence on offtankable bosses - the Baradin Hold boss comes to mind - so that when we return to taking hits we have stacked up a shield to maximum strength. Our rune dump in this form would then be Death Coil. Thoughts?
