I feel like we are close to some major changes of the way we dps as DW frost. Unless this is unintentional by blizzard. I really enjoy reading and testing myself things. My only worry is if we'll have to gear completely differently as more findings come out.
Whatever the final verdict might be (either more hit to get more KM procs or more haste (??) as I saw in a post above) do you also feel that as DW frost we do NOT have a strong secondary stat that we really should stack? Ok, mastery is our thing but to boost what? HB and FS which are not our most hard hitting spells? As the OP says, we use it just because others are worse. Do you feel this is good design?
No currently, there should be no way of using it. It's true, that they changed the procc of Unheeded Warnting, but the additional weapondamage does not effect lavalash, windfury or stormstrike. Because of this, it's really not worth using it.
Our BiS Trinkets Fluid Death and DMC: Hurricane are easy to obtain. So pick them up and profit.
The problem is that the proc rate of DMC:H isn't all you need. Its damage varies based on a number of different factors and it is not at all clear what those are atm. In my personal logs it has consistently done 2% of my overall damage post patch, which is drastically down from the 4.5% it was doing before. In my current model that equates to roughly 420 dps, or 183 Str. You can just add the 183 Str to the base of 321 and look at it as a trinket that has 504 str and model from there. This is *not* perfectly accurate but it should give you data that is plenty good enough to choose trinkets.
My current modelling of Heart of Rage suggests that the proc is worth 385 Str due to the fact that it can regularly (not always, to be sure) be combined with AW/Zeal/GoAK so overall Heart of Rage is superior to DMC:H.
The same analysis on Crushing Weights ends up valuing it pretty much exactly the same as DMC:H, depending of course on how exactly you weight the advantage of syncing cooldowns with the proc.
Basically DMC:H is now very competitive with other 359 options but definitely worse than the heroic trinkets that drop in raids.
If anyone has the time and inclination to provide a bunch of data or even a complete formula for DMC:H damage procs I will be happy to incorporate it into my spreadsheet but since it is clearly not going to be important once the next tier of gear arrives I will not be doing that analysis myself.
Could you or someone please post an up to date list (since 4.0.6) of all available Retri-trinkets?
For me and 99% of the people it is all most impossible to calculate which trinket is BIS.
Or can someone explaine how to calculate the dps of trinkets?
your armorylink shows, that xou are wearing 2 pieces of t-10 (+5% more dmg)
..is it worth to wear 2 pieces t-10 or did you just do some testing with it?
I'm a tad disappointed that there's no option to allow Rawr to switch between Armor spells during the fight. Last night I tried running most of BWD in Molten, and found I ran OOM a lot. Someone suggested I use Mage instead, but I don't think they would have been willing to wait for me to re-glyph accordingly (I have Glyph of Molten Armor) and then take a gamble on how it would affect my DPS.
What I decided on instead was switching to Mage whenever I ran OOM, whether or not I could evocate right away, and then back to Molten when I was at full mana again. It seemed to work well (the Armors themselves are GCD and no mana), and I would have liked to use Rawr to compare the theoretical DPS against permanent Mage Armor on various fight lengths.
Can we get armor rotation implemented in Rawr? That way, even if my solution is wrong, at least you'll be able to prove it.
Okay so I've been reading this thread for quite a bit now.
I was a holy priest from vanilla and started on my resto sham only in Cata.
Anyway, I have 2 points/discussions/queries:
1.) Until yday, I stacked haste till 916 and a went all the way with crit. I was around 19-ish % unbuffed. Today, I read somewhere that the 2005 haste cap for another tick of Riptide was easily attainable. Sadly, with my gear I maxed out at 1676.
So, should I continue pushing for this 2005 haste rating or go back to crit? A lot say haste past the softcap is irrelevant if you don't get another extra tick. I usually do 10men and Riptide amounts for top quite a big chunk of heals.
2.) Trinkets, oh so many of em. Before 4.0.6 Core of Ripeness + MTT was super for me. Now the on use is pretty bleh.
So I have a choice of: Darkmoon Card (the best out of all I have, I think), Jar (it seems like Jar kinda sucks now....), Mandala and Core.
Does "Unheeded Warning" after patch changes is any good for hunter? Currently I have "Fluid Death" and "Demon Figure - Panther", I am thinking about changing the figure for this new trinket? Unfortunately FD doesn't have it in his system so was unable to check it out, and I don't want to spend so much gold on something unchecked.
Is there really a dps gain using Glyph of Mirror Image? I've done a search and can't find any definitive on this subject and the fire thread doesn't even mention it. I thought that the glyph was either aesthetic or at least evens out, but Rawr gives it ~84 dps for me as fire, which for me is significant enough to note.
It sounds like we've got an incoming Aimed Shot Nerf and a buff to Aspect of the Hawk to compensate. A few people have been saying the nerf to aimed shot could be as big as 30% and with some napkin maths, I think the buff to Hawk to compensate would have to be pretty massive, which I can't see happening.
Here's rough calcs:
With my gear, my theoretical DPS (female dwarf) is as follows:
MM using Hard Casted Aimed Shots and no Arcane: 21,445
MM using Arcane and Aimed when MMM procs: 19,555
Now if Aimed Shot gets nerfed for 30% and assuming that makes it not-optimal to hard cast, we'll drop back down to the 2nd DPS number there but it will actually be lower than that as the MMM proc'd Aimed Shots will be hitting weaker and so will our piercing shots.
In my Arcane + MMM proc build, Aimed Shot accounts for 1815 DPS and crits at 46.51% of the time. As Piercing Shots basically increases the damage by 30% on crit we can say that this means Aimed Shot accounts for 2068 DPS. A 30% Nerf to this is an additional 620 DPS loss so my best MM spec will go from 21,445 to 18,905. This is still higher than SV but it's a big loss.
So now I hear they will compensate for this by buffing Aspect of the Hawk. Now what will they compensate too? Back to the original or was that number not intended? (I have no idea about class balance post 4.0.6).
21,445 - 18,905 is a 2,540 DPS loss. In my Build, 1AP = 1 DPS so Hawk will need to be buffed by 2,540....which I can't see happening.
If it's to get it back to where I would be pre-Aimed Shot nerf assuming I used what I would say a proper rotation, it would need a Hawk Buff of 620.
Imo there's not much point in trying to guess what Blizz is going to do - they've got quite an abundance of options on how to do the "AiS nerf, AotH buff". They could, for example, nerf hard-casted AiS but leave procced one as it is. They could play with MMM stack gain %. They could nerf AiS' damage but allow auto-shotting while casting it, etc.
Would actually be nice if rotation is based on CS cooldown, current situation feels.. messy? I also wonder on the reasoning behind AiS nerf which Blizz never stated(unless I missed something) - is it just AiS doing too much damage(PvP) or is it MM having DPS too high or are Blizz just unhappy about how MM rotation is all about AiS atm?
