To cut to the chase, toggle on walk on the heroic nef fight and you move toward the portal at walk speed, allowing you plenty of time to stack the buff to 150.

So Deterrence, is it essentially like a paladin bubble protecting me from anything? I'm trying to figure out optimal times to use it but I'm a tad confused. The tooltip says, "When activated, increases the chance melee attacks will miss you by 100%, reduces the chance ranged attacks will hit you by 100% and grants a 100% chance to deflect spells. While Deterrence is active, you cannot attack. Lasts 5 sec.", which to me means nothing can hit me.

Is this correct because I'd like to use it during the phase 2 transition on Nefarian so lava doesn't kill me. Or at least if I get targeted with Shadowflame Barrage.

Easy, that's the stamina multiplier, for how much it is worth on each item.

Steady and Aimed shot only

I have been playing with the Female Dwarf spreadsheet and it seems that ignoring every other shot except Steady and Aimed shot as top dps. Is there any reason to waste the focus of Serpent sting for as little as it ticks or to refresh it when you can pump out another aimed shot? Especially when the boss is over 80% when your Aimed shot will have a higher % chance to crit? It seems most have given up on the Improved steady shot talent anyways. Is it really worth trying to weave in the other shots? I find it only necessary to use chimera, Serpent sting and arcanes when having to move.

For example:
  {  138, "of the Feverflare"   , {  2803,  2804,  3726,  4059,     0 }, {  7889,  5259,  3506,  3506,     0 } },
So the random suffix 138 is "of the Feverflare". The first list of numbers are the types of stats they are. These are defined at the bottom of the file.
i.e. 2803 = Stamina, 2804 = Intellect, 3726 = Haste Rating, 4059 = Mastery Rating.
The second list of numbers are coefficients which together with data for the item level is used to determine how much of each stat there is.

Near the top of the file we have the data for item levels. For example for ilvl 359:

  { 359, {  649,  482,  362,  278,  204 }, {  649,  482,  362,  278,  204 }, {  649,  482,  362,  278,  204 } },
The 3 lists of numbers represent Epic, Rare and Uncommon values.

For stamina we had a coefficient of 7889 (which is 0.7889). For a ilvl 359 Epic we have a value of 649. Multiplied together we get:
649 * 0.7889 = 511.9961 which is rounded down to 511.

So for a suffix of 138 with an ilvl of 359 and of epic quality the item will have +511 stamina.
So, since the 649 multiplier is a constant multiplier for every ilvl 359 item, and since every single random enchantment item has the same amount of that stat (0.7889), how can I obtain different amounts of stamina?

Glitch with Simulationcraft version 406-3 and 406-6

I've tried both these versions, and for some reason I can not log into battle.net to import my characters. When I click Login, it shows a black square where the Login/PW should be, and no matter how long I wait, it stays a black square and does not allow me to log in. I've tried logging in and out in internet explorer before loading Simulationcraft, but it still won't work. Is this a known issue? Is there a problem on my end? Any suggestions to fix this?

Relative stat ratings

Wouldn't it be better to instead of talking about relative stat ratings try to find the optimal stat distributions at specific gear levels.

The relative stat ratings depend on your current gear so much that it's even been removed from the OP because it can be misleading. At the same time the OP says that the BiS stat distribution (including buffs) for ilvl 372 gear is

Final stats (including raid buffs):
5757 Intellect
8749 Spellpower

1527 Haste
1741 Hit
1807 Crit
873 Mastery
From this distribution we see that crit > haste > mastery while maximizing int and hit. But we also see that crit and haste seem to go together so there's no use only stacking one of them. Wouldn't it be interesting to use the simulations to try to optimize this distribution for different gear levels and then afterward try to map that distribution to the available gear? Regardless of the current gear level it would be possible to reforge and gem towards the optimal stat distribution for the current amount of stat points.

Even though different pieces of gear of the same ilvl are extremely similar with regards to total amount of stats there's a small difference due to sockets and socket bonuses. It would be interesting to know how big impact these have on the dps compared to having a more optimal stat distribution.

With this reasoning set bonuses would always be beneficial as long as the set pieces don't stack too much of the worst stat to be offset by the rest of the gear, or the set bonus has low enough impact to be comparable to sockets and socket bonuses.

Trinkets will still need to be handled separately due to their high impact on dps.

JC mitigation / stam gems.

Hello all. Just wanted to know if I should get rid of my 101+ stam gems for 67 mastery instead. I have a little over 82% total avoidance with 157k hp unbuffed. Should I just stick with what I have or go for the 67 mastery? I'm not having any problems with staying alive or anything and just want to know if that extra mastery is better for me.

thanks everybody for lettin me know about venomous wounds... i knew there was something i was missing because every rotation i read about online made a point to alway keep rupture up and if it was only the little damage i saw it doing on recount that woulda made no sense at all. with venomous wounds it not only adds much more damage but also gives energy which increases everything else's damage too... makes sense now

hello fellow warriors,
i was wondering if my reforges,crit and mastery are setup up correctly.i have been working very hard to be the best fur warrior i can be but i feel like im missing somthing. Also,i am using the 2 trinkets fury of angerforge and crushing weight and am wondering if those 2 are a good set up. and when i pop Dw and recklesness,should i pop them before i get 5 stacks of raw fury or should i wait to get 5 stacks and then use them all?

Surely though a tank should not sacrifice stamina for avoidance past a certain level, otherwise no matter what damage u dont take the damage that you do take will bring you down alot faster.

Patch 4.0.6 Prot Paladin Hit & Expertise

Before 4.0.6 I understood the Prot Paladins did not need to be hit & exp. capped has this changed in the new patch? Seems as tho i am having agro issues after the patch.

There is no need to login on battle.net, simply browse to your character's page and import that.

Should check ur talents a bit more careful: Rupture procs Venomous wounds (which is a nice dps addition) and more energy regeneration thus it adds quite alot to total dps without rupture itself doing dmg
