Ok. Simple questions, simple answers. Is there a clear winner in DPS for DKs? Frost or Unholy? I've read that frost speced, while in unholy presence. But that left me dead in 2 seconds, and doing what looked to be no damage at all on the battlefield.
it might sound very lame, or for some who plays for a long time very boring, but i've tryed several webpages till somebody pointed me to Elitistj forum. i really love the forum and i found very usefull infos. however i couldnt find a clear posting where i could find some very clear infos about Warrior Glyphes.
If someone could lead me to the right path telling me what Major/Minor glyphes i should focus on as a Warrior with main speck Arms and PVP (battlegrounds Fury)speks.
Please leave any helpful links ,or replies as I am complecty unever which one i should buy and which one would be most helpful for my character.
Thank you for all who will read this
The program essentially wants me to squeeze out more haste at the expense of mastery, which is exactly what I've stopped doing, haha. I've stopped reforging Mastery to Haste on new gear to see the effects (Back, Boots and Belt, for example). To be clear though, even assuming it's accurate, the .13% reflects the change in DPS, correct? That's obviously an incredibly small number. Hell, if it were Patchwork, it'd be a small number, on a fight with movement, I'd assume it's completely negligible.
Don't get me wrong though; I appreciate you running my character through it. I'll definitely revisit it again.
Not including tank gear or even cells to put weights for tank stats was a deliberate choise. I might be wrong, but I've never seen a reliable tool (like simulationcraft) to compute tank stat weights. Do they exist?
While I definitely wouldn't say it's "easy" to hit the CTC cap pre-heroics due to the amount you have to give up, you can definitely hit it with relatively easily obtainable 359s and 3 pieces of 346 gear:
Dragon Bone Warhelm (Maloriak), The Lustrous Eye (1250jp), Heaving Plates of Protection (BoT Trash), Wrap of the Great Turtle (Guardians of Hyjal exalted), T11 Chest (2200vp), Bracers of Impossible Strength (Halfus), Gravitational Pull (Ascendant Council), Hardened Elementium Girdle (Blacksmithing), T11 DPS Legs (2200vp), Boots of Sullen Rock (Dragonmaw exalted), Ring of the Battle Anthem (1250vp), Felsen's Ring of Resolve (Therazane Revered), Mastery trinket from Hellscream exalted (pick one of the three), Tia's Grace (Lost City of Tol'vir Heroic last boss), Mace of Acrid Death (Maloriak), Elementium Earthguard (Blacksmithing), Relic of Khaz'goroth (700vp).
With a mastery elixir, mastery food, and one profession that gives 80ish mastery, this set hits full CTC with kings and horn of winter (or similar buffs). This set has about 158k hp buffed though so it's not amazing for heroic mode raids. It is, however, a relatively easy set to put together.
As you mentioned, you do give up your set bonuses and it does require an elixir and food every pull. I don't personally think that's a big deal since they're really easy to make but some may.
Either way, there are a lot of other pieces that can fit into this set to allow for more stamina gemming and I'd always keep two stam trinkets around for fights where it's needed. I think it's a good all-purpose set to gear toward for people trying to get CTC early on and thus tried to keep it free of random boss drops as much as possible. As you get more upgrades over the basic set, more room opens up for stamina (or dps stats if you are so inclined).
idk if i can agree with the 20k dps at ilvl 359 gear. im currently ilvl 359 and frankly i find myself doing around 30% less dps. the rotation is the same so i dont think there lyes the problem. we started with heroic chim last week so i thought id baerly do less damage then i used to because there is practically no movement and an easy garg/dt from fueds just boosts it up but at the end of combat i ended up at like 17k damage. i used to be doing around 20-21k. any ideas i think my ghoul acted accordingly and i did use uf on my ghoul the entire time. so any help would be much appreciated
It looks so intriguing! But I haven't seen a very significant source of information yet, have I overlooked it? Does anyone know where I can find just a bit of theory crafting, I really only have 2 questions.
1: Stat priorities, I have no idea.
2: If I glyph for hemo, do I need rupture in my rotation. The damage it does it horrible and it just seems with trying to keep recup and SnD up it will just be a waste of CBs.
I'd like to pose an alternative to the cloak enchant option, and please, this is not a "dismissing original post" idea.
I've been looking into a number of articles, and I keep coming back to what we all agree with here: that crit is our lowest weighted stat.
With that said, I'd like to propose that the +23 Haste to cloak enchant is a superior option to the +50 or +65 crit to cloak enchant. The +50 enchant amounts to a whooping .28% crit increase. And while 23 Haste is not a large number by any means, it is comparable (and in fact slightly more) than the haste bump from the Fierce (orange) gem that we would socket when needed.
Is it really as simple as:
Crit | .66 * 50 = 33
Haste | .86 * 23 = 19.78

I can only assume that if I swapped my MH hammer of sparks with my torture's mercy, lightning bolt and it's various MW permutations would potentially move higher in the priority. Is this a valid assumption since I would have more spellpower? (I would check it now, but I cannot do so from work)
Some guy previously posted results of using Tort's mercy instead of a 359 agi MH which had aprox. the same dps. Currently im using Tort's mercy MH and [Maimgor's Bite] OH, and I'm getting better dps with this setup compared to using [Vicious Gladiator's Right Ripper] (359 version) as MH, which is quite interesting.
After spending about 3 hours on the dummy last night I tried prioritizing CS a couple ways. I got such mixed results on 1 mill. dmg parses I wasn't sure what to think. Should I prioritize CS whenever the CD is up even over RB and/or BT no matter what or should I put one or both of RB/BT on cd b4 i use it? The way you guys are depicting these rotation priorities are rather vague in the aspect of CS. It has specialized attributes to it that make it unique and hard to prioritize exactly.
Additionally, I'm not sure how to use berserker rage for some fights. Once comfortable with mechanics of some fights I.E. Neph, I like to line this up with crackles. I can usually get 1 off between and have just enough time to hit another just as a crackle hits durring the beginning of the fight. But in phase 3 I find it harder to line them up with and am not sure if I should use it to keep RB available durring down times. I guess the question is should I be lining Berserker Rages up with incoming damage for extra rage to dump or using it to keep ragin blow available? (Keeping in mind i try to dump all rage for abilities like this just before with inner rage as when the dmg hits it usually shoots u to 80-100% rage or so).
I'm just so tossed up on a few of thse things. Halp! I need an adult!
