To help compensate for the loss of dps and improve Survival and Beast Mastery output, Aspect of the Hawk should now provide 2000 attack power at level 85.
|
Some more light has been shed on the Aspect of the Hawk buff, and indeed does not ADD 2000 Attack Power but has been set to be 2000 Attack Power.

I'm just wondering how much int would you give up to get 2004 haste with just the %5 raid buff?
Currently i have dropped all int gems other than 2 to gain 2004 is that too much of a loss
This is for 25 mans. in 10 man i was sitting at 25% incrase on healing for mastery.
However to me mastery will hardly kick into play unless your lucky with wild growth being on layer before reujv

4pc T11 + vicious gloves is a perfectly viable (and arguably BiS) setup at 359 item level. However, Redcape just pointed out that at 372 item level, the tier gloves pull back ahead of the PVP gloves, so that is no longer the case once you're talking heroic gear.
Personally, now that my guild has started clearing heroics, I'm going for 4pc T11 + the shoulders off of halfus (they are crit/mastery). This is the best combination I could come up with.
|
Have any tests been done on the dps difference in 4pT11 + halfus shoulder vs 4pcT11 + pvp gloves for pre-heroic?

I really dont think that the simcraft data is correct in terms of dks. It uses completly different data than consider provided a few weeks ago and I dont get how this should change via a 12% increased melee attack damage. That said simcraft simulates 26317dps for my current gear setup, which is resulting in over 1k more dps using this profile chardev profile chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta
This tool undervalues haste in both specs, frost and unholy, thats why i wont use it till this is fixed.

Unusual rotation
I will probably be banned for posting this, but if it helps a few hunters out there then I guess it is worth it. I was messing around on my wife's hunter trying to figure out which setup would pull the most DPS for her. She is a BE hunter ilvl 348, so most likely this will only apply to toons without a ton of raid gear. I tried out a couple Survival specs while stacking the main 3 DPS secondary stats (Haste, Crit, and Mastery) and switching out different glyphs. I ran approximately 2 min DPS tests on a dummy. The 1st 30 sec. of each were a little different but after about 1 min of each rotation they all ended up at about 11-12k DPS on the lvl 85 Boss dummy. This is self buffed, with a pet, no CDs or trinket effects. I tried a few different rotations and could barely affect the outcome greater than a 200-300 DPS each time. Finally, we decided to try out MM. I did the same tests switching specs, glyphs, and rotations and found that i could hit 13.5k-15k steady with each try after about 1.5 min. Again, crit ->haste->mastery when it comes to the <1min but after that they were all pretty even. Then I tried my own variation of a rotation. The 2nd best MM rotation was stacking Crit leading with Serpent Sting, using Chimera Shot when available, using Steady Shot until either Chimera Shot or Instant Aimed Shot was up. I tried adding an arcane shot in when available but I actually did less DPS on that rotation and I believe it is because the time is better spent on Steady Shot working toward an instant Aimed Shot. But, even after all that, the best rotation was actually a weird one. Because you end up with excess focus when not using Arcane Shot, you can actually cast an Aimed Shot while Chimera Shot is down. As long as you make sure you have enough Focus to use Chimera Shot when it pops you can burn the extra focus you make with a casted Aimed Shot. Her Aimed shots were critting for 44k-49k so it actually improved her DPS quite a bit. I was able to sustain 16.5k after a min or so of using this rotation for about 10 minutes or so before I stopped. I ran a few more tests with the setup and got the same result. So, the winning rotation ended up like being more of a priority list:
Serpent Sting for the opener----Chimera Shot>Free Aimed Shot>Castable Aimed Shot(only if you have enough excess focus)> Steady Shot.
Basically I tried this as a joke and it ended up pulling 1.5k more DPS than any other rotation I tried in those 4-5 hours and is (I think) the easiest rotation of them all. It is only 4 buttons total and only a 3-move rotation. Again, with a lot higher iLvL this rotation may be crap. But if you are a MM hunter wondering why you aren't pulling the DPS you should be, just try this. My wife went from 12kish on bosses to 16kish.
Karadriel is a lvl 85 BE hunter close to hit cap with iLvL 348, no enchants, and I had only self buffs on for these tests. I used no trinkets or any cds. Although the DPS I am posting may not match up with your tests accurately it doesnt matter. What I am posting about is the DPS of this rotation compared to all of the other tests that I did. This rotation may not be the best for fights with a lot of movement though. Please allow some hunters to view this before you ban me for not being elite enough. It will help them.

so I just got an item and was reforging everything to jiggle my stats around.
before I was able to get exactly 26 expertise AKA 781 expertise rating. Now with my new items I cant get on the nose, so Im currently at 25.4 expertise or 765 rating.
What is the actual boss dodge chance? Is it really exactly 6.5% for 26 expertise or is it 6.25% or even lower?

I'm guessing you didn't read the OP and came in here thinking you had discovered something (or this is just a troll). Please read the OP before you post next time, as well as any stickies.

Tom, almost all the additional DPS you noticed on the dummy test is attributable to the Careful Aim talent. Dummies never drop below 80% health.
If you look at Whytefists' OP you will soon realise that there is nothing odd about hard casting Aimed in your rotation

Trinket was the first thing I bought, and I haven't replaced it yet, so it might be a good choice.
We basicly only have 3 trinkets to aim for. LtS, HoR and FoA.
Personally I prefer LtS over FoA, cause to i'm not a big fan of "on use" trinket.

OwN 3/3 change
Before yesterday’s hunter HF, most MM hunters went with talent tree of 7/31/3 (SV was 2/3 OwN, 3/3 BD, 2/3 Frenzy, BM was 3/3 pathing), with the new HF it clear we have to be 3/3 with OwN. Should the additional point removed from BD, Frenzy or pathing?

I have a question about living bomb glyph, I read the guide and it states that you should replace fireball glyph with living bomb glyph. How come you replace the fireball glyph when you cast fireball around 50-100x a fight and not pyroblast glyph where u cast that 10-30x a fight?

I will be happy to share my WoL's
Im a disc priest and currently for most of times the only priest in the raid.
I am most times healing the raid. Currently we have 3 heroic kills so the log will be a mixture of hc's and normal.
You can probably find many flaws in my healing. I would be happy to get contructive critics.
This is the link to our logs.

I have a little question. Does the on-use trinkets cause Lifeblood to enter the 20 sec CD? I use some macros to activate trinkets, pillar of frost and blood tap automatically with all my skills and it seems that on every pull my lifeblood enters cd so i don't really know what is causing it

1: Stat priorities, I have no idea.
2: If I glyph for hemo, do I need rupture in my rotation. The damage it does it horrible and it just seems with trying to keep recup and SnD up it will just be a waste of CBs.

Both of your questions are answered in the Rogue Raiding FAQ sticky. Rupture is free damage, since it's automatically refreshed by Eviscerate, so the 5cp you use to get it started are a one time investment for a noticeable portion of your damage.
