After testing On a dummy for a while with a few guildies we found and recorded that dots do NOT update dynamically with haste percentage(%) changes.
I.e
The Interval of dot ticks doesn't change when heroism/BL/TW is applied with dots already ticking.
The Interval of dot ticks does change when heroism is applied prior to the application of dots or on refreshment dots.

This would mean that we would have to recast dot's based on heroism usage and/or eradication procs or even trinket procs.

Raid-healing stats

Heya,

So, since the beginning of Cata, I've been gearing, gemming, and reforging for Crit, since it was the recommended strategy for tank-healing. However, our guild recruited another Paladin healer, making two Pallies and two Disco Priests; this means there's a lot of tank-healers in the guild, and I find myself almost always being on raid-heals now.

So, I'm looking for advice on what stats I should prioritise as a raid-healing. Obviously, Int beats all, with Spirit naturally being second, but in regards to Crit, Haste, and Mastery, I'm unsure about the priorities. Crit, obviously, makes the heals bigger and procs more/larger DA shields, but DA doesn't always get used by non-tanks since the damage they take is sporadic, and Crit heals can often lead to over-heals. Mastery follows the same concept - it makes the shields bigger, which is great when they're consistently used, but otherwise, it's largely wasted. Haste makes all the casts come out quicker, but more casts = more mana use, so I'm not sure if it's viable to chase after a lot of haste.

If it helps with suggestions/recommendations, my guild is a 25-man, and we're 4/12 heroic mode at the moment, with Maloriak and Atramedes being our main progression targets.

Thanks in advance!

Happiness

First of all, this thread is my 'go to' for theory and practical application, and I thank you for the cogent and comprehensive information. Having said that, I'd like to note that as of 4.1 happiness is no longer a pet attribute. With that change, the Mend Pet glyph has transmogrified to Glyph of Lesser Proportion which merely makes your pet smaller. This seemingly insignificant alteration has a bit of a ripple effect, requiring the carrying of pet appropriate food once again, rather than spamming an occasional 'mend pet'.

I've substituted Glyph of Aspect of the Pack for the transmogrified Mend Pet=Lesser Proportions. It has been quite handy in the new heroics.

specifically, the backstab energy return when you crit a target below 35% health seems to be delayed. in those situations, my ui shows me having 55+ energy but when i attempt to backstab it tells me i don't have enough energy.
yea, same here ;x feels so wierd

I made the same glyph change.

However, you should not be required to carry pet appropriate food. All that food does is heal your pet out of combat. You can do that just as easily with Mend Pet. The food is just useful when you want a quick pet heal during brief combat breaks and do not want to have to rely on the healer to use mana to do it.

With the new change to ignite munching, will FFB be used instead of FB?

Halfus

I'm curious what the best strat for Halfus is this week. We were very close last night but it ironically ended up falling apart near the end. We did Storm Rider first, then Time Warden, and left whelps alone. I was tanking Halfus, which is way easy right now. I was doing rebuke on each shadow nova, which, coincidentally, has a CD about 1 sec longer than rebuke. Very convenient for a pally tank to handle.
My question is what to do during the furious roar. I THINK that I should do avenger's shield right after on that shadow nova, but i think it was 1 sec from its CD. Perhaps I should save it when we get to that part of the fight?

Also, as I wasn't leader I didn't get to choose, but I'm assuming we should pull up the whelps during the time warden and kill them too?

Stance dancing and stat prioritization

So is stance dancing really only worth doing for your mortal strike to ensure you don't miss and overpower cool down? (excluding execution phase)

Also, with regards to stat prioritization, should I have ~30% crit? What about percentages for mastery and expertise? Should I cap out expertise?

So what Im trying to pull from the last few posts is what should I be reforging? Im looking to go

Crit ---> Haste. Please critique it. Im trying to find what is the best in a 10 man raid environment so I can perform the best. Im also a little over hit cap so reforging that isnt a problem.

Right now Im sitting at around a 1.9 Second cast time, im trying to minimize my cast time while remaining a little over the GCD.

ignite much dps loss

so i dont know if anyone has noticed this yet....but i am seeing a major dps decrease in the loss of ignite munching i dont know why...some of it might be due to inability to use blastwave and flamestrike when i like, but that doesnt explain my single target dps decrease. was wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well.

the other thing is that before patch 4.1 i reforged for haste at (~14%) and crit at (~18%) all unbuffed. i did this after running with haste only at (~8%) and cirt at (~22%) all unbuffed, what i noticed was that for some reason with both single and AoE dmg my dps and dmg was signicantly lower with lower crit. so why would i be getting different stat ratio numbers than what ive been told is better. now after raiding after the patch i need to retry this due to the major dps decrease. to clear it up i stacked my stats like this before 4.1 crit>haste>mastery (hit over all till capped). could anyone give me a good reason as to why i was seeing better dps with crit rather than haste.

I have 2100 haste rating and 3476 mana regen, with all my gear having spirit on it I find that I don't have any way to increase my spirit regen. Is there a specific stat that I should focus reforging my extra haste into? My divine light casts for 2.1 sec whether i'm at 1850 rating or 2100 so it feels as though I am just wasting stat space.
