I played around with the new AE in the raid I had today. While AE doesn't directly consume the AB stacks, the AB stacks fall off in about 5 or 6 seconds. As such you can only squeeze in 3 or 4 AE before you have to cast AB again to refresh the stacks. This makes it a tricky situation.

AB has about one and a half second cast while AE has about 1 second cast, is it worth casting 1 AB after every 3rd AE to keep the buff up? I'm sure it can be, but if for some reason your timing gets interrupted then you will lose all that benefit because of AB falling off. I suspect the worth of alternating between the 2 would depend on how many mobs there are and how long they live. Then there's the question of whether you should stack up 4 abs right away before starting AE, or if you should just do 1 AB for every 3 AE even if you aren't at max AB stacks.

There's so many variables, it wouldn't be too hard to calculate but it would take time and effort. Which is higher damage? 1 4stack AB and 3 4stack AE or 4 and a half 0stack AE. Just with guesswork without actually working the numbers I would say that mixing AB and AE would be better if there were like 6 mobs, but if there are 10? AE spam might still be the best there.

With the nerf to Enrage effects (I believe I lost 8% damage on DW at least) and the buff to normal attacks I wonder how the stat priority goes for fury. Is Haste good nowadays? I switched DMC: Hurricane to Crushing Weight and got an noticable dps increase.
How does SMF compare to Titan's Grip in 4.1?

Does it means on SMF Value you have to take the following scheme:

Strength > Hit Hard Cap > Crit > Haste > Mastery ?

So you will have to reforge Mastery on HIT if available and if not on HASTE ?

Crit still > haste ?

Same for the Trinket, Licence to Slay will be the BIS Trinket for the Hit gain ? I am using Fury of Angerforge por the Strenght gain (20 s x 3-4 times a fight)


And Does the 4 P T11 > Off set gear on DPS gain ?

Landsoul says:

4.1 stat weights 372+379 SMF / current model sans execute

STR 1.0000
Mstry 0.3830
Crit 0.6777
Haste0.4158
Hit 0.3972

On that normally it should be Str > Crit > Haste > Hit > Mstry

Matron if you get a chance can you plz put a section about haste and the GCD cap in your guide. I find many newer DK's do not understand how this works. tyvm

Yes, I made this and a few other additions on Tuesday with 4.1 (change log). It is listed within the Stat Priority heading now.

hey so i was wondering is it better to constantly soulswap (with bane of agony of course) on valiona & theralion heroic 25m encounter or to just put unstable affliction and corruption on the dragon thats in the air and have 1 bane of doom rolling on the main target?

any ideas from experienced affli locks? would be nice thanks

Question on AoE:

I am new to Dual-Wielding and am just going to assume that when you say to have a third weapon with cinderglacier ready to go for AoE that the weapon replaced is the off-hand with the Rune of the Fallen Crusader. So, Razorice in main-hand and cinderglacier in off-hand. is this correct? Also, for AoE, should we switch to Frost Presence over Unholy?

Im playing as a fire mage at the moment, and i wanted to know, the stat values that rawr mage shows, if ill change my charecter items / gems / enchants by the item values and stat values, my mage will have better dps output?

or those stat just shows how to gear up an average mage?

Razorice would not have an applicable effect in a purely aoe situation (like those mobs of 15+ in the beginning of BoT) due to the fact that it only stacks on one target. So, Main Hand Cinder, Off Hand Fallen Crusader. And yes, in large aoe situations, you would want to be in Frost Presence. And if you really want to rape those mobs, u can always glyph for DnD and Icy Touch.

But honestly, unless you are just really struggling with aoe downing a certain set of mobs, the only thing i would bother with is switching to Frost Pres real quick and then back when u are done.

This might just be in my head, but did anyone else notice an increase in Hot Streak procs since 4.1? I couldn't find anything about this in patch notes.

Healing rain was always affected by mastery and FI. The main problem with FI was that once you cast another heal, the FI buff from the previous heal would drop.

Cast shock - have FI buff - cast Healing rain and watch people get 4-5k heals in your circle. Cast another heal and that buff goes away. Basically meaning that you are expected not to cast any other heal for 10 seconds for the entire healing rain to have the FI buff. I haven't been able to test whether this has now changed in 4.1. If it has, then FI will be a MUST, rather than optional or recommended.

Hey holy pallies out there,


I downed Heroic Maloriak yesterday and got my 372 Jar of Ancient Remedies. I equipped it but then started thinking, how good is it actually for holy paladins? My previous trinkets were Darkmoon Card: Tsunami and Vibrant Alchemist Stone(alchemy trinket). I switched out the alchemy trinket for the 372 jar.


Now what I am trying to figure out is. With the Alchemy trinket, I get 341 intellect and 200 haste. Also 20% more from potions. The intellect is priority for holy paladins and it also scales with the amount of mana I get back from Arcane Torrent, Judgement, and Divine Plea.

But with the 372 Jar of Ancient Remedies, I get around 580 spirit throughout the entire fight(basically) and 7k mana to combine with my arcane torrent CD every 2 minutes.

What do you guys think would be better?

372 Jar of Ancient Remedies + Darkmoon Card Tsunami

or

Alchemist Trinket + Darkmoon Card Tsunami
