I disagree from trial perspective. Deep Wounds is nice, but when I look at my logs, I'm using Heroic Strike very frequently (thanks to raid damage giving me lots of rage income). I usually only use HS during Colossus Smash, so the extra 5% crit and 100% probability of a 2nd crit is very nice, because I can often get 2 HS's in during a CS rotation.

I would probably swap it with License to Slay and hence loose hit and have way too much expertise.
I'm using SoT glyph, though, so it could be a possibility to use another glyph instead.
Looking at your armory, it seems that you have 28 expertise INCLUDING the 10 from the SoT glyph. That puts you in a better spot than most rets at the moment (e.g. I have 33 right now), and makes the SoT glyph definitely worth keeping.

And yes, H-HoR would definitely be an upgrade for you. Yes, you don't technically need the expertise and will have to make up for the lost hit elsewhere, but also keep in mind that the str proc from H-HoR is quite a bit better than the str you get from license to slay, and you also don't have to worry about keeping stacks up which can be problematic on some fights. Additionally, you can safely drop expertise elsewhere as other options open up to you (e.g. you can use the twilight council cloak instead of the valor cloak).

I think the more interesting question (which has already been discussed a bunch in this thread) is whether you pair h-HoR with license to slay or with DMC:H. I think the current theorycraft says that license to slay is better if you can guarantee 100% uptime on your stacks, where as DMC:H is better on fights that you can't. Personally I use DMC:H with my h-HoR for ALL fights because it's not easy to juggle hit rating swapping it in and out on a per fight basis.

I'd also like to know whether the Cho'gall or Maloriak helm is better.
Maloriak has less Strength, but a lot of Mastery, so I'm not sure which one I should equip.
The Maloriak helm is meant to be for tanking (note the stamina socket bonus). Strength is so far better than mastery that I don't think it's even close in this case, particularly because the 2nd stat on the Maloriak helm is expertise which we all have too much of as it is.

But really, I don't know why you are worried about the comparison between those two. You should be going for the T11 helm for 4 piece instead.

On a related note, I don't know why people are so worried about picking up extra haste. People seem to treat it like it's as worthless for dps as something like dodge or parry. Sure, mastery and crit are better options, but haste will still increase your dps.

So, is Heavy Repercussions worth to get, while not getting things like Blood Craze, War Academy, Incite or Thunderstruck? I just want to read your feelings.

Haste isn't as good as crit or mastery, but it's still a heck of a lot better than dodge or parry. If you have 2 pieces of the same ilvl with equal strength, and one is crit/haste and the other is mastery/dodge or mastery/parry, the crit/haste piece should win out pretty easily.

The reason for doing this is that some of the prot gear that I've seen/own has more strength on it (some pieces have 20 or more strength, and an additional socket). Is 40 strength worth giving up the minimal amount of haste you're gaining after reforging from it, and being provided with a reforged-away-from dodge/parry stat?
Could you give a concrete example here? I feel like if a piece of prot gear has 20 more strength AND an extra socket that it's probably already a higher item level than the ret piece, at which point you're not really making a fair comparison anymore.

If there is enough of a strength difference, then I could see it being worth doing this, but really you should just consult one of the ret spreadsheets on a case-by-case basis to answer your own question.

Mandala of Stirring Patterns

So i imported my shaman into Chardev and i found reasonable upgrades and one of them was the Mandala of Stirring Patterns i found that when i was around 90-100k mana it would give almost 20k mana which i find okay but i find that EXTREMELY high for this teir because a proc of 20k mana is insane and i don't know if there is any others like but if anyone could do some simulations on it for a long boss fight with Falling Mortality thank you so much (I'm not a good simulator/computer geek )

And also I've found Spirit Link Totem to be amazing in bosses like Magmaw and Halfus partly because it gives a lot of health back i haven't tested this yet but i think the 10% damage also goes to the tank when being Mangled don't quote me on than as i said i haven't tested it but i will check to see when i do magmaw next time and if your thinking of that totem use it's extremely useful in heavy damage phase

that is wrong it works like expertise, you got it or you don't 12,99 is 12 not 13

Combat Ratings at level 85 (Cataclysm)

And you will not be able to make a "smart" macro with Innervate and an other Ability, since its completey dependent from the fight and your healing setup ( no, one or two resto Shaman )

But i agree, we could label Innervate, Evocate or more precise Burning Crusade - Manapotion now.

Hey everyone recently I leveled alchemy and I got the Vibrant Alchemist Stone - Item - World of Warcraft only to find out it was actually significantly worse than Witching Hourglass - Item - World of Warcraft I forgot to calculate refreshing dots with the proc up. Anyways i was wondering if anyone knew if Witching Hourglass - Item - World of Warcraft would be better than Theralion's Mirror - Item - World of Warcraft

more 2pc T12 bonus info

Just a quick addition to my above post: at my int level (5,395 unbuffed), 800 mp5 would be equavalent to 1300 spirit.

And I feel 800 is a little conservative. If you make sure NG is up during ToL, you get one or two extra ticks of LB depending on haste, which would be 10-15% more mana during 15 sec of ToL. You'd also get the NG bonus when not in ToL although it wouldn't be as effective in regards to mana returns.

Based on this, I could see this 2pc bonus being close to 850-900 mp5, or around 1,400 spirit. HUGE!!

Does the stolen power buff on Nefarian HC last for your dots full duration or only while you have the buff? Just wondering if I should refresh dots before it expires.

DPS problem

Hey guys im an Arcane gnome mage(obviously) :P And i have a problem with my dps.I have good burst dps but my normal DPS kinda sucks... my rotation: Mirror immage,Arcane Power,Arcane Blast then i use a mana gem till im on 100% mp and then full Arcane Blast til 40% mana and then evocate. At this moment i have around 20-25k dps. But then to keep a high dps i fail. i just keep 3x Arcane Blast and arcane barrage till i can use my cooldowns again. But then im only on 12-14k dps (15-17k on other raid bosses)....Can i have some advice please?

/cast [stance:1] Berserker Stance
/cast [stance:3] Mortal Strike

Or;

#showtooltip Mortal Strike
/cast [stance:1] Berserker Stance; [stance:3] Mortal Strike
Yeah, I was hoping that stance changes and abilities were on separate global cooldowns so that you could macro both into a single keystroke. And, in fact, that worked for some abilities, e.g. something like:

/cast [stance:1] Berserker Stance
/cast Mortal Strike

... I was able to do in a single keystroke, but not:

/cast [stance:3] Battle Stance
/cast Overpower

(Going off memory here, but I think this is how it worked)

I'm guessing in retrospect that the abilities that worked were those that could be used in either Battle or Berserker and those that didn't were Battle-only.

(Edit: fixed the mistaken reference to Defensive stance. Obviously I meant Berserker, but just forgot the stance number).
