I agree with Odeen. It not always about DPS. Sometimes you need to think about the other players in your raid, and what you can do to help them. With the 30 sec CD on SS, I will go for something else, to make the job easier for my fellow raiders. Lets say I pick the Soulstone glyph. That will make my combat ress, more effective than any other classes, and the healers can keep people alive, while i use some time to ress a raid member. With the increased HP they revive with, the chance for him/her to die instantly again, is very low, if ofc the healers are ready And due to me being Aff, i still do damage while ressing, which i dont think any other class can do.

But i have not decided witch one to pick yet, I might ask my fellow raidmembers for their opinion

I've got a question about hastecap vs hitcap. Is it worth sacrificing about 300 hit rating (about 3,5% miss chance) in order to reach the hastecap of 2589 where Immolate gets another tick? I recently applied to a guild and everyone and their grandmother went "ZOMG wai u no hitcap??!". So have I been mistaken aiming for the hastecap before the hitcap? I got to admit I'm not very skilled when it comes to Simcrafting so prehaps I can get some clarity in the matter here.

u will need the same amount of hit as u needed now.

Did either of you two read my post and the one I replied to? I only stated it was a dps gain, not that it's the best glyph in game and that it always should be used. There is nothing to discuss here, really. There are many useful major glyphs, not all of them provide personal dps, but I never said that either. And by the way, every class that can combat res still provides damage/healing while ressing.

um im a little confused about mastery and crit. im not really grasping which one has the higher stat weight and when does this shift due to diminshing returns or wotever affects it. would someone be able to explain this for me pls. im looking to re-do my ret gear as it needs a dust off and i havnt played ret since haste was prio etc lol

As with any gear question, run RAWR, and confirm your findings with simcraft if you find them to be unexpected. "BiS" may and will vary a lot depending on the type of fights, how your gear scales with additional stats etc.
