I really hate getting the T8.5 Gloves, but I would hate not using the Leggings of the Wanton Spellcaster I spent DKP on, even more.

Maybe do some other itterations on the same basic gear setup:
(wanton+T8.5 4 set) with the hard mode BISs.
2PT8 (chest and shoulders) with BISs

hello every one, my main right now is my pally but used to be my lock. i'm looking to hit 80 soon on my lock. i'm in a toss abought best dps spec right now i'm 55/0/12 i would like to stay afflic if it's still a good dps.I know there has been high discution abought what i beleave is demo ruin spec how should i go and what cast rotaion should i use.

A few notes about gear that I have noticed (I'm leaving out hard mode loot)... While [Soulscribe] is good more people will want it for being a dagger. Getting the [Runescribed Blade] is much easier and seeing that both aren't BiS (gg algalon) you will always have something to shoot for. Ironically since the days of MC staffs are fairly competition again most notably [The Lifebinder].

The weak teir pieces comparable to other gear seem to be the helm and legs. I acquired the gloves because hard mode loot is the only loot that could potentially replace it, but this isn't the case with the T8 helm or legs.

[Scale of Fates] is a viable trinket if you get terrible RNG on brood and it's only ~10 dps lower.

Has anyone done a new BiS list for 3.1.2 since the change to t7 will make it worse than t8?

I dont manage to pull more dps whit 3/13/55 then whit 41/30 on the dummy. Could this be because of my gear and the bigger scaling factors of this spec? And do you guys think I should be doing more dps whit 3/13/55 then whit 41/30 whit my gear?

Looks fine to me, a lot of hunters are using that spec myself included.

I would take one point from hunting party though to max Noxious stings.

The only other thing you might consider is moving some number of your Trap Mastery points to Hawk Eye. Yes, that is a net DPS loss in a stationary tank-n-spank with no effects to avoid but it can be a huge help if it lets you stand still because you no longer have to avoid close in items or lets you hit adds that little bit sooner.

this spec has UB for AoE trash tanking as well as boos that spawn adds
but it also has all the ST ability as normal blood tank
I find it to be a extremely flexible spec that works well for almost any fight

I dont think we should sacrifice dps...but lets face it...dps at the cost of the raid.........or a boss kill...for the sake of dps is just plain dumb. How many times have we seen dps gank agro off the tank to look good. Personally, if i dont come in first, or even first amongst the mages, it's not everything. Did I do my job? Did I make my health managable for the healers? Did I make the best possible decision for the raid at that particular moment..not just my personal dps ranking? If I can say yes to all those...i'm in good shape as far as i'm concerned. From time to time grandstanding is ok...but working with a team is the point of raiding imo. A mage..or any class that takes all those things into consideration...is my kind of raider. They tend to be more successful. Just my opinion.

Sorry this post is late and it has been discussed multiple times but as I read through I feel either I am missing something or the calculations are wrong. Glyph of Disease allows you to use 1 blood rune that is normally a HS to refresh all your diseases on the target effectively allowing you to use a DS instead of PS/IT and then that DS gives you an extra 2 Death runes you wouldn't have giving you 2HS. So in reality your rotation would go, DS, PS, IT, HS, HS, DC, HS, HS, DS, HS, Pest, HS, HS, HS, HS, DS, HS, HS, DS, HS, Pest. So according to logic sorry no numbers bc I am tired and not good at the numerical theory crafting at this hour. You trade a HS for a pest but gain a DS which hits harder than any possible IT, PS scenario and 2 HS's. Just a thought let me know if anyone else is noticing this.
