I am reading alot about prefrences, and this is all good, but if your new to healing like i am, what is the criteria? I started getting mana shortages at level 82. No matter how I adjust, when I go into heroics, people die. I am currently sitting at:

Holy Priest 85

Stamina: 5128
Intellect: 3443
Mana: 1594

Spell: 4966
Haste: 5.72%
Mana Regen: 2593
Combat Regen: 2280
Crit Chance: 12.85%
Masterly: 13.86%

My gear, i believe is ave: 340.

Are these the priorities, should I do something different.

From my research looking into Firelands, I can conclude that Troll's will be the superior race ( for theoretical dps) for horde frost dks in Firelands, between utilizing the 5% beast damage buff and berserking. Anyone have any objections?

I think we would be able to help out a lot more if we were able to look at your character, like their Armory profile and their gear, gems, talent choices, etc. We could glean a lot of information by looking at that.

Without that to look at, I do have a few questions for you.

1) Are you spending time and mana healing everyone back up to full all the time? One thing you need to get comfortable with in 5 mans and Heroic 5 mans is that not everyone needs to be topped off constantly. Even the tank. I was pretty comfortable leaving my tank at about 75%, depending on the situation. I would typically leave my DPS at about 50-75%, too. Set a threshold that works for you and that you're comfortable with and stick to it.

If they do something stupid, that's on them. You simply won't have the mana to keep idiots afloat as you're gearing up and going through Heroics.

2) Are people using CC? I know in regular 5 mans, CC isn't being used too often. However, in Heroics it is still mandatory. Unless your tank is really geared and even then I would still request it. Everyone will take more damage when things are just running free, so make sure CC is being used to the fullest. You will notice when it's not being used and it will feel like such a breath of fresh air when it is.

Those are the two things I can think of to ask you, which don't involve looking at your character. Let me know what you think about those questions I've asked and please link your Armory profile here. I would happy to see if your gear or something else on there might be an issue, too.

Any chance of simming t12 dps values in normal and heroic gear sets?

Im thinking i'll give Frost a go the rest of this week instead of using Arcane just to see how it does before the patch. What are the BIS trinkets for Frost PvE at the moment? I have a choice between equipping.....

Hello, I've searched all around the internet and EJ, and I think I may have come up with a macro that (if anything) saves a lot of room on my action bars, and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else. My main spec is Combat, and my gear isn't the greatest, but the macro should still work...after reading these forums, you guys are smart enough to make this macro work with the gear you have.

/use Skardyn's Grace
/cast Combat Readiness
/cast Killing Spree

Assassination rogues can get away with:

/use Skardyn's Grace
/cast Combat Readiness

Most of the time (95% or better) this macro works without glitching, and if followed by tricks or feint, you won't need to worry about aggro.

I'm still looking for a redirect macro, if anyone has one!?

ive been fooling around with my pet/reforging, cause my raid leader plays a hunter and was sharing some knowledge with me.

my stats were all sorts messy (my haste was about 1100~) and i finally reforged my stuff (about 759 haste now and much more crit)

i also changed out my Sambas for a ravager for the 4% physical debuff.

however...before i did all this stuff (raid leader SWORE it was better) i was pulling around 18.5k on a dummy.

NOW, im only doing about 16.5k, max 17.5k. im using female dwarf and whatnot and trying to understand, but its just not helping me with this issue much.

i havent tested it in a 10 man yet, so im hoping it will scale much more in a raid but i guess we'll see tonight. i dont want to let my group down on heroic mag

can anyone offer any insight as to why my prior stats yielded more dps on a dummy?

I have ilvl 358 gear and am speced/glyphed/gemmed right, but i dont think that i am maximizing my dps potential. unbuffed single target i am doing in the 12-13k range. i dont have a WoL so i am not asking for anything specific. i am more just wondering if i am mistaken in thinking i should be getting more dps.

im doing two headers n i wanna know what should i stack more of crt or hit. not sure wich one to do for reforging? can someone give me some advise pls?

Just a quick question, I have not done any heroic 10/25 man content since ICC 25. I have been running an avg iLvl of 358(missing helm because the one from cho'gall never dropped for me and haven't killed nef yet) and am currently sitting at 9% hit,11.28 mastery, 24/24 expertise(i have been re-forging out because im so far ahead of the cap if i dont its wasted) and 17.5% crit unbuffed. I was told hit(to 8%)>expertise to 26>crit=/=mastery>more hit>haste for TG. Do I have my facts wrong? Will I get more dps out of going into more hit and reforge out of mastery?

From our PTR kills on 10m I think I ran:
Aly - Disc
Beth - Holy
Rhyo - Holy
Shannox - Holy
Baleroc - Holy
Majordomo - Disc
Rag - Holy

I prefer Holy to Disc, so take my choices with a grain of salt. I usually just run holy unless there is a very good reason not to.
Aly it's for tankhealing, and because there's very little unavoidable raid damage. Majordomo it's just for barrier on scorp phase.

With the raid makeup you describe, you should be fine as either spec and can probably get away with playing what you prefer.
