mp5

Quite simply the way to fix mp5 is to have it scale with haste, in a balanced way of course. done.

I love all the tech data in these posts, but for a bit of fun and as a poor attempt to address some practicalities I thought I'd share some thoughts NOTE: not to be taken too seiously just in case I get flamed.

Confused by resto druid spell changes? Unsure of your role in a raid? Depressed at demotion from being a primary tank healer? Think again! After considerable minutes of testing and refining, here is my definitive guide to resto in 3.1.

The RJ pre-hotter: many druids follow this line as it looks really good on recount. Also you can create a random cast macro and just continually press the same button while watching TV. It may even be possible to write this kind of macro into a bot so you don’t actually have to do anything but play pong on the side bar. RJ pre-hotting – does it provide a buffer to allow more mentally agile and physically active healers time to do their stuff? Maybe. Would they be able to do their stuff without the pre-hot? Undoubtedly. What’s the purpose of pre-hotting? Well it looks good on recount…

Regrowth it crits a lot. No it’s a hot. 5 points wasted if you want to get it to crit. It’s like supermarket own brand cola. Weak, unsatisfying, but with a long aftertaste.

Lifebloom, to roll or not to roll? My advice: let it bloom goddamit. Doesn’t it cost more mana to restack? No, and even if it did so what? Mostly you reroll 1 second before it runs out, while restacking won’t begin till after the bloom, or 2 seconds difference. Over a long fight it actually costs less to let the bloom occur. Anyway if you don’t run out of mana then mana efficiency is meaningless except in a nerdy geek sort of way. If finishing the fight with a full mana bar is important to you, then worry about mana efficiency; otherwise who cares? There’s two reasons to let the bloom happen. Firstly you get a manic buzz out of watching the tanks health bar deplete as your lifebloom nears it’s end. Will it bloom in time or will you need to reach for the dreaded swiftmend button? Oh the blood pumping victory moment as a 15k bloom saves the day at the last second! I would point out that it’s probably best if you use the power of the bloom to restack or apply other healing spells even though it’s tempting to cartwheel around the room in celebration of “the power of the bloom”. Secondly stacks of 2 are the same HP/Mana ratio as 3 stacks so you can be flexible in you approach. Groovy.

Wild Growth: use it cast it love it. Is it any use? Probably not but it looks awesome.

Nourish vs GHT: Nourish sux end of. It doesn’t matter how many set bonuses you have or what the crit rate is. Simply put, compared to GHT Nourish takes an eternity to cast. If you enjoy sitting on the edge of your seat urging the cast bar to reach it’s end then fine. Otherwise use GHT. It’s like driving a sports car compared to a Volvo. But isn’t Nourish more mana efficient? WHO CARES! I’ve been all through Ulduar and haven’t run out of mana yet. Not once, and I spam GHT all over the place and rack up LB stacks on anybody who stands still long enough. Nourish is a spell for slow boring geeky individuals. If you don’t want to look like the school swot, use GHT. GHT ROOLZ. NOURISH SUX. TROO.

Swiftmend and Natures Swiftness: Marginally quicker than GHT but with a 2 day cool down. Use Swiftmend on yourself just before you die, don’t waste a point in NS.

Innervate: It restores your mana. A lot of druids have forgotten this. Use it more then you can spam GHT all day.

Tank healing or Raid healing: Do both! Do it all. Zap the weak with GHT. Run RJ on the nubs who can’t get out the AOE. Stack LB on the tanks and use RJ and RG as well so all your hots light up the screen like a fire work display. LET THE BLOOMS BLOOM THAT’S WHAT THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO DO!. Revel in the big fat mana refund when they do bloom (I set my combat text to flash like a beacon when I get a refund). Pop WG here there and everywhere, pop pop pop. Use Swiftmend just for something to do. Use Nourish on people you don’t like in the hope they die during the long long long long cast. OMG I need six fingers and my brain’s gonna fuse. Who would have thought Druid healing could be more fun than Wild Growth spamming or multi-Lifebloom rolling?

Thank you Blizzard! Just a simple change to one little spell and a whole cornucopia of exciting possibilities has opened up. 3.1 is a visceral adrenalin rush of fast furious button mashing mayhem. I love it all. Except for Nourish, which I hate.

Alternatively, of course, you can pre-hot the raid with Rejuvenation (sigh).

Few questions to get me up to date on fury right now:

1. Should we still be going for expertise/hit caps before all other stats?

2. If not, how much of each is advisable?

3. It seems harder to hit cap than in Naxx, gem for it until you hit it, or gem all strength?

4. At any point is it worth gemming Armor Pen over strenth? I have 48% passive without gems, and have Mjolnir Runestone plus Grim Toll.

For unholy DW you are looking to hit the spell hit cap which is 11% if you have virulence and a shadow priest with putting misery up. As stated in the OP your focus is around using all your runes and GCDs to generate as much runic power as possible and to get off as many DCs as possible.

1. Yes
2. N/A
3. Gem for hit if you are under special hit cap(8%)
4. Use the spreadsheet to see if ArP > Str for your gear

Edit: As Archavenger pointed out this really should have been asked and replied to in Warrior: Simple Questions/Simple Answers and not this thread.

Can we please stop replying to the questions that belong in Simple Questions/Simple Answers or at least get a cookie cutter response that points people to said thread and the spreadsheet?
This way we won’t have to read 30 posts discussing topics that were covered 2 pages ago.

I come to EJ to get away from the garbage in the official forums. I would encourage more infractions to keep them from posting and/or replying (even if it earns me one).

I'd rather Blizzard lower the stats on the Dragon's Eye gems than take away their prismatic quality. This really craps on a lot of things and is the wrong way to approach this. Or at least give JC's 1 prismatic gem. Or better yet, make blue gem slots not entirely worthless.

So sad that the Guise of the Midgard Serpent - Item - World of Warcraft is going to seriously nerfed after the first nerf. That helm with a Dragon's Eye was amazing, especially for 10 man content.

"In the next major content patch we will be removing the prismatic quality of the jewelcrafter-only Dragon’s Eye gems. Like other gems, they will have to match the socket color to receive a socket bonus. When this change occurs, players with qualifying jewelcrafting skill will be provided a yet to be determined amount of Dalaran Jewelecrafter Tokens as compensation.

[...] Nerfs are rarely (if ever) something that returns positive feedback, but we feel this change is necessary to bring this profession more in-line with the bonuses from the other professions. The stat bonuses are meant to stand on their own, not provide extra socket bonuses or ignore meta-gem requirements."

So JC will get nerfeg wit 3.2, after this change will it be the worst profession? And if yes, which profession will be the new top raider profession=

Engeenering, whith the haste enchant on gloves? Or Blacksmithing?

hello guys i have a few questions about what spec should i use

my armory:The World of Warcraft Armory

i have 20/51/0 (glyph of fireball, glyph of molten armor, glyph of living bomb) as mainspec and 57/3/11(glyph of molten armor, glyph of arcane blast, glyph of arcane misilles) as offspec (i have 2/3 incanter's absorption because it gives nice sp boost and you can easily trigger it on most bosses)

my stats as arcane
2212sp
381 hit rating
529 haste
18.94% crit (23.25% with molten armor)

stats as fb ttw
2059 sp
381sp
529 haste
24.14% fire crit (28.45% with molten armor )

I can use 4set of t7.5 but rawr told that dps is higher if I use gear im wearing now.

So if you could tell me ,in what spec i would be doing highest dps.Would it be frostfire maybe?
Or i should try out arcane with incater's absorption
Or stay fb ttw and get some more crit rating?

ty in advance

I second this. The past few pages of "look at my spec" are derailing this topic.

However, it also seems the current discussion pertains to nothing more than speculation on the impending buff to the fury tree. While this is healthy (for prepariation purposes), shouldn't we be focusing on how to maximize our class in the here and now?

Looking back through the pages in this topic, would it be useful (before I do it) to create a review or summary of points of debate, arguable topics, etc., as to refresh or encourage us?

Well thats true unfortunately. All game mechanics are known at this point, we have spreadsheet that "answers simple questions", and until blizzard changes something (like arp ones lately), there really isnt a whole lot to discuss here. Those changes also take only so long before being assimiliated into the "grand scheme of things".

8% for specials? Are you sure? According to http://elitistjerks.com/f81/t36784-w...imple_answers/
it's 11%.

I havn't played fury for some time so I'm not updated on this, but I really do think it's 11%.

I seem to be in the same situation as you nowdays. My gear setup is like a "patchwerk" and one upgrade in one slot has ramifications for what items that are best in the other slots. However, your gear seems like it's favoured against a arcane spec, but you have more than enough hit to make you hit capped. You have 20.52% arcane spell hit, and you only need 11% to be self-hit-capped. This should probably be an area you could work on switching out a hit piece or two for haste/crit.

Frostfire is _highly_ dependent on your critical strike rating. Since your critical strike rating is rather low, I think switching to FFB will be a dps loss. I think you should stay Arcane & FB/TTW, though use different item sets for each spec.

Well

I'd try to enchant and socket as much Intellect as possible, because it increases you Mana (more mana = less need of insane regeneration). Also it increases your crit. And when you crit using RT, LHW or HW you will get mana from your Water Shield, if you have the talent of course. But who doesn't have that talent?!

Last, it increases your healing by the Talent Nature's Blessing (sorry for not linking it, but I'm not confident bout this firum yet ;p)

Other than that, I wouldn't socket Mp5, because it shouldn't be needed in a fight that lasts for less than 10 minutes, because of Replenishment, Blessing of Wisdom and Mana Spring Totem.

Intellect>Spell Power if less than 2k SP>Haste Rating>Mp5>Crit

Have fun!
