My best advice would be to grab simulation craft and run it with 10k iterations, plotting reforge for both haste and mastery. Then based off the reforge points check which would be the greater of the two.

Question -

I'm new to arcane. I just hit 85 like 2 weeks ago. Currently I am bursting for around 35k on bosses and ending with 18-20k dps. What I have noticed though is pretty much all damage (bursting especially) comes mostly from the crits that Arcane Blast has. I have stacked my mastery like all the guides have said but it makes more sense to stack crit since more damage comes because of crit. Should I even my crit out more or just stack crit altogether?

Exactly as Glaxipi said. Remember it also depends a lot on your specific gear. Since plotting takes a very long time even on a decent computer, here's two example sims of mine

In the first one, you can see in the plot that at about +150 haste, haste scales better than mastery - it also happens that that is the 1573 threshold. Also the stat weights at the beginning of the sim are haste>mastery>crit

In the second sim, I've reforged just over that haste, and from then on, mastery scales better. The dps increase also is as suggested by the first sim. The stat weights also changed to mastery>haste>crit.

Sim is pretty accurate too since that's almost the dps I pull in a real raid environment. (Actually helter-skleter sims are much more accurate, but these two are the ones demonstrating the point of this post better)

EDIT: These two sims dont have reforge plots, just normal plots. I've found reforge plots to take an awful lot of time to calculate.

I recently obtained a Crystallized firestone (omg shocker!) my dilemma is this. Should I upgrade and switch to the H-Apparatus or upgrade the Giantslicer?

According to Landsouls spreadsheet information the Giantslicer is a 105 dps upgrade from reg to heroic and the apparatus is around 45 from reg to heroic. Given that the reg apparatus is lower dps than the Heart of Rage and that trinket doesnt have the factor of being "on use" Would upgrading the ranged weap be justified in this situation?

Thanks for the response kai, thats good news to me. Im limited to using two not so great trinkets Essence of the cyclone and the DMC. The trinkets that you listed must have much higher proc rates than the Essence of the cyclone. I tried finding the proc rates on wowhead for those two trinkets but couldnt find them.

For the spreadsheet to accurately simulate the benefit of the upgraded Apparatus, you'll need to adjust the uptimes in the custom event matrix (and make sure you're forcing Colossus Smash to sync with it).

Use AoK and VoA. As long as you don't pop Recklessness while AoK is up, you'll be fine.
