Our stat priorities are (as stated in Hamlet's main thread)
- Hitcap (17% = 1742 ratings)
I would say it's a big deal, at least. I haven't tried going all crit or something, but most people agrees that this is the best stat prio.
Ignoring any nice trinket/enchant procs, you basically reapply dots when you hit an eclipse and refresh them just before you leave the eclipse, and hope that that last refresh will last you until next eclipse.
Panzer, what numbers should I be shooting for with those stats. I know INT = as much as possible and I am at 17 on hit, so as for as
Any idea what they are intending with a 1.8s MH dagger increasing SS & RS? I could understand if it was the 1.4s OH that had this effect, since combat rogue still use dagger OH. The idea of combat dagger build using SS just sounds plain wrong and I cant figure out what they are trying to accomplish with this.
Many of the best itemized pieces are ilvl 397 and are bought from valor point vendor.
If we want the heroic version of Bracers, Belt, Boots we will have to get those poorly itemized ones that drop from DS
My question, am I right and if so, where would which glyph be better? Would the glyph for BoA become more useful even though we use BoA not really that much as afflic.
There is also a question then about haste and BoA. Haste gives more ticks, but for BoA, this is not as simple as just adding more ticks, because the ticks have different sizes. How does the game fix this?
Glyph of UA is used because there are no other real options. You could use the Glyph of BoA if you'd like, but then again as you said, it's not used over BoD so therefor = 0 increase in dps. However for multi-dotting encounters it's a very viable alternative.
As for BoA ticks: the way the glyph works is that it extends the duration of the bane with 4 seconds effectively giving 2 extra stronger ticks at the end (i.e. stronger than the last ticks on an un-glyphed BoA). However because of how BoA works, you cannot clip it (if you didn't happen to know this).
I have H Necromantic Focus, DMC::V and Moonwell Chalice and I'm wondering which is the best to use and in what situations.
Is it worth using the MWC on CD or always waiting for my next Meta? Is it worth delaying Meta for MWC?
Which combination of the three is best? I've been using MWC and H NF simply because it adds up to more mastery for my first Meta+Doomguard. I feel like the H NF is more reliable because firelands fights are getting very short for my guild now and we're frequently killing the boss 10~sec before my DMC would proc again.
MWC is BiS currently for Demonology because of it's synergized use with Meta, therefor you should use them in conjunction every time possible (remember though to activate the trinket before Meta, otherwise it won't work, and a simple macro won't cut it).
H:NF is surprisingly bad after the nerf. DMC:V still remains as one of the best trinkets currently and I would recommend it together with MWC if you're playing Demonology. However to be absolutely sure, and based on the short kill times you mention, check out the Simcraft thread and the bars for the trinket procs and use your own stat values to get an overall DPS total. Or just sim it.
trying to make a macro that casts arcane blast 4 times and then casts arcane missles or even arcane barrage. Is there a way to have that macro or am i just being very lazy?
I doubt there is. You really don't want to lock yourself into 4 AB's anyway. Your gear/procs will determine how many AB's you can do in conservation phase. Sometimes it will be 4, sometimes it may be 7. Depends.
this once helpful and informative thread has become a jumble of undetermined and unresolved theory crafting. what used to be a fundamental 'how to' is nothing more than a hands in the air attempt to explain what the author can't seem to explain. even more drastically so for the layman.
look to some of the other class posts and evaluate/compare how much more streamline in design their go to approach is drawn up.
this is becoming more and more a wash of confusing and uninformative philosophies than a real push toward bettering in game play style and strategy.
I have a confession- I'm awful as combat. I'd say I can't stand the spec, but that's probably because I'm not too used to it. The constant energy capping (especially with Matrix and Hungerer up in AR) is crap coming from Assassination, the Bandit's Guile is more annoying than steadily flowing, and Killing Spree is the worst (this, I will not contest).
I'm looking for any suggestions to improve my play. Here are some logs as me as Assassination:
I played as Assassination on Heroic Rag because I'm more comfortable with it- I had a couple tries as combat and felt it wasn't worth wasting the raid's time on figuring it out. I went from awful on it as Assassination to I assume halfway decent (feedback on my Assa play is appreciated too). I played as combat this week and put out poor showings on Shannox and Staghelm. Staghelm is annoying, as I generally find the cats are dead by the time I can activate Blade Flurry, and I don't want to lose Bandit's Guile stacks so a lot of the time I'm just autoattacking them.
Baleroc was better than Shannox, but I didn't get Countdown once so 30k in my gear probably isn't good enough.
I try to follow the pirority list from the combat thread: SS, RvS on 4 only, Evisc, refresh SnD with any spare CP.
97% SnD uptime, which while not perfect, is I'd say respectable. The biggest error you'll immediatly notice is the lack of Killing Spree. I've always been wary of using it on the fight, but I'm going to work it in next week.
I assume Deep Insight being up 7 times to Shallow/Moderate's 28 is because SS/RvS refresh the first 2. That was a bit confusing at first.
If there's anything you want me to say, please ask. I want to be good at combat!
'' 35% or less target HP
Once your target reaches 35% HP, you will stop using Mutilate and instead use Backstab to generate combo points. You will want to do 1+ Rupture and 5 Envenom instead ''
Why should I do that ? same energy with Mutilate for just 1 point ? I'm lvl 81 and I'm trying the rotation in a dummy. It seems very nice but I use the same rotation as in the start..why below 35% shall I use back stab?
I dont even know if we should discuss this but... I guess no problem.
But many solos were made like that, the 1st rogue that soloed patchwerk had to use it.
What exactly I think is a solo. Is using whatever the game give us to kill one add alone without using 3rd partys, thats it.
You completely bugged most solos you done. Malygos per exemple, enrage means that blizzard wants to end the fight there but you got a way to turn it away.
In my opinion theres no small bugs and big bugs, the fight is buged end of story.
But is your list, I can stop complanning and make my own list to :P
