I was wondering - Would like to get some input here. Iam a protection paladin on the Draenor Server were doing heroics now atm. With the enrage timers on bosses in dragon soul.
Should tanks start to think more in the lines of Threat stats to get maximum dps, what i mean is cap expertise and hit to get as much dps as possible.
This has me puzzled really - I would like to get some input about this matter.
I like maths and working it out - but about generally speaking 450 stamina is about 10k health more - now fully buffed i have about 215k health - Truly what will 10k health do really or iam i not seeing not the bigger picture.
Now the question (I don't have problem with threat not at all):
Generally speaking what is the best choice here Stamina or Expertise/Hit.
Your input would be greatly appreciated - cause i don't no which way to go actually.
fearmemortals: Truth is, that T13 2-piece is not mutch usefull for arms, but its not useless, cus it's still DPR of HS increase.. Now with 2-piece i almost never use HS without IR active. Only time when i use it is before and during DC. There is rly hard to ragecap now, so when u haven't about 80rage, never use HS without IR .
about heroic slicer and normal gurth: Most usefull think for arms warrior is base weapon dmg, but the truth is, that proc is rly strong, and theyre goin to boost it (proc and time spawned) so: Slicer have max dmg 4331 and gurth 4058, that means 273extra dmg for every ability and white attacks for slicer. From ma logs last 4resets with gurthalak normal its doin on single tar encounter with +- 40k dps smthn about 5%of my total dmg, that means +-2k dps increase. I dont know values of dps per 1str/1crit....., so the only question is: can 65str (15+50gem) + 362crit + 347mastery do more dmg then ~ 1700 dps (2k - dps increase with more base damage). When yes=slicer is better, when not=gurth is better. Please do someone know how to calculate values of stat/dps? i would be rly grateful for anybody, that help us calculate this values .

I have a question since a re-re-re started playing on official servers.
I'm trying to understand/solve the HASTE question. at the moment this is my gear
the "2005 haste cap", is this including the 2pcs t13 bonus? shall I consider the 500 haste of this bonus or not? in raid, without elemental shaman, I have self buffed more or less 27% crit, I think this is really low but TILL NOW I was trying to reach the 2005 cap SELF BUFFED...
my final question is, is it fine to have, self buffed, 1505 haste than go stacking crit?
It's quite boss dependant imho. For hagara for example, avoidance means almost nothing, since her normal melees do no damage, but for Ultraxion, at the end of the fight you'll be taking up to 100k melee swings after block.
Tho if I can request, I'd like a detailed math on pure avoidance vs stamina. For example in my case, I'm (raidbuffed) sitting on ~21.80 dodge and ~21.80 parry compared to people that go stam stacking after ctc, and are sitting on under 19 parry/dodge with same ilvl. Is really stamina worth more then pure avoidance, considering there are only 1 boss that does huge spell damage over huge melee dmg.
Hi thanks for the reply Archieewee. Iam almost on same stats as you (i Would say about 0.7 less parry/dodge). Atm iam still going for full avoidance atm. It was general question before about the expertiese/hit, but when i started to go deeper into world of logs. The melee hits are insane actually.
Still interesting to see what people are actually doing. I see allot of sites and players going for stamina stacking. Which i really see no point in - truly. This is my opinion only - I rather dodge or miss an a attack - and not take the full force. DS bosses hit so hard 10-15k health looks like a sand of grain.
I will research more on world of logs. But It looks like ill will be staying with avoidance/mastery. The melee hits in DS does so much damage.
Hopefully someone can give us some feedback about the Stamina vs Avoidance math - that would truly be awesome.
sorry stpam but I do not understand. the calculation I did was considering the 2005cap (I will not get any combustion bonus tick) with the 500 haste of the tier bonus (I guess you mean this with "full 10 stacks of the haste trinket and 2pct13"). what cap is 2685?
of course in these calculation I am not considering the trinket proc.
So, here is my question - is any there ANY way to force crits, cause there is a situation which makes me REALLY MAD -
Ultra 25 hm = pre-pot, Heroism, trinket procs, 10 stacks etc etc - and im receiving something like 6-7 hits, 1 crit, 6-7 hits, 1 crit etc etc etc = no ignit, no shitloads of pyro, no imba combust = IM MAD. Bloodlust just finished and i didnt got an ignite above 17-18k.....
It happents in something like 30-40% of the pulls, and after it I want just quit playing this game
Is there any consensus yet about haste soft cap (not including t13 4p)? ~1500, 2005, 2635, 3005?
I've looked at the spreadsheets and the thread, run rawr (which thinks 3005 is worth it) etc... Seem to have too many long streaks without pyros for combustion though with 2505 haste rating (3005 w/ 4pc).
