Because Ret Paladins aren't supposed to out-DPS the golden goose, per blizzard logic. That's the only real reason any of us have been able to come up with in this regard; I know it's not very satisfactory, nor is it even likely, we're just left scratching our heads at what sometimes seem like arbitrary changes.

If you can reach the equivalent of the nongoblin 2589 threshold, it would be worth it so long as it isn't at the expense of hit (unless you'd be giving up a very small amount of hit as a last resort).

Hellow I was woundering would it be considered a DPS loss to ignore Hot streak procs when there is still more less then 10 seconds but nore than 2 seconds left on the pyroblast DOT effect on the boss? I have done it both ways using hot streak procs when they happen and not using the procs when there is less than 10 seconds but more than 2 seconds left on bosses. Over all I have seen about a 3k to 4k difference in DPS with not using the hot streak procs right away but only to maintian the DOT. Can any one else confirm this for me or is this just how the gearing I have done on my mage just supports this.

something interesting guildies and I use to do take a 85 whatever you are get 5 man groups take off all your gear even weapons start at VC get gear, run Stocks get gear, run SM, etc basically running all the old instances upgrading your gear each time (so repair doesn't matter) finally you get to the raids and start clearing the raids with the correct gear for that lvl raid its better if you get one of each gear class cloth, leather, mail, plate of course there is going to be some overlapping some where.

Its really fun to go through all the old instances and if you do it with guild you can get all the old achievements you may or may not have yet including the raids, the best part is no repair bill cause its not your high end gear and you can sell whatever you don't want to keep great for those that like to collect old tier for transmog or to just have. I earned a lot of gold by just killing everything as if you were starting over at lvl 1 and you collect great beginner mats for enchanting, tailoring, leather working, etc.

We call it naked runs and try to do them once a month just for fun to get a good laugh and well earn gold, collector gear, pets, mounts, etc.

As a hunter you can even do this on your own and you don't have to worry about gold as I stated before cause you aren't using your own gear I use a bear pet or tank substitute but it doesn't really matter much until lvl 75 cause you just rip through things fast anyway.
