I'm mainly a healer but for our alt raid I play my hunter and a guild mate made me aware of the current state of simulated dps according to simcraft.
I was wondering if hunter dps (as far as I know that simulation is against a single target) are really that low compared to some of the other classes or whether there are any bugs or explanations for the situation?
I'm kind of worried if hunter is the right decision but the class was always fun to play. The difference looks pretty large though
There are only 10 types of people... those who understand binary and those who don't.
However not based on numbers or experience, I wouldn't worry too much about DPS balance. Blizzard is getting better with DPS balance every patch.
Also, SimC is likely to be inaccurate, whether that is in coding or in rotational behaviour.
Depending on what they do with the aspects (they also said they wouldn't aim to keep the aspects like pre-5.0.4), hunters are very flexible in movement / kiting. It looks like BM will be the spec-to-go in MoP and BM has good burst, so we'll not be the steady DPS role like SV / MM made us, allowing us to time the vast amount of CDs we have gotten with damage increased phases etc.
I am adding a notification to my addon (JSHB) and would like to be sure I get this right.
I want to show a flag when an ability like (Blood Fury, Murder of Crows, Lynx Rush, etc - cooldowns) is best to be used, as in the player should delay casting these abilities until a certain condition is met (and alternatively when conditions are too far off to wait - but this part can be derived from the first).
Should Murder be cast only when Bestial Wrath (for example in BM) is up as a best time, etc. (example, just picked a spell to use).

PS. Normally I would not be for something like this, but feel that this would greatly help DPS and allow a player to pay more attention to their surrounding as opposed to keep their eyes mainly on the timers to decide this on the fly. I know it can be done with some practice, but regardless - what is best practice on any of these.
For DW frost RE is an absolute must due to rune gaming. Getting more howling blasts per minute completely trumps the need of getting RC for 15% higher uptime of 4 set bonus. For 2H obviously things may (and probably) change.
If you're playing 2h frost the way it should be, not saying you're not, but RE should be better. With rune dumping and then RP dumping the way it works out.
same with fdcl, it lasts 10 sec and stacks twice so you should refresh VT before, if necessary.
imo fdcl is stronger than the improved fiend, the fiend only does around 33% more dmg and fdcl was around 9% of my total dmg + it provides an instant spell where you can reposition.
they changed the whole gameplay and the feeling it comes with, i'm really happy that they changed the shadoworbs but it still has a lot of RNG, but at least it cant ruin your whole start with a little bad luck.
what i hope for is that they change the MB proc into a free MB that doesnt affect the current cd, like this it can be a split secont that decides if its completely useless or gets you an orb 6 secs faster.
will there be a "MoP shadow only" thread soon? used to come to elitist every day a couple of months back but now there is hardly anything for shadows to read.
Im accuelly finding DK tanks squishy at the moment. I arn't in heroic gear but since the patch it feels like im only in Raid finder gear. Healers are also saying theres a big diffrence. Has something changed? Is my Death Strike not working properly or.... I honestly don't under-stand whats changed. Im doing 10k more dps as a tank but taking at least 10k more dps. The weights seem to be wrong or something. Can someone please inform me on whats wrong? Is this happening with all tanks?

I had this long well written answer to one of the macros when I realized there was no need anymore due to Insect Swarm being removed for Druids .
So instead I am posting wondering if anyone has any macros they really love, or any that they would like help being made/refining. Macros is a hobby of mine and if I can't get one made off the top of my head I will find out what it will take.

I was just testing as well- murder of crows definitely scales with BM mastery now. I also confirmed that they fixed stormlash to scale with RAP instead of melee AP (not sure if it scales with hunter's mark, the range is too large to be sure). Froststorm breath now scales with physical haste. The improved serpent sting refresh issue appears to also be fixed. I'm sure there's other stuff still that needs testing, but that's all I thought to check.

Thanks for confirm the Murder Scaling with mastery, this put definitely Murder above Lynx Rush for BM now.
