Ok I am going to admit that aim really struggling with implementing the new rotation just from an ergonomic comfort perspective...and would love to see how people are are setting up their keys 1 through 0, I looked in the ui string and saw no discussion regarding mop changes and the incorporation of so many more abilities. All suggestions welcome. Would love any video suggestions.
Hi, I have a question - what are the best glyphs for Arcane Mage for PvE in MoP?
I was running Arcane until this weekend and my primary solo/Heroic glyphs were:
I also switched Slow to Arcane Explosion depending on the heroic and whether it's AE heavy or not. Still haven't found a great use for Arcane in Heroics though.
Switched to Fire on Friday and immediately found it more effective, I no longer needed to watch my mana bar as much so I was able to concentrate on the mechanics and actually enjoying the game again. DPS also went up by around 30% on single target fights with the same gear.
Running Fire with Combustion, Fire Blast and Evocation.
I have a simple question, just want to know if orc or or Panda has the better racial for a damage warrior.
Its 4100. AP trinket with 2 minutes cooldown against flat 300 strength ( through bufffood), to my knowledge i think orc ist better in correspondence with bloodbath. But i dont really know it and just want to know if some one know which race is better through simcraft or testing.
On Elegon, you can stand just at the edge of the dome and when you get the stacking "Overcharged" debuff, you can just jump with an instant cast or when refreshing your Mage Bomb instead of moving back and forth.
Using SrS to dot other targets seems to be clearly better than only using AS as a focus dump, even when assuming that the other targets won't have the 5% spell damage debuff.
B. 2 targets next to each other (i.e. Stone Guard in Mogu'shan Vaults)
a) using 1 MS every 15 sec to also dot the second target:
One MS cast does ((10307 MS dmg + 16268 Imp SrS dmg) * 2 targets) + 53969 dmg for a full SrS on the secondary target
-> 107119 dmg for 40 focus = 2678 DPF
b) "spamming" MS
I'm not sure how to calculate what happens when you use MS instead of AS as a focus dump all the time. Let's say only the MS does damage, while the SrS dot has no chance to tick (which obviously is too low, because you can't just spam MS all the time):
((10307 MS dmg + 16268 Imp SrS dmg) * 2 targets)
-> 53150 dmg for 40 focus = 1328 DPF
So with two targets next to each other, it seems to be a good idea to use MS every 15 seconds to also dot the second target. I'm not sure what happens if you would simply use MS as a focus dump instead of AS while maintaining your normal rotation otherwise. FD.com says for 1 target it's "only" a loss of 2228 DPS (60637 DPS -> 58409 DPS), so for two targets the DPS loss will be smaller. Maybe it would be even a DPS gain.
C. 3 targets next to each other
a) using 1 MS every 15 sec to also dot the 2 other targets:
((10307 MS dmg + 16268 Imp SrS dmg) * 3 targets) + 53969 * 2 dmg for a full SrS on both other targets
-> 187663 dmg for 40 focus = 4692 DPF
b) "spamming" MS
Let's say again that the SrS dots don't do any damage at all, because I don't know how to calculate the dots:
((10307 MS dmg + 16268 Imp SrS dmg) * 3 targets)
->79725 dmg for 40 focus = 1993 DPF
I'm not sure what to make of 3 target fights. The DPF and DPS becomes better than using AS, so using MS as a focus dump while maintaining your normal rotation otherwise seems advantageous.
Would it be even better to forego other shots completely, only using CoS and MS? I don't know. ES only does 50499 dmg for 35 focus = 2020 DPF for me, which is comparable, and the DPS is worse... on the other hand there are the free LnL ES.
To sum up my thoughts so far:
- multi dotting with SrS is better than a simple AS
- 2 targets next to each other: one MS at least every 15 sec seems good; I'm not sure if it's better to use MS instead of AS as the focus dump alltogether while still maintaining the normal rotation
- 3 targets next to each other: Using MS instead of AS as the focus dump seems good; I'm not sure if it's worth it to use other shots at all
Aside from mobs with funky debuffs, the priority is as follows:
1 target - single target priority
2-3 targets - single target priority replacing AS with MS if they are close or SS on secondary/tirtiary targets if they are not.
4 targets - single target priority replacing AS with MS and BA with XT (If you somehow find yourself in a situation where four targets are separated, let me know.) Explosive shot IS that good, and you will be multi shotting enough to have a negligable difference between this and MS spam.
5+ targets - Multishot rotation: XT>GT>DB>MS>LnL>CS. Always leave two shots (CS+CS or CS+other) between every MS allowing it to tick before the new MS (Sorry, I don't have a source on this but it is very easy math). It is very easy to bleed LnL procs off between multishots with the way focus works now. GT is great aoe and DB is free focus regen to help you get off more non-CS shots. Use CD's as appropriate though I'm not aware of any current boss that requires burst AoE. The only difference between 4- and 5+ is that you prioritize MS over ES, and don't hard cast ES unless absolutely necessary (or you messed up).
I think you all neglect that nourish is getting additional healing with rejuv present and also on 25man you cant spam regrowth .
Also can we make a short description of what is effecting what spell e.g. mastery is affecting regrowth direct heal etc.. I think if we have a clear picture of how many spells are affected by crit and mastery we can easily see what benefit us more.
Also is it me or we have a very script way to heal? we have the fewer spells /abilities that can heal someone like 10 spells while other classes have like 20 . Has our class lose its fun and complex mechanism?
p.s. i still dont understand why they gave shamans extra heal totem and buffed healing rain (it is still producing very big numbers) not to mention monks healing. Do you reckon with gear its going to be more balance ?
Ok so breaking the barrier from SC to a raid, my guild did our first attempts in MV last night.
Sitting at 473 ilvl I can put up numbers between 55-60k sustainable damage as Affliction.
I myself have gotten hit cap or close enough ( somewhere around 14.8%) and am stacking mastery for the most part reforging to haste where I can't mastery.
If you aren't going to hit cap you'll most likely need to reforge for haste for a lower GCD to compensate for the misses you may have when applying DoTs or Haunts.
This to me wouldn't seem ideal seeing as you get a decent amount of haste Demon Soul and if you're combing Heroism / Bloodlust it's going to make your rotation choppy, that is create dead time between casts on things such as Haunt and UA.
Feel free to tear apart what I've said I enjoy a good discussion
