Me & my guild are just starting on Garalon 10m normal (Yes we are way behind schedule even for a casual guild)
Understand we are supposed to go combat so as to take advantage of BF. As of now, I'm still pulling only 70k + dps, and also dying pretty quickly. Will really appreciate if anyone can take a quick look at the logs and give some recommendations on how we can down him?
I have currently Loshan, Terror Incarnate - (496 normal version upgraded 2/2) equipped, gemmed with +500 intel on the sha-socket and +320 spirit on the meta-socket. As a holy paladin, I know I could have had better luck so far, but still I had to run with this badly itemized for my class sword (no spirit, no mastery).
Last night, I acquired the heroic version of Tihan, Scepter of the Sleeping Emperor - 502 ilvl. Since it is perfectly itemized with mastery/spirit I got excited initially. Soon, I realized, the loss of the 2 gems kinda makes it not worth it, and I mean even if I do upgrade it 2/2.
I've been checking this website out for quite a long time now and have always found the answers I needed for my toons, however this time I couldn't seem to find any help on this so I decided to make an account and ask my question here.
Our guild has been looking for a hunter for a while now to fill our 10th and final raid spot, but this proved to be quite hard. After some discussions they recently decided to recruit a Frost DK instead, as we could use the second combat res incase I died on future progression bosses. Now this brings forth an issue and my question. Our raid team will not have the Spell Haste buff because of this decision and my question is the following: Is it worth reforging into haste to get the haste needed for the second corruption tick?
I am a 499 orcish warlock. Without the spell haste buff I would need 7078 haste rating to get the second corruption tick. I have checked what I would need to gem/reforge/enchant for this, and I would come to the following stats: 7107 haste rating, 4922 hit rating, 2005 crit rating, 6324 mastery rating. My current stats are, which are still based on having the spell haste buff to get the corruption tick: 4763 haste rating, 5105 hit rating, 2005 crit rating, 8655 mastery rating.
So yeah, is it worth the huge loss of mastery to achieve this haste level?
When I think a bit further even: Now that I am close to passing 500 ilvl, I would have had to go to 6637 haste rating with the spell haste buff provided by the raid, now this becomes 9094 haste rating for me as we do not have the spell haste buff. This is not achievable with my current gear at all. But once it is, should I aim for that? Or should I just stay with my current reforging which is mentioned above in italics?
Final questions: If the answer is no, should I then go for the second agony tick (5320 haste rating without the raid buff) or just the extra unstable affliction tick (3040 haste rating without the raid buff)? Or should I overall just keep aiming for 4717 haste rating like I would do if I had the raid buff?
Sorry for making this first post into quite a long one with a load of questions. I hope I was clear enough. Let me know if there's still any information needed to make a good call on this. And thanks for your time!
Even the changes for the Unholy (Scourge Strike damage +7.7%) seem laughable when viewed outside diseases buffs (I would've liked SS/FS/DC buffs, than diseases).
I don't understand Blizzard: they have all the numbers, yet they think Ret DPS problems will be answered by a 1min reduction to AW? Sustained DPS doesn't mean an average over time, with distinguishable highs (arguable) and lows. Sustained should be achieved through increases on most/all abilities used in the rotation: CS, J, TV (especially) and HotR for AoE, from 20% to, let's say, 50%, to make it viable from 2 targets up and also by removing its condition to have a current target and to face it (highly annoying). OR make it spread Censure from SoT (lowered dmg/tick, even depending on how many targets are affected, for balance purposes; too difficult? they did it with 2 diseases.. :P) and get rid of SoR (seal swapping isn't a quality of life goal, for me).
I do not think these are unreasonable or impossible to make. They change much more for other classes/specs, so I believe they're more afraid of making Ret paladins head-of-the-pack so they prefer the opposite.
I think it may be a typo saying to save a weapon with Cinderglacier for the mainland. I am fairly certain it should replace razorice in the offhand.
Also, in the FAQs, the question is something like "I don't want to use the masterfrost rotation." You missed the spaces separating the Q/A and the actual question. That wasn't very clear so just proof read it.
Thank you for updating the guide, and feel free to delete this once they are changed if they are infact true.
