Longevity lowers the cooldown on pet specials, including family specials like rake and monstrous bite, and even tree specials like Call of the Wild and Rabid. These add up.
As for mortal Shots, it's not a loss of 12% crit damage, but the crit BONUS is lower by comparison. At 2/5 Mortal Shots a crit hits for 212% damage. At 4/5 it is 224%. A 1000 damage shot is 2120 and 2240, respectively. The 2/5 Mortal Shots crit is only 5.4% lower than the 4/5 one.
But the reason people don't always max mortal shots is because mortal shots doesn't apply to most of the damage that BM hunters do. It doesn't apply to pet damage (which is why longevity can be a better option) and it doesn't apply to auto shot or serpent sting. It only is a factor on crit damage (which is a factor of crit rate, naturally), whereas some other talents increase certain damage all the time.
If people bothered to actually test out different builds in the spreadsheet, then they might understand why people make certain choices. There is a lot of math that the spreadsheet does for you, and sometimes a talent can be better than another at one level of gear or buffs and worse at the next. It's one thing to theorycraft the numbers yourself and seek clarification when the results show something you didn't expect, but it's another to just ignore several pages of math and analysis and just post off the cuff.
The spreadsheet shows Rosa's posted build as more dps than yours on every character that I have imported into it, including yours.
U are right and tks for reply my post... We tend to give opinions (me) without testing them and, sometimes, we (I) dont realy read the spell tooltip... my bad and tks for the info
Do we have anything concrete regarding the performance of the different trees in 3.1? I'd assume that unholy will be outperformed by frost/blood in fights with a lot of movement and/or aoe damage, would that be a correct assumption?
Also will HB>OB>BS>BS -> HB>OB>OB be better than IT>PS>OB>BS>BS -> IT>PS>OB>OB for the frost tree?
Ok I love this forum. Based on the info on thee first page I was able to increase my DPS by over 200 per second, and I am not even in end game gear yet.
My question is, while I see loads of info on what gear, talent specs, gylphs, etc everyone is using what is everyone using for enchants?? Is everyone just dumping stamina? Or do you add other stuff?? If so what do you recommend?? Right now My gloves add to hit rating, and I have Icewalker on my boots. Everything else is stamina.
Firstly i'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that puts in the time and effort on these forums to make WoW a better and more enjoyable game for everyone. I have a couple of questions regarding patch 3.1 and some of the changes and i would greatly appreciate any help you may able to provide me.
Basically I currently have the pretty much the best PvE enhance gear going around, and im using Calamity's Grasp and Angry Dread as my weapons (both enchanted with Berserking). I see a lot of people talking about the imbues that should be used. Most say WF/FT is the way to go but i have found that WF/WF has been better for me. Question is should i really be using WF/FT (especially with the changes in 3.1 and that FT will work better on slow weapons) and also what Glyphs should i be using assuming i stick to a WF/FT combo? Also im looking at this spec, what do you all think?
hey people, i really have a quick and a noob question to ask,
i havent played enhancement or elemental except for levelling. just raided with resto spec, and im pretty good at it :p got some emblems, t7 t7.5 tokens, and i want to pick up a second spec. i hear that enhancement sucks at dps lately.. is that still true at 3.1 ? i still want to play melee tho, is the dps difference for equally well-geared too high ?
It said simple q&A lol. Give me the 2 top pve afflic talent spec and then the highest dps talent spec for locks in 3.1 I also need the spell rotations for both. I've always been afflic so switching will be all new to me!
better yet can you play my lock for me lol serious about the specs though. I've read too much and my head is about to explode.
Given that at least the Life Tap and Haunt glyphs may not be immediately available, what will interim glyphs for these builds look like to maximize dps? Just looking at the builds from the original post,
0/40/31: conflag, immo, (incin or imp)?
0/41/30: felguard, incin, immo?
0/56/15, 3/52/16: felguard, immolate, corruption?
3/13/55: conflag, immolate, incin?
53/0/18: agony, corruption, shadow bolt? Not great choices here if you are using the succubus.
