You are misinterpreting the tone, Sir. I was being merely silly while paying you all a compliment on being meticulous to a fault. I apologize if harm was felt, but, I assure you, none was meant.

I wonder why blizzard gave feral druids the 5% crit buff and the mangle debuff where as for warriors you need 2 to get all those buffs. I think, to be honest, they should have made both specs give the trauma debuff and the 5% crit and re-balance arms to include that 5% crit, that way dpsing on a warrior will be a matter of preference.

I may give this a try maybe when I get ahold of a polearm, the one from general dropped yesterday but our hunter got it. I'd also probably need to get a armor pen trinket, yes still no grim toll

Maybe after having all that it may be better,

A quick question,

I can't seem to keep my DPS as a Rogue above 1.3k-1.5k, in raids when I spam FoV I get around 3-5k depending on how many mobs and how hard they want to hit that day. Both my daggers seem to be pretty good as I am only raiding some bosses in Ulduar and all in Naxxramas and I do heroics. If you don't mind I will give you the link to my armory to see what the problem is. My rotation if stealth is most of the time Garrote, Mut, SnD, HfB, Mut, Mut, Finishing move usually Envenom, then I repeat but scratch the Garrote. I toss a rupture in there if the boss/mob will take a bit to get down.

Can anyone tell me the cookie cutter arms talent build? I’m switching as I’ve grown bored of fury and heard numerous reports of arms > fury DPS wise (regardless of gear).

Ty and also what would be my rotation for arms? What should I be gemming for? Is Hit/expertise cap still the same for arms? Crit %? ARP? Sorry for the loads of questions guys just want to be very efficient.

Having just read your information I had a question about talent allocation whilst levelling early on..... Do I try to fill out Call of Flame first or should I shoot for Convection from the get go dropping my spare points into Call of Flame as free points appear lower in the tree?

I know for raid purposes Call of Flame is obviously superior due to the full availibility of mana regeneration tools but whilst levelling does Convection out pace Call of Flame for effective mana usage.

New PTR version

* Blood Strike now has its total damage increased by 25% for each of your diseases on the target. (Down from 50% in the previous PTR build)
* Bloody Strikes now increases the damage of Blood Strike by 5/10/15% (Down from 15/30/45%), bonus damage to Heart Strike and Blood Boil unchanged.
Now that's a pretty big backflip, from crazily buffing Blood Strike, to nerfing it into oblivion. I guess that's the end of the blood/frost Dual Wield build. I assume it was more to stop deep blood using blood strike on single targets over heart strike.... But is still sad none the less.

Unholy Blight now deals 20% of the damage done by the Death Coil over 10 sec. (Down from 30%)
This should also push the Frost Strike vs DC debate more towards Frost Strike. Will hop on and test things out once patch is downloaded and ptr is back up.

I would like to create a testing environment in which comparing EnhSim numbers to in-game numbers makes most sense. I could of course model the training dummy (no buffs and limited rotation) but I feel that's of limited interest since the raid buffs dramatically affect my stats (spell hit cap, to name just one).

Ideally the answer would be "fight X from Ulduar" - but I'm not sure it's that simple.
I was wondering if anyone has an answer here - or is it not a simple question?

BCB is garbage, but 1.5 percent on a regular basis

Melee is 20 percent of your total dps
necrosis is 7 percent.

Now I don't need to do the math as we can see pretty evidently that you benefit a larger portion of your total dps by going slow/slow over Fast/Fast. Granted Slow/Fast might have a benefit with RI on main hand and FC on Offhand to cause more FC procs, but I don't see it winning out over Slow/Slow with max Beginning and Ending Damage (just so I don't screw up and type the wrong thing again).
My tests showed OB as close to 30% of my damage with melee being the followup and FS falling behind that.

(Before you begin)
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (you need this to run WOWaceupdater later.
Download details: .NET Framework 3.5

Download WoWAceUpdater: (Run this great program to update all your ACE2 mods included without ever having
to visit curse or another mod site again!)
WowAceUpdater

The UI itself is a compilation of ACE2 mods just mixed around and reconfigured to my own dabbling for clean, efficient, low memory-use, and overall “sleek” look. The DEFAULT UI settings are for 1680x1050 widescreen, please remember that.

I will use this post to update any uploads in the future with different resolution default settings as well as changes…

UI download at this URL:
HowitzerUI_2008-V1.rar - FileFront.com

Again, remember the UI is set for 1680x1050 widescreen. If you run anything other than that you'll have to mess with the mods to reconfigure sizing, (DO NOT ASK ME FOR HELP).

Since they are all ACE2 mods you can customize them easily by holding down ALT and right clicking on the mod bar itself. This should bring up a menu that will allow you to change settings. Because the saved variables folder is set for 1680x1050 you'll notice that things are out of place, this is normal. You will have to take a little time to tweak things if you run at a lower-res.

However, you do have FuBar at the top with a mod installed called Deuce Commander. This drop down menu will give you access to every single mod installed and an easy way to configure. My modpack doesn't include pre-set resolutions as I only uploaded it "as-is" due to a lot of requests. But as of right now, you're going to have to learn how to use the menus to tweak the settings on your own.

This UI used Bongos for action bars. When you first load the UI they will be out of place. You need to left click the bongos icon in the upper left hand corner and load the profile and it will load all the buttons to the correct places.

ACE2 Mods are VERY customizable! You can take this UI and mold it in many, many different ways to suit your own taste. Use my UI as a template to give you ideas on how to create your own custom interface, its very easy if you give it a little time to learn the simplistic menu system of ACE2 Deuce Commander.

Installation Instructions:

NOTE: If you're not a Shaman, disable Enhancer and Chaman2 mods. You can place OMEN in the place of Chaman2's area where the totem timers are at in screenshot 1 and 2.
All folders are sorted according to where they must be placed in your main WOW directory.

1) Before you begin, back up all of your WTF and Interface folder

2) Remove the WTF folder and the Interface folder from the main WOW directory.

3) Place the HowitzerUI WTF and Interface folders into your WOW directory.

4) Rename the folders inside the WTF file to match your ACCOUNT >>> SERVER >>> CHARACTER'S NAME.

5) Log in and enjoy

alright guys let's see what I can do here:

Armory link

This is my current setup, as for hit I run with a shadow priest in the raid, but I'm still riding the line. Last night I was given some loot off Yogg, particularly this item [Chestguard of the Fallen God]

I'm trying to think if it is worth the dip in hit or if it's worth making a [Sash of Ancient Power] to get this chest, even over a [Belt of the Fallen Wyrm] I've been looking stuff over but I would like a second opinion on what the balancing act here you would prefer.

I ran a bunch of stuff through Binkenstein's spreadhseet and I found soem odd numbers.

Basically the highest DpS combo is the [Belt of the Fallen Wyrm] and the [Chestguard of the Fallen God] together, but that puts me below hit cap by a couple percent.

So would you trade off 60 hit for 75 crit rating or trying to gem with rigids to make up. I'm pretty tied up here. I am also sitting on a [Dying Curse]

Uh... provide some proof, or stop shitting up the thread. Seriously, "DO NOT CRAP UP THIS THREAD WITH UNTESTED OR UNPROVEN SPECULATION" is posted in huge letters in the OP, and yet people insist on repeatedly doing it. Ugh.

Edit: So that this is more than just arguing and hopefully not infraction-worthy - slow offhands are pretty clearly better for ToT builds, for higher strike damage. I don't think anyone's going to debate that. The real question, which AFAIK no one has provided math on, is how much better slow offhands are. In other words, how much of a DPS tradeoff should we be willing to make for a lower ilvl slower offhand over a "better" faster one?

Edit2: And to be clear, what Whatevr said is provably false with two brain cells and 10 seconds on a dummy. Take a fast lowbie weapon and a slow high level weapon (vendor stuff is good because it doesn't have stats to affect your AP), do a few strikes with each in the MH. Offhand damage is completely unaffected by MH DPS or damage range changes.

Windfury is definitely broken currently, I wonder why it's broken. Are they possibly looking at taking it off CD and/or reducing it? I ask because of all the other PTRs WF was never broken like this was it?

Is there a better rotation?

First off Im about as noobish as they come as this is my first time using this website and posting here as well. I dont know what half of the abbreviations stand for lol, but I would like to know if there is a better build and/or rotation to be using.
Im full marksman 7/56/8 yes i put 3 points in hawkeye.
My rotation is as follows .... steady shot serpent sting aimed arcane chimera, then i spam steady while the rest are on CD
I still have a few blues on including the Spere of Red Dragon's Blood. I have passed up other trinkets to keep this one as i use it in the following macro.
The macro is /cast rapid fire
/use spere of red dragons blood
/cast call of the wild
/cast auto shot
/use Potion of Speed
I also have the mirror of truth trinket and when i see this trinket proc is when i pop this macro and fully raid buffed that puts me at around 8 to 9k AP for about 15 seconds i have seen my dps as high as 5.6k and i can sustain 5.3k on patch
i dont gem for Armor pen i do gem a bit for haste but mostly for AP. my crit is around 32% unbuffed and other then icewalker i dont stack crit. my computer isnt the greatest so lag could play a part in my dps being low but still having a few blues on i can out dps much better geared surv hunters and im almost always at the top of the dps charts.
on bosses with a mana pool i only use viper sting once or twice depending on the length of the fight as, at least for me, i let the viper sting tick for a bit before hitting it with chimera and i find that my own mana pool is completely replenished. as far the reason i put 3 points in hawkeye i have found that it keeps me just far enough away to stay out of most forms of aoe damage lessoning the need for healers to heal me and on the second to the last boss in nax im out of the range of its blizzard and i dont have to worry about moving around until the air phase so my dps stays up for longer periods.
Any friendly advice is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance

Indeed, T9 won't affect Chimera Serpent. The theoretical Serpent damage stays the same, we just have some gear that makes it crit. But the Serpent mechanic is still the same.

The bonus is pretty powerful overall. If we go by my char's theoretical Serpent damage at this time, it is calculated to be around 320 DPS. This is with T8. Raidbuffed I'm hovering around 51%. So that is without MS or meta ~163 DPS. With them it becomes ~228 DPS. But Blizzard might just not only ignore both me and MS but could theoretically set the crit to be 150% damage... Because unlike Rupture for Rogues it is actually spelldamage and we don't have that DK spell = 200% crit thingy.

On to Survival, obviously less impressive, however even without Imp Stings my Survival (58.51% crit) should gain up to ~150 DPS (no MS or meta). This is without changing shot priority or anything.
BM should be considerably less, but still impressive. But BM should gain a nice boost from the 4 set so I would think the loss of T8-2 would be made up as well. Interestingly the three specs look at a casual glance to be pretty even overall with regard to the bonusses. Just too bad one spec it reliant on the 4 set while the two others can more easily rely on the 2 set and possibly get better offset gear.

So this bonus is pretty damn good, but hardly as impressive as the Rogue T8 bonus (Rupture crits). Which seems to fit the overall feel that the bonusses should be less important just be bonusses.

I'd suggest maybe trying to catch up on some recent posts, there usually is a discussion that pops up where people discuss moving some points around. These posts likely don't list "the" build, but it will give you a feel for some of the points where people vary.
Also, peak at the armory builds on recent posters, you should be able to see the trend of the main points needed. *Don't forget to check out how people glyph while you are there.
