I have been running some setups on the Combat sheet.
And im kinda confused.
How good is the T7 4set bonus really for a combat rogue?
With the gear i use i have with 2set t7 bonus:
I get like say 6k dps on the sheet.
How ever if i swap so i use 4set t7 i get:
With that gear the sheet says i would get around 150dps more.
Is that really right?
Is the t7 set bonus that strong that its worth keeping ?
At 25% crit rating (self buffed) you'll have around 90% up time on Demonic Pact as long as your raid has all of the melee buffs. Haste and crit both have similar weighting as most gear levels, haste is cheaper points per percentage. Crit and spell power both help your raid more, haste will help your personal DPS more. In general don't gem for crit.
question Splot what dps you put out on a boss fight i saw you gear on the armory and its kinda equal to mine so i was wondering , thanks ^^

You don't really go into this specifically in your post, but as of 3.1 it seems to me and I've been told by quite a few friends who also play locks that you would get the most DPS out of Demonology/Destruction build (personal preferences.)
But looking at this thread, I haven't played any build related to demonology in awhile, only affliction before 3.1
My questions are:
What's a specific rotation, as I see in your main post you only go into incinerates, DoTs, and soul fire, but where does the conflagarate play in this rotation ?
Also as I'm relatively new to this spec, my guess is the pet you would use is an imp for raids.
As of right now I am really confused with the whole 3.1 patch up to now I've been using the affliction build to progress into Ulduar with my old guild, but it seems I am not putting out the maximum amount of DPS I could be.
Relatively I know these are pretty dumb questions, but wouldn't hurt to answer them.
Thanks in advance to any advice given about my gear or my questions answered.
ty tempers and kaan for your input
it just seams the tool tip is misleading i knew that it didnt work before witht he aoedamage, but since 3.1 went live and alot of changes happened i thought maybe this might of change.
oh well back to the drawing board to find better talent points in the top tier fury tree
Hm... did u load all the new gear from wowhead, use full raid buffs, etc? Here is what gear I found to be best in slot so far:
Helm: Tier 8.5
Neck: Broach of the Wailing Night
Shoulders: Tier 8.5
Cloak: Drape of the Faceless General
Chest: Winter's Icy Embrace
Wrists: Mechanist's Bindings
Gloves: Tier 8.5
Belt: Relic Hunter's Cord
Legs: Tier 8.5
Boots: Footpad's of Silence
Ring 1: Loop of the Agile
Ring 2: Cindershard Ring
Trinket 1: Grim Toll
Trinket 2: Mjolnir Runestone
Weapon: Furious Gladiator's Greatstaff
8307 dps points as of 2.2.1
The only way I can increase the dps is by making it a BS/JC but dealing with JC gems is annoying when it comes to testing. Of course RAWR could be wrong, but it is a much better theorycrafter than I lol.
Edit: Ah I didnt see your second post sorry. I am also a little upset about the Furious staff being better than all discovered loot so far, but hopefully there will be a better staff from hardmode
Since I use an ingame Addon called "pawn" to compare items and looking out for items that are best for me on "www.lootrank.com", I need to know the AEP-Scalings for the Holy Priest.
I read the thread and I am aware that spirit, int, spellpower, crit and haste with the postet Numbers are a good goal to reach. But i'd prefer some raw Numbers. I only have the 3.0 Scalings:
i just wanted to throw a few short questions.
i'm planning to offtank, my gear isn't that shiny... so i'm concerned about my tps, a lot. i want my spec for max tps and possibly cat (in the middle of the fight\before boss) so i can dps with the same spec (saving other spec for healing, because i might heal a bit here and there when i'm asked).
Something like this. i tried to take most important survival talent while skipping those that our mt will take (demo shout, imp. tc) and getting dps talents. unfortunately i'm very poor at math... i have almost zero idea how do i compare "king of the jungle" and "improved mangle" in terms of tps (keeping in mind i want them for cat from time to time...).
also should i skip shredding attacks (-2 rage on lacerate for 2 talent points seems not worth it for tps boost, rage is almost never an issue) or take it (actually very nice talent for cat dps).
ps. excuse me for my english, it's not my native language i might have a lot of mistakes in my post. i double checked the post thou.
pps. took imp. motw. because i love it, 40 energy isn't a lot, while imp. motw. helps in 10 mans\heroics.

I did a bit of testing, and found myself doing approximately the same DPS with both specs. I think in the long run the 17/0/54 will be a more viable spec than 12/0/59 + ghoul frenzy, because then you don't have to concentrate on wether your Ghoul Frenzy is up or not (considering that with 12/0/59, at least for me, my ghoul did 12% of my damage) and you can just focus on basic rotation/prioritizing. If you're using 12/0/59 + ghoul frenzy, and you don't have ghoul frenzy up, it's a pretty big DPS loss, in my opinion.
On the contrary, I haven't tried other specs besides 12/0/59 that have been mentioned in this thread. As far as 12/0/59 goes, however, personally I think the basic 17/0/54 is a bit better. The other debatable thing about that spec, which I haven't tested yet, is if Ghoul Frenzy with 17/0/54 may be a DPS improvement? If you take that 1 point in Improved Unholy Presence and put it in Ghoul Frenzy, maybe that will work even better.
