I realized I wasn't the only Paladin on my server (in fact, Paladin's the most-rolled class) and got tired of being just like everyone else. I also noticed Death Knights always use two handed weapons. So, in an attempt to be different, I made a Death Knight and was really looking into dual wielding. However, after I did my homework (10 levels later) I realized it wouldn't really work out too well. So, I looked into other options and decided to try Shaman since I've never seen an enhancement shaman in a raid and I've rarely seen elemental. I've been leveling with just enough points in Enhancement for Shamanistic Focus while putting everything else in Elemental, and I'm probably going to go pure Enhancement at 30, but I definitely will go Enhancement at 40. My shaman will be 80 within 3-4 weeks.

Looking at the talents and spells available to learn, both Enhancement and Elemental seem like they'd be amazing for DPS. With the explanations out of the way, my (simple) questions are: is it worth it to take a melee-DPS position as Enhancement for the raid buffs (and personal DPS)? Which will do better with pre-raid gear? Which is more difficult to gear? Which has more potential as gear improves?

I have Remorse, but i am still waiting for Malice to drop to go sword spec.

I did check a spreadsheet, and one gives me very close figures. The other does not work...personally i like second opinions. It was a simple question...in a thread that said simple questions, simple answers.

I guess i was just looking for a more in depth answer.

[Illustration of the Dragon Soul] & [Eye of the Broodmother] are two of the best trinkets in the game. You would be much better off using those two items over other options, until the time comes to obtain/use a [Flare of the Heavens].

I am not 100% exactly what all you are asking, but I think it was just which of the two you should use. If you wanted to know which one to drop if/when you do pick up a Flare, it would be the Eye. Flare and Illustration are the best two in the game as a combination for Elemental, to our knowledge at the moment.

It is if you have 4 pieces T8, otherwise, it's not

JWC, the second profession is generaly up to you as most of them provides comparable bonuses. I am happy with JWC / Alchemy (Elixir master).

As for the food - yes, +ArP food is the best you can get provided you already have a good amount of ArP. If you don't, use +Agi food instead.
