I would like to discuss this with you: my friend, gemmed and got gear for ArP and reached 97% (almost cap...) bud in a cost of hit and expertise. I was wondering is it worth it ? I understand abilities hit way harder with high ArP however many misses and dodges should occur I assume...

Using cooldowns at the start of a fight unless you know that BL is going to be coming shortly after the start is usually best.
I would suggest trying GoD out with 2/2 Epidemic (take a point out of Morbidity, not Necrosis) and seeing if you can get some mileage out of that.

But the stacking arp is still the best dps after the 3.2.2 patch?

I'm not the best person to ask, but by my current calculations, this will still decrease Marksmanship dps by a decent amount. Most likely not to below Survival dps, but it is still going to be a reduction. Unless we end up stacking something other than Armor Pen.

Hiya,
So I'm a resto shaman who recently dual specced elemental because my guild has gotten to a point where we just don't need that many healers anymore. Actually, I was enhancement for the longest time but I wanted to play with elemental for a bit and found I really quite liked it. Anyway, the extent of my dpsing experience as caster so far has been a bunch of heroics, the odd bossfight in uld 25/TOC 10. Usually I find myself either smack bang in the middle of the dps or towards the bottom, but I've never been able to figure out if that's because of the gimmicks of the fight. Essentially my big concern is (big surprise!) that my gear is good, but that I'm underperforming, not doing it credit. I know as a healer I'm used to waiting to cast and that as dps what I need to be doing is pounding down that key (which is what I'm doing, for the most part, though I'm still working on tightening up my rotation) but I still can't help but feel like I don't know whether I'm completely below threshold or not. Maybe the fact that I live in Australia and my latency hovers around 500-600 is an issue, or maybe I'm just really bad at dps. So in my efforts to find a benchmark I've been hunting for a Nax 25 group (didn't find one, I suppose emblems of conquest make Nax 25 gear a little obsolete) but I did find a Nax 10 group. Which is not as helpful, admittedly, but I figure a patchwerk parse might be a good place to start. I use priority cast, flameshock lvb lightningbolt til LVB is up, lightning bolt til flameshock drops off, and so on.
For the sake of accuracy I've logged out in the gear that I did the fight in (to the best of my recollection). Some notes - I know I'm sitting at 12.96 percent hit in current gear. My usual gear set has me sitting at around 10.51 (11.51 with aura, obviously), because I'm allowing for raid buffs and I can't get rid of that pesky .5 percent, but for this 10 man I realised midway through the instance that I didn't have either a boomkin or spriest so I threw on as much to get as close to selfcap as possible. I also realise that my shoulders and belt are not gemmed for spellpower, as they should be - this is because I use those two pieces in my healing set too, and I gem almost exclusively for haste in my resto set. I know it's not optimal but I don't believe haste is horribly, horribly detrimental to elemental either. Or at least not so much that it'd turn say good dps into horribad dps.
Here is the wws
And my armory should show up but just in case it's not redundant armory link

With Silencing Shot macro'd to fire with all of these (aside from Mark) to ensure it's always on CD. If you really wanna nitpick, also include Rapid Fire and your racial (if applicable) at the beginning and Readiness just before Steady.
Edit: Except on General. Silencing shot can completely bork your melee interrupts. Leave it off for this fight.

Hi EJ,
Looking to you for a solution since Blizzard apparently doesn't care about their user base..
Ok, since 3.2 I've been having terrible fps problems only in 25 man raids. AV/IoC and other BGs run fine, 10 mans run fine, WG is still laggy, but thats a server issue. Im fine up until we enter combat, where my framerate nosedives to between <0fps and 8fps.
Snippets from DxDiag:

I have tried running without addons, without my WTF/Cache/etc folders, graphics set to minimum on all settings, run in fullscreen mode, run in OpenGL mode, run in nosound mode.
I have reformatted and reinstalled windows and wow, updated all applicable drivers, defragmented DH, disabled antivirus.
My computer is well above the wow minimum requirements and I run fine in large scale situations, just not in 25 man raids specifically. If you can suggest anything I can do ingame to test for a specific problem, I would appreciate it. If you need any further information, just ask. My current test project is getting a 25 man raid to kill one boss without any addons - to check wether addon chatter to my client is bogging down my processor and causing my fps to drop.

Your CPU is weak, your RAM is low, and this suggests an addon problem that is more apparent in larger groups.

Doesnt change the fact that this has only been recently, the last about month and a half - the release date of 3.2 and that what I have is more than enough to run WoW.

How many of your addons updated something with 3.2? Can still be an addon issue.

I have tried running without addons
|
Its not MY addons as ive tried with and without, and have them all fully updated regardless.
Edit: Ran some tests on lolarchavon 25:
Pre-Combat with above minimum video settings - 68fps
In combat with minimum video settings - 3fps
In combat with minimum video settings - 37fps
In combat with maximum video settings - 17fps
Looks like I've found something.

What kind of gems are you guys using for the socket items? I have several of the regular ToC and some other and wasn't 100 percent sure what would be best

I am a Destro Lock. My spec is 0/13/58. I know that haste is more beneficial than crit. When do you have enough crit to focus on stacking haste?

I have a couple questions about my DK in particular. Here is the armory of said character: Daryaim of Shadowsong
I was wondering if:
a) there any any gem choices people would change
b) do i have the gear to go blood and if so would i see more dps from it? if not would i be better looking @ 3/13/55?
c) i will be picking up my t8.5 helm + sigil of virulence soon once i get enough badges and as a result i will be losing 60 hit from my helm. any suggestions as to how to recoup that lost hit? as you can see by my gem selection i am already having to gem quite heavily for hit. (i've had no luck with +hit rings, trinkets, necks or bracers dropping )
d) is the darkmoon card: death a suitable replacement for loatheb's shadow until i get lucky enough for it to drop .. if it ever does?

Nobody in the raid is using addons. If you're going to be a smartass in a support thread, learn to read first.

Your 3 fps screenshot clearly shows your running addons, while all the others do not. The others also have higher FPS.

Nobody includes myself. I've run 25 man raids without addons while having the rest of the raid continue using whatever they use with less drastic results. If you aren't going to contribute anything, don't post.
