The wiki doesn't go in depth to some of these questions, as it is a repository of well established knowledge, not ongoing discussion.

1. As you start building your healing set, [Insightful Earthsiege Diamond] will probably be best. Once your gear improves, [Ember Skyflare Diamond] might be better.
2. This is best answered by using the shaman_hep combatlog parser on data you collect in game. Until you have enough data of your own to analyze, refer to the wiki, the spreadsheet, or shaman_hep reports submitted by others.
3. What's best for you might vary. You can find my summary of resto glyphs here.
4. LHW & HW have different strengths. HW is greater healing output than LHW but it's slower and overheals more. Sometimes a slower heal isn't good enough and your target dies mid-cast, sometimes a bigger heal is just what's needed. It takes time to get a feel for when to use which spell.

I'm a bit suprised by a message i got saying i've recieved an infraction. I think there's been a bit of a misunderstanding here so i'll clarify and you guys can tell me if i'm off base.

I asked if anyone had ideas on how to make up for the rune power lost during the T7 set bonus nurf. The standard Unholy 12/0/59 and 0/10/61 rotation prior to the nerf was pretty fluid but now it feels like it needs tweaking since there's not always enough RP to get in an extra DC before the rune refreshes. I've seen suggestions of using AMS to supplement but that really only helps if you're being hit since it costs rp to cast, right? Seemed like a legit question to me - this being the unholy dps thread and all.

In response to my infraction ... I'm not "begging" for help. I read the posts I missed after my 1 week vacation and didn't see the issue really addressed so i asked. In fact I only mentioned it incase i somehow missed a post that addressed it.

I read these forums often and appreciate them - so what gives?

Ok - so i've been on vacation for a week and since the changes to 4pc t7.5 i'm wondering if i need to tweak my rotation now or not when i get back to wow. Also I'll have the 4pc T8 after next raid and will be switching then I think...

So my question... Is the runic regen still enough without the T7 bonus or does the old "Standard" 12/0/59 rotation still hold water?

I'm referring to IT, PS, BS, BS, SS then SS, SS, SS while dumping RP when the next strike would push you over cap. Also not refreshing IT, PS if the SS glyph procced.

Glyphs i have are... Ghoul, Scourge Strike, Dark Death

I read back a few pages incase this was asked already but didn't see anything.

Here is screeny of the last Nexus HC boss. 0/13/58 spec. Also showing off my "Superior" =). I think that when played right, this spec has a LOT of potential, even at very low gear levels.

Please stop posting pictures of DPS. There is a reason why I said "Do not post WWS/WMO/WoL Parses" and Recount SS falls under those. They only clutter up the thread more. If you want to submit some useful DPS Parses, upload to WWS, WoL, or WMO and PM me the parse and info in the format on the front of the page.

Yea my bad, I should have posted in the correct forum. All is enabled - Low security on macros - all is set as told in the manual on the 1st page. Name and server - and link to the armory is in place - but it dont get the info from my char.. Comes up with an error like.. eu=us in the end of the url??

first of all i am an ele shaman.

i picked up 2 pc's of t8 in the last week. this makes me have enough for the 4pc set bonus but with all 4pc's my haste drops to 483.

i have other items i could use in its place:
*the t8 are not 8.5*

t8 helm vs helm of veiled energies (exchange haste for hit)

t8 gloves vs runshaper gloves

t8 pants vs leggings of the wanton spellcaster


with all the alternate choices of t8 equipped my haste is almost at 600, with in the same ballpark of amount of spellpower.

i havent seen an in-depth look at the set bonus and how much it will increase your DPS on average.


basically what i am asking is-

is the t8 4pc worth losing ~100 haste?
should i sub in my 226 items in for my 219 t8?
