Real simple question: value of expertise for a muti rogue.
I know the answer is right on the spreadsheets, but as of my current best gear i'm sitting at 15 exp. Spreadsheets tell me the value of expertise is 1.8 while agi is 2.0 (somehow expected). The thing is I felt much more confortable with my cycle at the gear I had when exp was capped (you know: not one but two dodges when an envenom is expected because slice is about to drop for whatever reason)
Hence the question: would a experienced rogue 1 gem for exp, 2 set back form the upgrades untill the cap (or something close) can be reached, 3 go ahead and suffer the dodges (spreadsheets say my new shiny toc gear is better but lacking the exp), 4 buy the tier9 shoulder for the big chunk of exp instead of the beautifull non tier piece (didnt get to have the tier8 shoulders, so head is not an option now i think)... anything else?

And as far as being able to use "the highest ilvl piece you can get for each slot": there are 3 pieces of 258 gear that are well itemized for Int stacking Holy Paladins: T9 gloves, mail legs from faction champions and the ring. Going down to 245 gear and you get to use the crafted bracers. Outside of that you're stuck with either using 239 Ulduar loot or using badly itemized (SP/Crit/Haste or SP/Crit/MP5) but higher ilvl pieces of gear, that choice then boils down to getting more Int from the higher ilvl pieces at the cost of throughput from the well itemized Haste/MP5 Ulduar pieces.
I dont know what Im talking about lol? When you have a nearly 40k mana pool you dont need to trade crit for mp5. I can sustain a holy light spam for a number of minutes with proper use of cooldowns, consumables, and skilled cast cancelling with high spell haste. If youre stacking sp and raiding with me youre going to get every holy light sniped, and if your main heal is flash of light you are bad. And if youre not using ~20+ ilvl upgrades because you dont like how they are itemized you are missing out on a massive amount of int.

Edit-Just looked at your armory and lol @ a 21k mana pool and barely 600 haste. But nice spell power, your few heals per fight that arent overheal must hit hard and your raid must love the subpar flash of light spam when you could be dropping 25k holy light bombs that splash heal on the raid.

I've been using [Aledar's Battlestar] and [Bloodcrush Cudgel] as mace spec since they were my highest dps weapons that matched. I've recently acquired [Steel Bladebreaker] and [Dirk of the Night Watch] and I was wondering if there is a spec (most likely mutilate I would think) where these two 1.4 speed daggers will outperform the two maces. Since their dps is significantly higher it seems that it should be likely but without the large crits of a slow weapon I came to you guys for advice.

I've also been combat specced since I began my rogue so I'm not sure of my personal ability to try mutilate out since the dps might be lower for me simply due to my lack of knowledge of how to properly play the spec so I'm hesitant to re-glyph, re-spec and all that until at least someone else says I should. Also, since it seems combat daggers is useless (you basically need a good MH fist weapon) I wanted to ask. That and spreadsheets make my head spin.

I was looking at the BiS lists for my warrior alt, but I can't seem to find the back or ranged weapon. Can someone post some info about Vereesa's Dexterity & Rokshalla. What I'm looking for is which stats are on it and where they drop. Thanks in advance

sorry but that is just wrong. you can have icehowl run directly through you without hitting you or enraging as long as the person targeted is one who got knocked back to the wall. i always block the first massive crash and run around nuking the boss and i have tested this out multiple times. the only time i got hit by icehowl he charged towards a rogue who had done basically the same thing as I, using killing spree and therefore standing in the middle of the arena when targeted.

in short: you ARE safe while standing in his trajectory as long as you are far enough away from the wall.

Got my helm today, converted to Nightmare Tear, as well as the 21 agil 3% increased crit meta, and I noticed a ~200-450 Dummy DPS increase with the 2 PC T9. I did a series of 12 tests, and there is in fact a DPS increase, despite the fact the loss of the 4 PC T8 Set bonus.

the question is with the arpen nerf how is it going to effect trinket choice. since the cap is raised will a combo of mjolnir trinket and twins trinket make arpen more admirable and overall more dps over gemming agility and useing comets trail and twins trinket.

I read that Blizz wants to decrease the benefit from ArP by 15%. So that means that we just need 15% more and 1232*1.15=1416.8 so should I get those 200 ArP or gemming everything to Agi again?

I understand the need for not spamming HS until you're around the 50rage ballpark. I'm theorizing that I can stay on top of that ballpark by raising crit level (in tandem with HS glyph). Unbuffed, currently at 5187ap, 33.95%crit, 51.8%arp - 237hit/24exp. Goal is to get the 4pc T9 bonus and then perhaps replace grim toll with mjolnir or maybe even convert some 20str gems to 10str/10crit.

Is it possible this behavior has changed in the last week? I havent been to a raid this lockout period, and wont be back until the new one starts. However, no less than 3 times we have had a priest and a hunter get hit while they were NOT near the wall, NOR the one targetted, causing him to enrage.

Not sure where to start...

I have off specc'ed as 2H Frost Tank recently and gathered up (what I think) is an acceptable set of gear. But I'm having problems with groups in some of the tougher Heroic instances as well as Naxx 10 or Ulduar 10. (I dont suppose to be skilled enough to go to the raid level instances regardless of my gear level, that has occurred only by request from my guild when needed)

What I am looking for is a slap on the wrist (if appropriate) and maybe some good advice on what I may be lacking in gear or talents/glyphs.

I dont see why this build would take "too much damage" in ToC Heroic (5 man) or OK Heroic. Am I missing something very basic? I know there is more to tanking than gear - times when you must use your DK talents, etc. i.e. pop AMS (such as third phase of Black Knight), hit cooldowns, summon ghoul/deathpact, keep mobs in front of you, but am not experienced enough to understand anything more subtle than that yet.

Sorry for the totally newb post but I just got this game in March and am afraid to dig too deep into the tank threads as so many things have changed in the DK specs even since I got here : /

- Is this an acceptable gear/gem/talant/glyph set for Heroic tanking?
(If not, what am I missing?)

Is it viable for anything further? (i.e. 10 mans like VoA, Naxx, Ulduar?)
(If not what are your suggestions on what to work on?)

With incoming armor pen nurf whats the best off-tier-piece now?

I just got Silver Assasin Gloves I'm trying to decide on which T9 pieces to get. I dont want to get chest/legs/shoulders only to find out that slot is the best to replace with the offpiece.

Misdirection: For thirty seconds, the next three attacks done will transfer all threat to the targeted party or raid member.
You use the same word "transfer" here.
Does this mean that for both spells the threat is removed from the source and added to the target?

(I mean in the case of vigilance, does this mean the player on whom the warrior casts it, the threat is lost for him?)

What is the general rule of thumb when to replace teir 8 bonus for T9? I hear it's not until 4pc T9 but which ilvl pieces?

Hi there I have a question!! (oh yae maybe its answered already many times but i dont see or dont understand what everybody is saying).
Do the HOT's of me stack with the HOT's of other druids??
If another tree throws a rejuvenation on a tank on top of mine does the tank get double rejuvenation?? Same with the other hots, i have no idea how that works.
I hope you lot can answer this (i am a bit of an old noob).

If i cast a rejuvenation on top of another druids does that make a double rejuvenation?? (and same question for all the other hot's)

Its a bit different, 100x 13.99572719 , or 1400 ArP to cap , but yeah pretty much you want to reach that number and then socket agi.

I would recommend stacking haste if you are going for a high crit percentage.

If I read correctly, you're going for extra crit because you want to be able to spam HS without worrying about becoming rage starved for your WW and Bloodthirst rotation.

Crit isn't really what will make that possible. What you need is Haste. HS is on your MH swing timer, so if you're critting all of the time you're still going to be putting out the same number of Heroic Strikes per boss fight assuming that you can use it every swing with your crit build.

So yes, with lots of crit you will be able to HS very often, but haste is what will get more heroic strikes in.

I wouldn't recommend gemming for haste though, just use gear that is itemized for it when you have the chance.

As always, it's best to be balanced.

Question: How much (if at all) will the Master Poisoner change affect a mutilate rogue's desire to get a fast off-hand?

Seeing that basically deadly poison will never ever drop again in a single target scenario, a slower off-hand for bigger mutilates should be more desirable IF Focused Attacks doesn't outweigh the higher mutilates. I saw discussions regarding weapon-switching, poison-switching etc... but i think this question hasn't been asked yet.
