I spent some time reading this thread but couldnt find a couple answers to some questions I have.

I thought I read somewhere in this thread that points spent in Black Ice could be better spent elsewhere. But of course I couldnt find it again. Is there any truth to this?

How important is it to incorporate Merciless combat and improved frost presence?

If frost is more single target I didn't pick up morbitity, but more so because I didnt have the points.

And finally what is the consensus if any on Icy Talons? How many points into it. 3, 3 and 5, or all 9 points?

Glyphs I have Obliterate, Howling Blast, and Rune Strike.

Hi folks, i allways wondert, why Illustration is never mentioned by anybody. 200spelldmg all fight long sounds rly powerfull..or is there something i missed?

Yes you missed something. Up to 26 Itemlevels

Flare of the Heavens is 120 crit and 850 spellpower for 10 seconds with 45s internal cooldown that's about 189 spellpower all the time (in simple math)
Scale of Fate has 125 spellpower and 432 haste for 20 seconds every 2 minutes and that's 72 haste overall.
Eye of the Broodmother has 87 crit and a stack effect like Illustration for 125 spellpower.
So except Flare of the Heavens, they are not VASTLY superior, but still upgrades.

I am an arcane mage and I have no idea what gems I should be looking at getting? I have alot of +crit and +hit gems on me and I have the feeling that I am in the wrong and that I could be better gemmed?

That is a link to my armory, any advice would be great

and note I have the volorous frostfire robe, should I swap out heigans vestiments? and if so what should I gem the frostfire robe with?

Elitist Jerks appeals to a very broad group of players. The information appeals to me regardless of what you read about my armory. I stick with Nourish because I do a lot of 10-man Ulduar with less experienced players and often am stuck healing the MT because many healers in my guild are, quite frankly, terrible.

I do not think you are in any position to discuss what the "vast majority" of people in this forum believe. And the fact that I'm not working on hard modes hardly makes me less qualified to read the data and make an informed decision. In much the same way that a scientist does not need to inject himself with HIV in order to treat the disease or make an informed decision regarding how the disease progresses.

Perhaps you should re-read the ToS before you go spouting off about what the forums are interested in.

That being said, I agreed with a poster above who noticed that it really depends on what you're working on. A good number of healers, even here, aren't working on 25-man hard modes yet, and for us, GoNourish still has a place. When my guild starts doing 25-mans more consistently, I'll be switching to Rejuvenation.

As a rule

Only two blue gems to meet meta requirements I prefer [Glowing Twilight Opal] but feel free to go for the 8 spirit variant for raw dps

Red - obviously [Runed Scarlet Ruby]. None other.

Yellow - Two things factor here. Generally you want to go for [Reckless Monarch Topaz], but if you are under the hit cap, go for [Rigid Autumn's Glow].
