I play way too many characters to link each binding, but there are is a template:
WASD to move. (bound A and D to strafe, use mouse left click to turn)
1-6 are bound to the most used skills (charge, heals while in instances, etc)
Shift 1-3 are bound to either stances or fort buff. etc.
Q, shift+Q, E, shift+E, T, Shift+T, Z, Shift+Z, X, Shift+X, Shift S, F (mainly bound to warrior, Q = Piercing Howl/Shield slam, Shift+Q = Conc Blow or Slam, E = Execute or Sunder, Shift+E = Pierce Howl, T = Interupts, Shift+T = Disarm, Z= Battle shout, Shift+Z = Commanding Shout, X = Demo Shout, Shift+X = Slam (If spec'd prot), Shift+S is T.Clap), F = Bloodrage.
All big CD's are clickable (I bound last stand and shield wall to shift A and D, and when I get bored I switch stances and jitter around--ADD--and would trigger those damn CD's all the time...)

Just to add my thoughts to the fray as an outsider... I have an alt Warlock who I always used for fun since my main was a gimpy prot warrior.
Last night we rolled up a quick ZA group which had 2 Locks.... my alt and another full time guildie. The full time guildie prior to this patch was your typical SB spam lock and was competitive on DPS. Last night both of us were affliction and I absolutely blew the doors off him. I was amazed to learn that he really didn't understand Haunt or any other mechanics that are the bread and butter of affliction.
What this little tale illustrates is that people haven't been use to challenging rotations. We have had a whole pile of locks that have only known SB spam. There is nothing overly complex about any of the trees... I think people are just having to adjust and the natural reaction is to resist change. In the end, the difference between an "ok" and "great" player will be a smaller gap... but it will still be noticable.
Lets face it.... Blizz couldn't give Warlocks more damage. Complaining that everyone caught up seems like a playground argument.

Killin' for fun

How about this as a new glyph for Assassination:
Glyph of Envenom:
Your Envenoms instantly add 1 dose of Deadly Poison to the target.
This would ensure that your mob is always poisoned for your next mutilate attack. Would a glyph like this be useful or are the changes to poison application (the envenom buff, etc.) more than enough to make this glyph insignificant?

Move with strafe as A / D respective, and up and down with W / S, and turn with my mouse. Frost bolt bought to Q, Fireblast to one of my mouse buttons, and scorch to E. All other spells are bound 1-5 and ctrl or shift added.
keybindings are well...key

So, excuse me, but it might be my lack of understanding proper english, but are you telling us that you think warlock dps is fine and we need to read haunt and install a dotimer to actually do dps? You know, if the locks in your guild are horrible and only rerolled warlock after it was a 1 button class, that doesn't mean that every lock can't play their class.
I suppose you don't really know that early in TBC the one warlock spec everyone was using was actually full affliction and I would guess most people who post here actually played that for a good few months until they were done with BT.

If you will only cast one dot I suggest you to use Corruption since with Glyph of Corruption possible instant Shadowbolt is always welcome. Or maybe both, Corruption and CoA? Go and find out.

So Blizzard did not forget the Warlock completely, that is nice, I like the upcoming changes, though, as some of you guys mentioned, this is no solution for our "tricky" Destruction and Affliction trees.
In the light of the coming talent changes, do you guys think a 31/33/7 spec could be viable?
I would test it with that great simulationcraft, but I honestly lack of time and knowledge to work myself through the files to test that spec.
One could take the points from Isb and put them to Eradication, too.

1 question-how different would be making modules for class instead of just one tree?are the differences between trees so big?

His post was more or less the equivalent belief of many other's that "Hey your lock topped charts in X dungeon so they're fine". Here are some points to address for the errant prot warrior:
1) AFfliction DPS is highly luck dependant if matched side by side assuming mobility is any issue. Lag plays a severe part in keeping dots up as well as missing GCD's can be huge.
2) Debuff limit (while ZA probably won't see the debuff limit, it's also possible due to huge amounts of debuff slots afflict takes up)
3) Several talents are bugged in the tree itself. Uncertain of whether shadow embrace is fixed or not but there have been varying reports that it only works for one player regardless of how many stacks it.
4)Gear, Considering your main is in ZA/T4-early T5 gear, I'm assuming your guild isn't well geared across the board. as a result, the gear disparity might not be too different between his lock and yours. (My rogue for example outgears a few main rogues in my guild) Add that on top of your warlock being geared towards destro and your lock probably freshly tuned to afflict and that can explain a lot of the dps difference. Especially since you more or less suggest the lock in question is a newb to his class.
Ghostcrawler did recently post though (in the BETA) forums that lock dPS arent' quite where they would like it to be so here's to some hope.
IMO, the biggest problem so far has been Demonic Sacrifice. Gear and such was previously based around Demo Sac and shadow bolts (see T6 to reflect this). Now it's being radically shifted to another direction without really shifting the gear to compensate.
I think Blizzard is taking WArlocks in the /right/ direction. (I don't look forward to another 10 levels + year of raiding hitting shadow bolt) However, the idea isn't very fine tuned IMO.

You really need to take the time to properly read and interpret posts before you slam them.
1.) Prot warriors were incredibly gimpy prior to this patch. I rolled my Lock months ago for this reason.
2.) My post wasn't a "hey i topped dps post" but rather that people have been too accustomed to spamming one button and they need to adjust. Many people have only played "Shadowmage" SB Spam lock for over a year.
I don't disagree with your issues... But at the same time I enjoy having a challenge. Keeping up a proper rotation of DoT's (especially when having to move) is incredibly difficult, but that doesn't directly = unfun. In fact, most classes face huge DPS issues when mobility is factored in.
The fact that other classes had to have significant buffs (while locks stood largely flat) just to bring them up to our range should tell you something. It will take time for people to adjust to the new dynamic... and yes, people may actually have to read their spells and tooltips rather then eating a sandwich and hitting the "2" key over an over.

Beware... there is a peculiar effect when using weapons with identical speeds. The Yo!'s didn't get that right for a long time (or maybe ever, I don't recall) and I don't know what Tukez's does. I think this was discussed (and I participated) but I don't recall the upshot. I must be getting old.
Of course it would help if I remembered the effect. IIRC, it is that both hands get the benefit of a last flurry charge. But I may be forgetting something.

Hunters and Haste
Hi all,
I'm new here and there's quite a bit of information to consume.
I joined with the hopes of better understanding my class post-3.0. Prior to it, I was under the assumption that haste was good (to a certain degree). Now I'm finding that my hunter doesn't output the same amount of dmg even though the overall dps is the same. People have told me it's because of my haste, so I'm here to verify and rectify...
I currently use the 3:2 rotation and have a devilsaur.
I'll be monitoring this thread for advice.
Thanks.

Right now the best weapon combination for a SS build is Calamity's Grasp and Webbed Death. This is in part due to the fact that it's the only ilvl 226 MH rogue weapon available, and partly due to the fact that fists are just good. However, not everyone is going to have a Calamity's Grasp for a while; in terms of using other weapons, while swords might be a bit behind fists at equal ilvl, it's generally smaller than the difference between tiers of weapons - that is, an ilvl 213 sword will tend to be better than an ilvl 200 fist.
Hence, swords are no longer the optimal weapon, but depending on your itemization luck they may be a totally viable option. To figure out what's ideal based on what you have, I would recommend, that's right, using the spreadsheet.
|
You think we will ever see the days of glaive quality swords, in terms of weapon speed?
I mean if memory serves.. before season 1 we had jack all for combat swords (Spiteblade not withstanding), with a total lack of any, ANY, quality offhands.

Hello!
My alt char is healer and i've speeced disc with him, atm i got T4/T5 gear with some Badge rewards.
We mostly raids SSC->BT now with nerf-patch on raids.
The World of Warcraft Armory <- Armory seems bugged but there is he.
What stats is best to aim at? Int / Crit / Haste / +spellpower? In what prio?
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft <- is that the best specc for me atm?
When I'm on tank healing, i try to use Renew / PoM / Flash heal. Shield when its off CD and penance when he gets spikes. Is that a good rotation?

I briefly read through these pages and didn't see what I thought of today.
Would it behoove you to now stack 10 int instead of 10 str gems? Since Mental Dex gives 1ap per int and str gives
Apologizes if this would be the wrong place to ask that question. Most of everything here is pre-3.0.
Also, does it even matter that much? Especially since it's this close to xpac.

Some questions about DW 1hs
I have been reading these forums for a long time, but this is my first post. I am a DPS Warrior with mostly T5+ gear.
I was wondering first of all, when you are DWing 1hs, does it make a difference if the off hand is an axe and not just the main hand? When I tried this on my character sheet it showed same crit with MH axe and with havig one in MH and 1 in OH, but I didnt know if it has some other effect having an axe in OH.
Also, I currently have a mounting vengeance as an off hand. I know that it is better to have a fast off hand, but the best I could get right now would probably be a merciless off hand. Would the speed difference be enough to make up the large difference in stats/dps? Also have ppl determined whether its best to have dual mongoose or still executioner an mongoose? I havent enchanted either yet so I can go either way (the vengeance is mongoosed but i mean if im replacing).

I was wondering if anyone had any feed back on best in slot gear from SWP; I know with the WOTLK release up and coming these items will be replaced quickly in Naxx but it would still be nice to hear some feed back as I collect a last few pieces of loot.
My original post http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t26204-d...54/#post947209
On a second note, I apparently received one infraction point for a mispunctuated sentence and useless post. You can find the post in question here:
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t26204-d...55/#post947856
I would like to note that I misread the post I quoted and some how it was deemed of infraction severity.....
I would wonder if there are more serious things to give people in fraction for; profanity, derogatory statements, or badgering? I'm quite concerned that if I am receiving an infraction for something that I seem as a minuscule mistake how much time the admin that took action against me has to waste? Or even how anal retentive he/she may be?
I assume I am writing this at my own risk of receiving another infraction or even a ban from the forums. This is a forum for discussion where people share and conflict over ideas, i some one is wrong about something; obvious or not; people usually ignore it or point it out plain as day. I was under the impression that forums are where people argue about things, though what I wrote in foresight is fairly inept, sometimes I read educated, well-written posts that I don't agree with and can deem utterly useless to me as I find the infraction I received. Judging something as useless or not can be very subjective at times.
I hope this post if more suitable in the areas of proper editing, punctuation, and usefulness.
